Chapter 606 Yanis, Can I Go Beyond the Boundaries?

Yanis made a sound of confusion, "What's wrong?"

Zane bit his lip and fixed his gaze on Yanis' lips. "Yanis, can I cross the line?"

Yanis made another sound of confusion, clearly not understanding what Zane meant.

But before she could react, Zane pulled her onto his lap with some force.

As soon as Yanis sat on Zane's lap, almost instinctively, she lifted her hand and hooked it around Zane's neck.

Zane didn't give her a chance to calm down; he tilted his head up and pressed his thin lips against hers.

A faint scent of medicine lingered in the air between them.

Yanis tightened her grip around Zane's neck involuntarily.

The kiss didn't last long; it was just a light touch that was restrained yet repressed.

Afterwards, Zane let go of Yanis and looked at her sincerely. "I'm sorry I crossed the line."

Yanis couldn't even come up with a rebuttal; she stared at him for several seconds before quickly standing up from Zane's lap as if just coming back to reality. "Um... I... I'll go put away the medicine box." As she spoke, Yanis turned around to sort out the medicine box on the table.

When Yanis finished packing away everything in order, Zane also stood up while picking up one side of his coat, "It's getting late now, I should leave now."

Hearing this, Yanis halted what she was doing and turned to look at Zanes. He had already put on his coat and was adjusting his collar. Yannis stared blankly for a while before saying, "Then why don't we go down together?"

Zane agreed, and they went downstairs together. Yannis put away the medicine box first, before walking with Zane to the car door. "Drive safely," she said as he opened the car door.

Zane looked back at Yannis standing in front of the car and said, "Yanis, I want to cross the line again."

With what happened just now, Yanis made an almost subconscious move by covering her mouth with her hand and saying, "No!"

But then Zanel smiled softly and stepped forward, pulling Yani into his arms."I just want to hug you."

His warm breath spilled over Yani's ear, making her shiver involuntarily. This hug was like thatkissfrom earlier, itdidn'tlastlong. Zaneloosenedhisholdonherandsaid, "Go inside. Goodnight."

Yani nodded slightly, "Goodnight." After saying goodnight to each other, they two stood there without leaving immediately.

The two of them stood face to face, like a couple just starting to fall in love. They were reluctant to part ways and looked at each other for a long time. Finally, Zane couldn't bear the thought of Yanis being cold without a jacket, so he walked her directly to her doorstep.

"Go rest now. I'll go back," Zane said.

"Okay," Yanis replied.

Yanis watched as Zane's car drove away before closing the door and heading upstairs. The room wasn't very big, but she could still smell the faint scent of medicine from when she had helped Zane apply it earlier.

Standing in front of the bedroom door for a moment, Yanis finally snapped out of her daze and grabbed some clothes before heading into the bathroom.

The next day in Manches City was even warmer than before; spring had truly arrived. Yesterday they needed jackets, but today only thin clothing was necessary when going outside.

At 5:30, Myles drove his car over to Cooke's Mansion and parked it neatly. He checked himself out in the rearview mirror before getting out of his car with some nervousness that he couldn't explain - ever since Freddy called him up yesterday inviting him over, Myles felt uneasy about this whole thing.

Now that he was standing at Freddy's doorstep, Myles almost wanted to turn around and leave right then and there without knocking on the door first!

Just as he raised his hand readying himself for knocking on Freddy's front door, it opened up suddenly by itself!

Freddy saw Myles standing there, saying, "You're here right on time!"

Myles nodded awkwardly while greeting, "Good morning, Uncle Cooke."

"Good morning."

"I'm afraid I might be late due to traffic, so I came early," Myles explained while trying not to look too nervous or anxious about everything happening around him today - especially since last night took forever just to set all those alarms.

Washing up quickly after waking up earlier than usual made this probably one of the earliest mornings ever for poor Myles!

"You seem pretty nervous," said Freddy walked out.

Myles rubbed his face nervously upon hearing these words: "Do I?"

Freddy chuckled lightly: "Yeah you do! But if you say you're not, then maybe you're not."

Myles looked at Freddy's back and lifted his heel. "I'm a little nervous. I don't know why." Freddy walked over to the car and stopped. "Afraid I'd make you leave Bonnie?"

When Myles heard Freddy's words, his eyes widened in surprise as he looked at Freddy.

Seeing Myles' reaction, Freddy couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "Get in the car. We can talk on the way there. All the good food will be gone if we're too late."

Myles' heart was still racing when he got into the car and helped Freddy open the door. He didn't even realize that he was feeling anxious after hearing what Freddy had said earlier.

Freddy got into the car, and as he closed the door, he said, "Don't worry. I won't let you leave Bonnie. I'm afraid to ride with you, seeing you are so nervous."

When Myles heard Freddy's words, he felt his heart plummet back into his chest. He breathed a sigh of relief and smiled awkwardly at Freddy. "I... I didn't take it seriously."

Freddy smiled without trying to explain Myles's shock. "Come on, let's go."

Myles shut the car door and patted himself on the chest as he turned his back on Freddy.

Freddy sat in the car watching Myles and chuckled.

As they drove to Old Street from Cooke's Mansion, they chatted about trivial things with no mention of Bonnie or their situation.

Freddy didn't say anything about Bonnie, so Myles didn't say anything about them, fearing that if Freddy would say something as serious as before, he could not drive properly because of nervousness. When they arrived at Old Street, it was already bustling with people and all the breakfast shops were packed.

Freddy chose one that wasn't as crowded as the others because of its larger space and they sat down at a small table together.

They ordered famous breakfast dishes from Manches City like avocado bagels, soup dumplings, red bean porridge along with various cakes and pastries filling their table.

"Can we finish all this?" asked Freddy, looking at all the food on their table.
