Chapter 629: It's Better to Break Up and Go Our Separate Ways, Each Finding Peace
Bonnie didn't interrupt Haider and quietly sat listening to him finish speaking.
"I've already picked out the location for the studio with Eduard. Originally, we were planning on starting renovations when we returned from our hometown, but... he suddenly told me there was no need," Haider said as he looked at Bonnie.
"Evan told me about what happened with Black Market. He's taken over again," Haider continued. "As for why he suddenly broke up with you... I'm not exactly sure of the specific reason, but I don't think he really wants to break up with you. I know your position in his life."
"But he did say it," Bonnie replied.
Haider was momentarily speechless at Bonnie's response. He was also curious as to why Myles would suddenly want to break up with her.
In the past, if it were him, he would rather torment himself and even shamelessly go find Bonnie than say something like breaking up with her.
But this time around, Haider wasn't sure what had gotten into Myles.
And most importantly, they couldn't even find him now - that was the worst part of it all.
After hearing Myles' words, Bonnie remained silent for a while before saying: "Let him be. If he wants to break up then let him do it in front of me; I won't cling onto him."
Bonnie stood up after speaking and said: "Haider, there are still many things I need to attend to on my end so I'll head back first."
Haider wanted to keep her there but stopped himself before saying anything else: "If there's any news on my end then I'll let you know."
Bonnie hesitated for a few seconds before responding: "Okay."
Haider walked her out and Eduard appeared just in time: "Mr. Hughes, Miss Cooke." He took a couple steps forward towards them and added: "Miss Thompson is in the reception room."
"Haider you're busy so I'll go find Yanis and head back directly," Bonnie said as she looked towards Haider before walking away towards where she knew the reception room was located from previous visits at Gotrend Entertainment.
Yanis had called Zane earlier telling him that something came up here so Zane didn't have wait for her anymore - Yanis didn't bother mentioning anything else though before hanging up abruptly once done talking business over phone calls
Bonnie pushed open the door of reception room where Yanis sat looking down at their phone screen on sofa inside; she softly called out his name upon entering:"Yanis, let's go."Yanis stood up at the sound of Bonnie's voice and walked a few steps to her. "Did you guys talk it out?" he asked.
Bonnie nodded. "There wasn't much to talk about."
"What did Haider say?"
"He thinks Myles won't break up with me, but..." Bonnie trailed off and then shook her head. "It doesn't matter. If he wants to break up, then we should just do it. There are too many issues between us that we've been ignoring. It's better if we just go our separate ways."
Bonnie's change of heart was so sudden that even Yanis had trouble keeping up.
As they left Gotrend Entertainment, Yanis drove them back to the studio.
By the time they arrived, Linda and the others had already gone home for the day.
They parked in front of the studio but didn't get out of the car right away; instead, they sat there in silence for a while.
Finally, Bonnie spoke up and broke the quietness. "Yanis, let's go eat something delicious," she said with a hint of hunger in her voice.
"What do you want?" Yanis turned his head towards Bonnie's face for a moment before asking her what she wanted to eat.
"I want barbecue," Bonnie replied after thinking about it for a moment. "And some drinks too - life is too short not to enjoy ourselves."
Yanis didn't call her out on it; he knew that what Bonnie really wanted was alcohol rather than food.
In situations like this one, nothing beat sitting at a barbecue stand drinking beer without worrying about etiquette or technique - just drink as much as you wanted whenever you felt like it!
Yanis started his car again and headed towards a small night market nearby where they could find some good food stalls selling barbecued meat skewers along with other street foods such as fried chicken wings or grilled corn on cob etc...
The distance from their parking spot wasn't far so they walked together into one of those streets lined with various food vendors selling all sorts of delicacies including barbecued meats which made Yanis' mouth water slightly upon smelling them cooking over charcoal fire pits...
He wondered if Bonnie would end up drinking too much later on since she might have difficulty getting herself back home alone if she got drunk... So he chose one stall closest to their car: "Let's try this place." "Sure thing." Bonnie agreed without hesitation when Yanis suggested trying out that particular vendor's offerings first before deciding whether or not move onto another stall next door...
When they entered inside its premises though an owner greeted them warmly by shouting: "What would you like? Just pick whatever suits your fancy!"
Yanis took charge by grabbing two trays from counter display racks nearby while also picking some items based solely on what he knew were among favorites among things liked by both himself & also knowing well enough which ones were most likely going be enjoyed by his companion tonight...
After placing everything onto trays & paying cashier upfront (who gave him change), Yanis went ahead & grabbed two bottles each containing small amounts beer before returning back over where Bonny waited patiently near entranceway holding hers own tray full goodies ready start eating soon! Bonnie glanced at Yanis and took the drink from his hand. "You drank, who's driving?"
Yanis sat across from Bonnie. "We can call a designated driver."
Bonnie waved her hand. "Forget it, you're drunk, I'm drunk, we could get sold and not even know it. So just watch me drink."
Yanis didn't argue and nodded his head. He grabbed the corkscrew and opened the bottle for Bonnie. "Drink slowly, if you get too drunk, I might sell you too."
Bonnie chuckled. "Would you really?"
"What's there to be hesitant about? You don't even take care of yourself properly; why should I bother?"
As Bonnie listened to Yanis' words, she furrowed her brow slightly in confusion. "Do you have something against me?"
Yanis looked at her directly in the eyes and asked, "What would make you think that?"
"Do y'all want it spicy or not?" The owner turned around to ask.
Before Yanis could answer, Bonnie shouted out, "Yes! Extra spicy!"
The owner replied, "Alright then!"
After a few seconds of silence, Yanis finally spoke up,"Mild spice is fine with me."
Bonnie continued shouting out orders,"Extra extra spicy!"
Yanis sighed,"... Half mild spice, half extra spicy."
The owner was confused by their back-and-forth conversation, "Half-and-half?"
"Yes, half-and-half." Yanis confirmed.
"If there's something bothering you, you should just say it straight up instead of pretending like everything is okay. I can see right through your act."
Bonnie grabbed her drink, and took a big gulp before responding, "What am I pretending about? Who hasn't gone through a break-up before? You broke up with Zane, didn't ya? This is what they call sharing each other's sorrows."
Yanis lifted his gaze towards her as he heard those words come out of her mouth."Aren't ya supposed to defend him?"
Bonnie was taken aback for a moment as she stared at Yanis."Never mind, I guess this isn't really your topic. Let me text Stella instead."
With that said, Bonnie picked up her phone, and sent over an audio message to Stella. Stella responded quickly, sounding like she was eating while talking on the phone."What's going on?"
"I'm sending over my location. Come have some drinks with us!" Bonnie said excitedly.
Stella replied immediately, "Wow, you're feeling generous today. What made ya suddenly want to go drinking? Where are ya now, I'll come join ya for some drinks!"
Without hesitation, Bonni sent over their location. She added one last thing before ending the message: "Hurry up! We'll be waiting. Drunk or bust!"
"I'm coming right away!"
After sending off an audio message to Stella, Bonni fiddled around with her phone again. She suggested casually:"Should we invite Ivan along too?"Although Bonnie asked the question, she didn't give Yanis a chance to respond before hanging up the phone.
Yanis was left speechless.
