Chapter 699: I will pay it back in the future.

Myles and Zane pushed their way through the crowd and immediately spotted Aurora standing in front of the sink, looking pale with a fire extinguisher in her hand. Her eyes were fixed on the person lying on the ground.

The man had a wound on his head, and blood was slowly flowing to one side.

"Is he dead?" asked Myles.

"He must have been hit on the back of his head. Look at all that blood," replied Zane as they heard murmurs from the surrounding crowd.

Zane rushed towards Aurora, took a quick glance at the fallen man, then turned to Myles and said: "Call an ambulance!"

Myles nodded and quickly grabbed his phone to make the call. He then checked for signs of breathing from the fallen man - it seemed like he had just passed out.

Zane walked up to Aurora and demanded: "Give me that thing you're holding."

Aurora looked startled upon hearing Zane's words. She raised her eyes defensively towards him but relaxed once she realized who it was. She then dropped her grip on the fire extinguisher with a loud thud onto the floor.

"I... I didn't mean it... he started it," stuttered Aurora nervously as she spoke.

Zane picked up the fire extinguisher from where it lay beside him while pulling Aurora closer by her arm. "Are you hurt?" he asked while keeping an eye on both her face as well as that of their victim lying nearby.

Aurora swallowed hard before answering nervously: "Did... did he die?"

"No, he just fainted," replied Zane shaking his head slightly in response to her question about whether or not their victim was dead or alive

The police arrived shortly after this incident occurred; they carefully lifted up our unconscious victim into an ambulance before questioning Aurora about what happened inside Maple House's restroom area earlier today?

After reviewing surveillance footage taken outside this bathroom area during these events leading up until now (including when our middle-aged male assailant first began attacking poor defenseless little old me), authorities decided that although we should be allowed home for now - we are still forbidden from leaving Manchester City until further notice is given by law enforcement officials involved in this case! Aurora whispered, "He... he's my boss. He said he wanted to discuss a collaboration today, so I came with him. But when we got here, he said the client couldn't make it and suggested we have dinner together. Halfway through the meal, he suddenly said he wasn't feeling well and asked me to accompany him to the restroom... and then things went downhill from there."

Aurora needed some extra money for Wu Fen's ongoing medical treatment which was becoming increasingly expensive. She had hoped that taking on some work would help her out but she never expected something like this.

After listening to Aurora's story, Zane didn't say anything more. "Do you want us to take you back home or do you need us to take you to the hospital?"

"No need," Aurora replied quickly. "I'll go back by myself."

"We'll give you a ride," Yanis interjected at just the right moment. "It's not easy getting a cab at this hour."

Aurora glanced over at Yanis before looking away again.

Zane didn't give Aurora any chance of refusal either as he spoke up again, "Yanis and I will wait here while I go get the car."

Myles told Bonnie they were leaving before following Zane out towards where their car was parked.

"Yanis," Bonnie lowered her voice as she turned towards him after Myles left with Zane in tow. "There's a wedding planning job tomorrow that Linda can't make it for because of cramps from her period coming on strong all of sudden - she needs time off urgently! You want in? It pays good!"

Yanis nodded his head slightly in agreement after hearing what Bonnie had proposed: "Sure thing! Just meet me at D-King Castle tomorrow morning and we'll drive over together."

"Okay," Bonnie agreed before turning her attention back onto Aurora who was still standing there quietly beside them both: "So Miss Green...are you looking for work?"

Aurora hesitated briefly upon hearing Bonnie's question before answering slowly: "I will have to start looking again soon...but only once everything is settled."

"I might have something for ya," Bonnie offered kindly.

Yanis looked over towards his friend curiously as if asking silently what kind of job it could be?

"Stella mentioned recently that she's been wanting another person working part-time down at her shop," explained Bonnie further when seeing Yanis' puzzled expression; "it's located near City Center Mall selling children's clothing...would ya be interested?"

"I've never sold clothes before...I'm not sure if I'd be any good..." responded Aurora uncertainly.

"No worries!" reassured Yanis warmly; "If you decide later on that it sounds like something worth trying out then let me know - I'll bring ya along myself!"Aurora hesitated for a few seconds. "Okay, thank you." "Bonnie, let's go," Yanis said as he waved goodbye to her and turned to Aurora.

Myles drove away and Zane pulled up beside them just as they were saying their goodbyes.

Yanis opened the back door for Aurora. "Get in."

Aurora thanked him softly before getting into the car.

The two of them dropped Aurora off at the entrance of No. 3 Hospital. Before she got out of the car, Zane called out to her, "Wait a minute."

Aurora stopped and turned around to face him. "What's up?"

Zane reached into his glove compartment and handed her a wad of cash. "Consider it borrowed money from me until you're financially stable enough to pay me back."

Aurora looked at the money in disbelief before hesitantly taking it from him. "I'll pay you back someday."

Zane nodded once before offering her another opportunity, "If you need help finding work, I can have someone look for something suitable."

"No need," Aurora replied softly."My sister-in-law helped me find something earlier today."

At this point, Zane glanced over at Yanis.

"Stella needs people right now so I suggested that she give it a try there instead since it's better than working somewhere unfamiliar where she doesn't know anyone," Yanis explained. Zane didn't say much more but simply nodded his head slightly towards Aurora."Go on inside then."

Aurora thanked him again before turning around and walking into the hospital.

"They've been through quite a lot," Yanis said quietly as he watched Aurora disappear inside.

Zane glanced in her direction once more but didn't say anything else."Let's go home," he said instead.

Yanis agreed with an affirmative grunt. They had been gone for so long that by now, it was almost ten o'clock when they finally arrived back at D-King Castle

"Auntie, why aren't you resting?" As soon as they walked through the door, Yanis was greeted by their housekeeper who came up to meet them immediately upon hearing their arrival

"I was thinking about taking tomorrow off and going back home," Auntie replied respectfully

"How far is your hometown from here?" asked Yanis while Auntie found some slippers for him

"It's not too far away; just Seacity."
