Chapter 695: I'm Just Retaliating Against Her for What She Did to Me, Yanis, and Anika.

Bonnie said, "Don't you think this is a good thing?"

Yanis glanced at her.

"Discovering and solving the problem early is better than waiting until after marriage. If this kind of problem arises later, it won't be as simple as breaking up; it will involve two families."

At this point, Bonnie sighed. "I really don't understand what this woman is thinking. She says she's going to get married and become a virtuous wife and mother in the future. When else will she have the chance to be carefree if not now?"

Yanis listened to Bonnie's words and asked, "What kind of thinking is that?"

Bonnie shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe she thinks there won't be any chances for her to be carefree after getting married, so she wants to let loose before tying the knot. Who knew it would backfire like this." Yanis didn't know how to comment on the woman's thoughts and didn't say anything more about it.

"Stella, why didn't you call me when you came?" Yanis asked.

Stella looked up at Yanis upon hearing his question but continued playing chess with Alfie. "I was afraid I'd disturb Mr. Lawrence; what if he doesn't introduce me any more business?"

Last time Zane had all female employees who were pregnant buy clothes from Stella's store with all expenses paid by him which made Stella earn a lot.

Yanis walked over and took a look at their game board, "You can't beat Alfie?"

Stella was unhappy upon hearing that remark, "Haven't you heard of surpassing your teacher? Being beaten by my own student means I have succeeded!" Bonnie couldn't help but laugh,"You're something else! Alfie taught himself."

"I give up! Let Bonnie play!" Stella said looking towards Alfie.

Alfie nodded his head, "Aunt Stella, you're really bad. Let Bonnie play instead."

Stella rolled her eyes,"..."

Bonnie sat down in Stella's place saying, "Watch my skills."

Stella pulled Yanis out," You guys play yourselves."

"Aren't you spending your whole morning with Mr. Lawrence?" asked Stella while holding onto Yanis' arm with an eager expression on her face.

"I went for a physical examination at the hospital. What are you thinking?" replied Yanis

Upon hearing that answer from Yanis, Stella turned her head slightly towards her and asked, "Is everything okay? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No, it was just routine check-up."

Stella nodded. "It's good to have regular check-ups."

"Going to see the new apartment this afternoon?"

"Are the water and electricity over there all set?"

Stella made a sound of yes. "Basically, everything is ready. We're going to take a look at the tiles and some other things that need to be ordered in advance so we can move quickly."

"So urgent?"

"Sandy suddenly said she wanted to get married that day, so I thought I'd get the house ready before she changed her mind. That way, when it's time for us to get married, I'll have fulfilled one of my wishes." Yanis nodded. "Okay, do you know anyone who can help? If not, we'll just go straight to International Furniture Center."

"Let's just go straight there," Stella replied.

"All right then," Yanis said before adding: "Wait for me while I use the restroom."

Stella nodded.

When they arrived at International Furniture Center later that afternoon, they ate first before selecting what they needed.

The two spent an entire afternoon ordering tiles as well as cabinets and sinks.

By the time they left International Furniture Center in the evening, Stella let out a sigh. "You're amazing! You know everything! If it were me doing this alone, I'd be fooled into not even knowing who I am!" "I did some research beforehand and kept two options open for myself," Yanis explained modestly.

Stella genuinely admired Yanis' intelligence. "You really are a genius!"

Just as Yanis was about to say something else, Zane called.

Yanis had no choice but answer it first: "Hello?"

"Are you working overtime tonight?"

"Nope," Yanis replied while gesturing towards Stella with her free hand."We're out looking at things for our house renovation. Are you going home now?"

"I'm on my way to your studio now. We'll have dinner at the Lawrence's Mansion."

Yanis answered after checking his watch. "If you're heading towards our studio now, I'll meet you there."

"All right," Zane agreed before hanging up.

Turning back towards Stella, Yanis said: "We should head back too. We're going out tonight, the Lawrence's Mansion."

"Oh," Stella said disappointedly."I was thinking about having dinner with Bonnie and Wendy tonight, but it looks like we won't be able to make it happen."

"Then you go with Bonnie and Wendy. We haven't been to the Lawrence's Mansion for a long time, and his grandparents are quite lonely at home. It would be better if Anika was there."

Stella nodded. "Okay, let's go back then. We'll eat next time." They both headed back to the studio.

At that moment, in the studio, Linda and Stanley were standing by the door watching nervously as Yanis and Stella talked by their car.

"Why do I feel like they're about to fight?" Linda whispered.

Stanley rolled his eyes at her remark. "Do you really think Mr. Lawrence would lay hands on a pregnant woman? Even if she wasn't pregnant, she's still a woman! Do you think Mr. Lawrence would hit a woman?"

"But their body language clearly shows that they want to fight," Linda argued.

Stanley thought for a moment before suggesting, "Why don't you call Yanis?"

"You call him instead; I'm keeping an eye on them just in case Mr. Lawrence does something rash," Linda replied confidently.

Just as Stanley was about to make the call, Bonnie suddenly appeared behind them and asked what was going on between Yanis and Stella.

"They've been here for ten minutes now but have only been talking by their car without us hearing anything specific," Stanley explained anxiously while pointing towards where Yanis and Stella were standing earlier.

Bonnie frowned slightly after observing them herself before asking if anyone had heard what they were saying; however, both of them shook their heads in response since it was too quiet for them to hear anything clearly enough from afar.

After hesitating briefly outside of the door with her hand raised up against it while thinking things over carefully inside her head first before finally deciding upon opening it slightly wider than before so that she could step out into view more easily without being noticed right away.

Bonnie spoke up: "Zane... can't you let Neve off easy since she treated you so well all those years? She has nothing left now except wanting peace of mind and living life happily again after everything that happened... is it too much trouble just granting her this one wish?"

Zane responded coldly: "She made her own choices which led to consequences according to law enforcement procedures - I don't have any say over how things turn out legally speaking."

"But didn't YOU manipulate everything so that Neve got sentenced all those years ago?"

Zane looked at Nancy with a cool expression. "Yes, I was just retaliating against what she did to me, Anika, and even Yanis. What's wrong with that?"
