Immortal Desire
Chapter 59

The elders were almost done subjugating the beasts’ intruders in the capital. The potion that Claudia made helped them a lot, although the number of casualties was more than what they expected. Those who can heal others started to spread out to help. One person came to their mind when they found out a lot of survivors but were severely injured. Rupert Millavo. The only person that could treat all the injured at that moment, should be him. Aside from learning medicine, he was known for treating patients with a hundred percent chance of living. After he captured the main threat and the mastermind behind the beast’s attack, Cisto went to the hospital to check on the doctor. He was expecting Rupert to be tending to the patient and couldn’t believe it when he saw him fighting against an alpha.

“Oh, this redhead was here all along then?” Cisto muttered when he recognized Rupert’s opponent. They were battling in the air. The enemy had the upper hand. He initially wanted to stop the fight and lock the werelion, so they could focus on helping the survivors but there was something in Rupert’s eyes that he couldn’t set aside. I was grieved and angry. ‘Why would he take all the trouble to fight against an enemy whose way is beyond his league?’ That question remained in the elder’s head until he remembered something. ‘Claudia… where’s Claudia?’ He looked around the building and found no trace of the lady. The two were still busy with their fight. He took the chance to sneak inside. The broken glass on the window caught his attention and there he saw a fresh drop of b***d. He bent down, proceeding with his investigation. The taste of b***d was different, if he was right, it should be Claudia’s b***d. The b***d of each clan differs in taste and smell. When he tasted the b***d, he knew it was from a Lachouves. ‘Did something happen to her?’ He stood up and felt a faint hint of magic in the air. ‘This… it’s witch’s magic. No, it’s different.’ Cisto was alarmed.

“Ugh!” Rupert g*****d. The alpha clawed him on the side. His flesh was ripped apart and some fell on the floor. “Bring back Claudia!” he yelled. His body glowed and in an instant the damages he took disappeared in thin air. His strength increased while he thought about the reality that Claudia would never return. “I won’t forgive you!”

Cisto was surprised. He felt the enormous pressure surrounding Rupert. The doctor looked completely different from who he used to be. Just in one strike, Rupert blasted the whole building. His enemy who took a direct hit fell on the ground but was barely harmed.

“You overestimated yourself,” Leo mumbled. He growled. It was his favorite attack since he could easily defeat his enemies with just a growl. His plan backfired when the heavens roared. The dark clouds that covered the blue sky were divided into half. A bright light descended from the heavens as a group of people with white wings on their backs appeared.

“The holy celestials,” Cisto muttered. The bright light was overwhelming, forcing everyone to prostrate themselves.

“A word from heaven,” one of them spoke. “Stop this meaningless war if you don’t wish to perish. All of you!”

The earth rumbled and the sky was filled with golden bolts of lightning as the thunder continued to roar.

Meanwhile…

In the northeast region of the empire, the fierce battle continued.

It was black against white. The vampire lord continued his blazing strikes. His loathe grew stronger when the alpha showed no fear. With the dark smoke surrounding him, the curse which he was good at amplified as his eyes turned crimson. He was too fast for his opponent who chose to stay in one place. The clean, white fur of the wolf was not just for a show. It absorbed all the b***d demon’s assaults and purified all the miasma coming from the vampire’s curse. The alpha grinned when he noticed the agitation in his enemy’s face. He was glad that the lord had finally taken the battle seriously. They were both enjoying their heated fight when Latina interrupted. She jumped in between them, landing on her, she squatted. Bending down, her palms were pressed on the ground. Her fangs were dripping in her b***d. And on her lovely face, madness was painted.

“Latina!” Sebastian’s voice came out louder than Mathew’s when they both called her at the same time. They hissed at each other and drifted their sight on the lady. She lifted her head and glared at the wolf. Her sharp gazes pierced through the alpha’s heart. After seeing what Latina did to his rival, Sebastian threw his head to the side and stuck his tongue out, mocking the other. His smug face was wiped away when he felt Latina’s presence behind him. The vampire lord shivered when she grabbed his neck. Her presence was filled with malice and the hatred she emitted through her touch was beyond menace.

After Latina had given birth, she felt better as if nothing happened. She was indeed fine, thanks to the ring she found inside the sacred cave. It saved her life and the baby from danger. But that was all the ring was for. It could keep her moving no matter what happens, though it didn’t mean that it would keep her stomach full all the time. The monstrous Latina in front of the men who fell for her was her true nature. She was born a vampire and will always be. Her thirst for b***d would never stop yet could be sufficed.

“Go ahead,” Sebastian mumbled. He could tell from her looks. Latina wanted his b***d and his b***d will only be the one that could satisfy her.

She forcefully dragged his neck down to her mouth from the back. Her nails pierced through his skin, making him bleed. The sweet fragrance from his oozing juices hyped up her appetite. She was no longer thirsty, instead, she felt worse. The urge to stab the man in her arms to make him bleed endlessly got stronger as she sniffed the aroma of the red liquid flowing out through his wounds. Drawing her parted mouth to the spot where his vein was most visible, she punctured it with her fangs. Her eyes rolled heavenwards as she continued to slurp his b***d like it was the tastiest beverage she ever had. Pulling him closer with her arm, she tilted his head to the other side, showing his yet bitten part of the neck. She kissed his skin before digging holes in it. A smile curved on her lips when the b***d gushed out of his white skin. Latina licked it slowly, wiping the juice with her tongue. Once done, she buried her fangs again. With her eyes closed, she sipped more. “Aha!” she exclaimed after quenching her thirst. “Thanks for the treat,” she whispered to him before letting him go.

Mathew was horrified as he watched the lady he sought to be with him for the rest of his life, preyed on the vampire lord who was on par with him earlier in the fight. So many questions started to pop inside his head. ‘Would I be able to accept her after what she had done? She’s a vampire, so what? Drinking b***d is one of her necessities.’ The alpha tried to forget all the lingering questions since he knew the answer but refused to accept it. His eyes darted on the vampire lord who didn’t struggle for once while being fed on. He kind of felt sorry for him who fell on the ground, barely moving. “Right, you’re also one of those demons who live for b***d,” Mathew said, laughing. He shifted back to his human form, naked. “And even after seeing you like that…” he walked closer to Latina who was quietly watching him while he drew closer to where she was standing. “I’m still certain that it’s you whom I’ve been looking for,” he was sincere while saying those words. His green eyes drifted from her bright orbs down to her glistening lips. “Latina, please be mine.”

Sebastian’s ears perked when he heard the alpha’s voice. He coughed. Latina did him good. It was only several hours since she had his b***d in the Wyslien kingdom but the lady’s craving was endless. He waited a few seconds before he grabbed Latina away from the alpha who was about to k**s her. “Eh, sneaking while I’m not looking? Not allowed,” the lord shook his head. He cupped Latina’s face and scolded her. “You can’t just let anyone k**s you when I’m unconscious. I didn’t let you drink my b***d so you’ll have the energy to waste on some trash.”

Latina’s face turned red. She wasn’t letting Mathew have his way. She was waiting for a perfect time to attack the alpha. If she needed to choose the victor between the two, she would pick Sebastian. There was no more argument about that.

“You’re still alive,” Mathew smirked. “Why don’t we continue?”

“Sure- Latina!” Sebastian shouted when he saw a sword of lightning coming from the sky. It was aiming directly at Latina. He mustered his strength and speed to protect her. In a split second, Latina fell on the ground away from him while he took the hit from the sky to save her.

“Sebastian!!!”

“Latina de Llava. Your existence disrupted the order of peace in this world. You were supposed to undergo the tribulation. The heavens have ordered to strike you with lightning as a trial and this man has saved you. You were allowed to live the life you wanted from now on but only when you are with this man,” said the man in white garments. He had wings on his back and was protected by a warm light.

“Remember, your presence will continue to ruin those around you unless you are together with the man who saved you. The war has ended. Go back to where you belong and think not about disturbing the peace. This is not the time of war yet, for a real war has yet to be decided.”
