Chapter 1918

Edward did not know what else he could do.

"Listen to me, and don't do anything rash," Lily said, "Do you think we couldn't just catch him? It's easy to do that, but what about those he's working for and their network?"

"Have I...made a mistake?" Edward hesitated. He did this and stuck to his plan since regaining his volition. However, he now realized he might be making a massive mistake. "Nothing has happened yet, and you can still stop this," Lily consoled him, "However..."

She quietly sighed while looking at the man who had gotten knocked out cold. She never expected Edward to be here and do all this before she and Mike could carry out their plan.

Lily palmed her forehead, rubbed between her brows, and felt it was tricky to solve the current problem. Meanwhile, with his thigh in great pain, Mike looked pale as he breathed heavily. He sat weakly aside as he glared at the man on the floor.

The man looked genuinely ugly, and Mike wanted to kill him after thinking about what he had said and done.

"Ma'am..." Edward called out to Lily hesitantly.

Lily looked at him." How many bombs did you set?"

Edward was puzzled. "Not many, but enough to blow up the whole building."

Lily was stunned.

'This is crazy! If Mike and I hadn't come here and Edward hadn't asked us to leave, this place would have been in the ground by now. What a close shave!' Lily broke out in cold sweat just thinking about it. "Can we defuse the bombs?" she asked.

"Yes, but it'll take some time," Edward said, "They're remote-controlled bombs, but-"

At this moment, hurried footsteps came from outside. The trio knew the ones approaching must work for the organization because the regular employees could not access this floor.

Mike exchanged looks with the other two, palmed his wound, and forced himself up. "I'll deal with them.”

However, Edward thought Mike could not do it and wanted to help. "Let me do it!"

Mike shot him a glare instead as he gasped in pain. "You? Do you plan to strike them all down? How many can you handle?"

Before Edward could speak, Mike added, "Do you know they have firearms?"

Edward was at a loss for words. He knew it would be impossible to overwhelm armed men, no matter how good he was at fighting. Mike said, "Just leave it to me!"

He went out and pushed the button. Then the bookcase door slowly closed again.
