Chapter 61:Epilogue

In the Northern part of the Vacil Empire, there was a specific region where the temperature never rises despite the season changing. The cold was dreadfully unbearable. It was known as the snow paradise for the snow never stops falling throughout the year but for a few, it was accurately called the hell’s gate.

There was a legend about hundreds of years ago, about the b***d demon king who emerged from the snowy ground in the north. His skin was as pale as snow while his hair was the opposite, as it was black like the starless midnight sky. With eyes as clear as the ice, he looked ethereal. Walking in the ice desert, barefooted, his crimson b***d tarnished the pure white surface. It was said that he rose from hell to create a world where demons, humans, and other races coexist. He wandered to different lands with nothing but his cursed b***d which possessed great power. In his journey, he met people with whom he shared his b***d, blessing them with the power it contained. The news spread like wildfire and many families wished to have a drop of his b***d.

One day, a holy celestial of heavens came down and gave him a warning. Ignoring the alarm given to him, the b***d demon king continued his journey until he discovered the kingdom of fairies. The fairies were known to be the protector of order and were responsible for eliminating any threat that could cause the world to ruin. When the fairy king discovered the real identity of the b***d demon king, he staked his life to caged him in a sacred spell in order to stop the evil lurking within him. Nobody knew what exactly happened to the b***d demon king after what happened. Some believed that he was still alive and hiding somewhere while the majority thought that he was sent back to hell.

The tale has been passed down through generations and was slowly forgotten by the young ones as time went by. There were only several races who never neglected the possibility of the b***d demon king’s sudden arrival. While humans laughed off the topic of the b***d demons’ existence, their faith would soon cause their downfall.

(Approximately 997 years later after the first appearance of the B***d Demon King) – The Northern Region

It was in the middle of the afternoon and the sun was expected to rise to its highest point but the glaziers and blizzards seemed not to care about the bright sunlight and continued to rampage at their own pace.

“It’s about time,” a man wearing a black hood said to the woman standing behind him. “The King is coming,” he added. The woman nodded her head and chanted a spell to create a barrier around them.

Just like what happened in the legend, the frozen ground cracked and a powerful force emerged from the ground. Time stopped, leaving the ball of energy solely floating in the air. The sphere was filled with powerful elements, packed all together. It slowly landed while the forces inside were dissipating.

“Uwaaah! Waaaah! Waaaah!”

The infant’s cry brought back the time and the world continued to move once again.

“What in the world is this?” The man inside the barrier asked his companion when they saw the baby laying down on the cold snow, crying. “Where’s his Majesty?”

The woman dispelled the barrier and walked towards the crying baby. She took off her cloak and used it to wrap on the trembling infant.

“Oh no!” The man exclaimed after realizing something. “This baby appeared just when we’re expecting His Majesty! Could it be that…”

“Foolish! How can you call yourself as the loyal servant of the great king if you can’t recognize him in just a glance?” the woman rumbled. She brought the baby closer to her and turned around to leave the place.

“Thana! Where are you going?” The man who started to get a grasp of what was going on called.

The woman halted but didn’t look back. With a dangerous smile on her lips, she answered: “To the Vacil Empire.”

The man and woman together with the baby headed to their destination. As they drew closer to the borders of the empire, thunder clapped as lightning flashed, giving them a warm welcome.
