Chapter 431 Young Master Chen is Chen Hao

"Who is it?" Everyone exchanged curious looks.

"Manager Hu!" Yang Yuting smiled at Manager Hu just as he entered the VIP lounge for a break.

"My apologies, Mr. Yang. We're absolutely swamped today, so you'll have to bear with any lapses in our hospitality," Manager Hu said.

"Nonsense. We already can't thank you enough for taking the time to meet with us, even though it is always so busy in Xinfeng!" Yang Yuting said.

"Yes, about that... I've asked about that proposal bid you mentioned, and I'm afraid Mr. Zhao won't have the time to look at it for several days. You might have to wait a while."

"Of course, we'll let you handle everything!" Yang Yuting had no choice but to obey.

Manager Hu glanced at his watch, then murmured with surprise, "That's weird. Mr. Zhao should be here by now?" He said as he glanced toward the door.

"Are you expecting someone, Manager Hu?" the receptionist, Liu, asked.

"Ah yes, I was just about to ask you. Please check the front desk and see if Miss Yang Xiaobei has arrived," Manager Hu asked, suddenly realizing that it was possible that Miss Yang had arrived early.

"Miss Yang Xiaobei?" Xiao Liu froze, then looked at Yang Xiaobei. Yang Yuting and Guo Ru also found themselves shocked. What the heck was Manager Hu seeking out Yang Xiaobei for?

"Manager Hu, she... she's called Yang Xiaobei!" Xiao Liu pointed to Xiaobei.

"What?" Manager Hu's face instantly changed and he hurriedly walked to Yang Xiaobei. "If you're Miss Yang, then General Manager Zhao Kang must have...?"

His words sent everyone present into a state of shock. Guo Ru in particular had her jaw hanging so wide open, she could fit an egg in her mouth.

"Manager Hu, are you sure there's someone called Zhao Kang in this company?" Guo Ru said in disbelief, as Yang Yan and Yang Ye glared at Yang Xiaobei with envy.

"Yes, he's one of the company's major CEOs and he usually keeps a low profile. Also, Mrs. Guo, don't you think using the full name of our boss is a little inappropriate?" Manager Hu said seriously. There were several major CEOs in this company, and none of them would simply divulge their identities to lower-level employees. That was why they were called the "backstage managers", after all.

"Sorry, sorry. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some mistake being made here. Yang Xiaobei here is just a low-level employee of our company, so what is it about her that warranted a welcome from Mr. Zhao himself?"

"Yeah. Allegedly, it was Chen Hao who introduced them, but how is it possible for him to have this kind of connection?" Yang Yan said enviously.

It was clear that everyone now looked at their families with condescension, given that hard slap to the face they were just given. Meanwhile, Guo Ru remembered the incident yesterday when Chen Hao forked out 76 million instantly and some of the things Yang Ye said about his new look. Now that Chen Hao apparently had direct connections with Xinfeng, even a fool would realize that he was no ordinary man! "Wait!" Guo Ru interrupted Yang Yan and her mother, who were whining away like a dog who just got kicked. "Do you think we've misunderstood Chen Hao all along, and he's not actually poor? Why else would he be so generous and have such an influential network?" she said grimly.

Everybody fell silent with that sentence; no one wanted to believe it, but they couldn't deny the facts.

"That's very improbable. I certainly don't believe it!" Aunt Xu Sen shook her head furiously.

"Yeah, we don't believe it either!" Yang Yan and Yang Ye agreed.

As for Guo Ru, she was the devilishly smart kind of person, so no one knew what she thought of it. But after some time, she suddenly clapped a hand to her mouth as if something had shocked her, and that surprised Yang Yuting and Yang Ye as well.

"What is it, Mum?" Yang Ye asked hastily.

"Yeah, Guo Ru. What's with the shock? I mean, it's always possible that Chen Hao was just calling in a favor he was owed, right?" Aunt Xu Sen said.

"No!" Guo Ru shook her head vigorously. "Have you all forgotten the billion-dollar present Mother received during her birthday party today?" She blinked furiously.

"From that mysterious young master of the Chen family?" Some of them fell silent.

"Yeah, they did mention that the person was called Young Master Chen of the Chen family. Chen Hao's surname is also Chen, so if he was this Young Master Chen, would that explain everything?" Guo Ru herself was shocked by this theory. This time, everyone fell silent again as their expressions darkened.

"Impossible! Definitely impossible!" Aunt Xu Sen said.

"But Yang Xiaobei must know something. Aunt Guo Ru, I suggest you stop making guesses as wild as Chen Hao being Young Master Chen. If Yang Xiaobei fails to get the project, then all would be clear!" Yang Yan said.

"Alright, we'll wait for Yang Xiaobei, then!" Forty minutes later, Yang Xiaobei emerged. However, she was carrying five extra files.

"Yang Xiaobei!" Guo Ru and the others were still waiting for her, and they were dumbstruck when they saw the five contracts she was holding.

"Y-You signed all of them?" Guo Ru said in disbelief.

"Mm hmm, you're looking at five of Xinfeng's major projects for this year and the next one too!" Yang Xiaobei said, still overwhelmed. Let's see if you all can still bully my mother and I after this. After that, she made to leave with little regard to her shocked aunts and uncles.

"Hold it right there!" Guo Ru said.

"What?"

"Hmph, don't get cocky just because you've secured so many projects. Tell me, how did Chen Hao get such an influential network? How does he even know Mr. Zhao Kang?"
