It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 53

Lucia was sitting in front of the mirror taking off her makeup. The light caught the diamond on the ring, stunning it for a moment with a sparkle of bright light. She lowered her hand and looked at the elegant engagement ring. She carefully removed it from her finger and put it in the jewelry box. The ring she kept on her finger was plain silver. Once Lucia put on a piece of jewelry, it was very rare for her to take it off. It was for this reason that she did not easily agree to wear new jewelry.

“Hmm? Why did you take it off?” Malcolm asked softly.

He had come out of the bathroom just in time to see Lucia take off the ring and put it in the box. “I’m sure every woman loves jewelry, right? » Malcolm looked at Lucia curiously.

“It was embarrassing,” Lucia replied simply.

Diamonds were expensive. And the more expensive they were, the more carefully they had to be handled. This included daily activities. Lucia found herself having to take it off every time she washed her hands, worked or took a shower. She had never thought of herself as some sort of princess. Although it was nice to have luxury items like this, it became a burden in the end. It didn’t suit his lifestyle at all. She was a working woman.

“Okay,” Malcolm said and offered nothing more.

“Why did you choose it?” The silver ring?” Lucia asked, turning in her seat to look at Malcolm.

“It’s simple and elegant. It can withstand the harshness of time and the abuse of everyday life,” Malcolm said seriously.

Lucie remained silent. She had always loved silver objects. While silver was nowhere near as luxurious or glamorous as diamonds or gold, she just liked it more. Lucia found that to be a particularly charming trait about it. Not only was it easy to maintain, but it was also resistant to the wear and tear that would usually break a more precious metal. Even though it was dirty, it still shined after being cleaned.

Lucia gave the silver ring a small smile and continued to remove her makeup. Malcolm remained where he was; still and silent. Lucia managed to remaining calm under his intense gaze for a little while, but eventually she started to become uncomfortable. She turned to look at him questioningly, wondering what he wanted. Malcolm just gave her a slight smile, encouraging him to continue. Lucia studied him for a moment longer before continuing to remove her makeup.

Once her face was cleaned, Lucia put away all her things and headed to the bathroom. She didn’t even glance at Malcolm on the way. She didn’t want to give him any indication that she was inviting him to come along. But as she turned to close the bathroom door, she was surprised to find that Malcolm was following her.

“Haven’t you already taken a shower?” Lucia asked, raising an eyebrow at him, “I did. But I want to take a shower with you,” Malcolm said shamelessly.

Looking up into his eyes, Lucia could see the l**t glistening in their depths. Malcolm reached out and took her hand. Lucia looked down, then looked at him. A seductive and inviting smile stretched across her lips as she asked, “Aren’t you tired?” If not, by all means, join me…”

Malcolm wasted no time. He tightened his grip on Lucia’s hand and entered the bathroom, pushing open the door closed behind him. With deceptively gentle and careful movements, he removed Lucia’s clothes. She in turn stripped him of hers. Together they entered the shower and turned on the water. They stood quietly as the hot water slid over their naked bodies in a sort of sensual caress.

Malcolm grabbed the shower gel, squeezed some into the palm of his hand and lathered it until it was thick and soapy . Then he ran his hands over Lucia’s body, gently washing every inch of her. Lucia sighed contentedly, enjoying the feeling of being spoiled. She felt like a little kitten, purring at the touch of her master. In his Happily, she reached out and hugged Malcolm around his waist. With a warm smile, she snuggled closer to him, reveling in the warm feeling of his bare skin against hers.

As Malcolm moved his hand over her body, leaving trails of bubbles and soap, the water took him away. The more he looked after her, the more flirtatious his touch became. He knew her body, he knew where she was most sensitive and where she liked to be touched. He leaned down and kissed her. Starting with his forehead, then his eyelids, then his lips, his collarbones, down to his lips. Every touch of his lips was filled with warmth and affection.

Once she was clean, he grabbed a towel from the nearby shelf and wiped it first, then dried himself. He tossed the towel aside once he was sure they were both thoroughly dried, and picked Lucia up in his arms to carry her to the bedroom.

The bedding had been changed to a bright, festive red. It was different from the usual color. Lying against the bright red sheets, Lucia’s fair skin looked all the more seductive, all the more inviting. The color suited him well. It made her sexy in a way Malcolm couldn’t describe. He lay down next to her, gently pulling her into his arms. He held her for a moment, staring into her eyes. Just being near each other, in this warm, calm space, was enough to light a fire of l**t between them. Hearts began to race, and suddenly the outside world meant nothing to them. It was just them, in that space, at that time. Neither past, nor present, nor future.

The night was already well advanced. Even the moon had already hidden its face from the silent world below, as if giving the couple privacy as their gasps and m***s of pleasure filled the room.

Lucia would have slept all day if the sunlight hadn’t peeked through a gap between the curtains. Slowly, she turned to look at the clock on the wall, her body protesting her movements. It was already 10 o’clock. She would have liked to lie there a little longer, but she sat up with a hiccup when she saw the time. She poked her head around the other side of the bed and was even more surprised when she saw Malcolm lying there looking at her. He wasn’t supposed to be here at this time of the morning.

“Wildcat,” Malcolm said softly.

Lucia looked from Malcolm to the bright red sheets they were tangled in. Then she remembered. She was on her honeymoon. She wouldn’t have to get up early to go to work for the next two weeks. Lucia looked down at the calm expression on Malcolm’s face. Why did it all seem unreal? Was it because yesterday’s ceremony had been so beautiful that she felt like she was dreaming? Why didn’t she feel like a newlywed?

“What are you so worried about this early in the morning?” Malcolm asked lazily.

He reached out and gently pulled Lucia to lie down with him. He gently cradled her head on his arm and gave her a gentle good morning k**s. As they lay together, he ran his fingers through her hair. He often played with her hair. He loved the way it felt on his skin, he loved how soft it was.

“If you don’t stop playing with my hair, you’re going to end up ripping it all out,” Lucia growled as she reached out and yanked the strand of hair from Malcolm’s grip.

“Well, in that case, get up. We have two whole weeks of honeymoon to enjoy!” He suddenly sat up and swung his legs out of his bed. He stood up, stretched, patted Lucia’s butt and headed to the bathroom.

Lucia watched Malcolm step back in surprise. She never expected a honeymoon to be part of the deal. The wedding Malcolm had planned for her was incredible. But a honeymoon too? She really didn’t expect it. Two weeks? Just the two? Unemployed?

Not wanting to waste a single moment, Lucia headed to another bathroom to clean up for the day. She had always been a person who loved spontaneous trips. She loved being able to go where she wanted, do what she wanted, without having to follow a route.

By the time she was finished in the bathroom, Malcolm was already dressed in casual clothes, waiting for her in the bedroom. He smiled when he saw how excited and giddy she looked.

“What do you have planned?” Malcolm asked.

“I’ll go see Sophia this morning. We could both fly to Nepal later in the afternoon. Would that be okay?” Lucie asked.

“That sounds good to me,” Malcolm said with a nod. “I’ll ask Bob to book the plane tickets. We should be able to leave this evening.”

“Let’s meet at the airport this afternoon then? I’m traveling very light. I promise. I already put my clothes in that little suitcase over there. Would you mind “He’ll take it to the airport for me?” Lucia said with a pout, gesturing to the suitcase that sat in the corner of the room. “Sure thing.”

Malcolm nodded.

With the rest of the day sorted, Lucia grabbed her backpack and left. She had already arranged to meet Sophia. But she was almost past their scheduled meeting time. She had to give Sophia what she had asked for before to leave S City. She didn’t know when the two of them would see each other again.

As Malcolm watched Lucia leave, he wore a smile so faint it was almost invisible. There was something in the way he looked at her that erased his natural cold demeanor. But it wasn’t long before that cold light returned to his eyes.

“Wildcat, what will you do one day when your world is no longer perfect? »

Lucia and Sophia had arranged to meet at the Pastasweet restaurant.

By the time Lucia arrived, Sophia was already waiting for her. Sophia looked up at Lucia as she approached. She smiled rather strangely, in an almost disconcerting way.

“Do you know how scary you look when you smile like that?” What’s so fun anyway?” Lucia asked bitterly as she sat down.

“You must have had a wild night, judging by all the hickeys on your neck,” Sophia managed to splutter before burst out laughing.

Lucia immediately looked at her reflection in the window closest to her. She gritted her teeth, barely managing to suppress a curse when she saw the state of her neck. Was Malcolm some kind of beast? That was the only explanation for why he would be so rude in bed. Lucia’s expression only made Sophia laugh even harder.

“Stop it! Is this what you wanted?” Lucia did her best to ignore Sophia’s rowdy laughter and reached into her bag.

It was the box her mother had left her, and inside, the bracelet. Sophia was only interested in the bracelet, the box meant nothing to her. Lucia had only brought the box with it as a precaution to keep the bracelet safe. It was also so much easier to carry the bracelet like that.

“Where have you seen a bracelet that looked like it? Don’t all jade bracelets look exactly the same?” Lucia asked Sophia in confusion.

“It’s complicated and hard to explain. It all started when I saw a box that looked like yours. I started digging and ended up hearing about a legend related to a bracelet with a description similar to yours. I remembered your bracelet, so I asked you about it,” Sophia quickly explained.

“Sophia, you’re crazy! This is what happens when you surround yourself with these weird spiritual things all day. If you spend all your time filling your head with stuff about corpses and coffins, sooner or later, you’re going to lose your mind,” Lucia said, clicking her tongue and shaking her head at her friend’s wild obsession. Now that Sophia was addicted to this thing, there was no stopping her.

“Okay, but it’s not about me. Just let me take some pictures and you can be on your way. So, what’s the plan for your honeymoon? It’s been two weeks, right? ” Sophia asked as she took out her camera and took a few photos of the box and bracelet. Then she put everything away and gave the box back to Lucia. She settled into her seat, placing her hands on the table in a way that indicated she was ready to chat.

“First we’re going to Bhaktapur. I’m meeting Malcolm at the airport later this afternoon. Actually, would you mind taking these things and keeping them safe? I don’t want to take them in honeymoon with me. Keep them safe and I’ll collect them when I get back. It gives you more time to study them properly,” Lucia said, nonchalantly directing the items towards Sophia. “Okay, I’ll take

them keep it for yourself,” Sophia said with a glint of interest in her eyes.

While photos were a great resource to have, nothing could ever compare to studying the real thing. Until now, she was reached a dead end in her research efforts. It was frustrating. I felt like every time she got close to something, the lead would disappear and she would go back to the beginning. Oddly enough, the more she investigated, the more secrets she discovered. But that didn’t interest him. To her, it was nothing more than a story worth investigating.

Sophia carefully packed Lucia’s box in her bag. When she had time later, she would carefully study the bracelet and see if she could find anything.

Once their food arrived, silence fell around the table as the two began to eat. While Sophia loved to eat, Lucia was starving. She hadn’t eaten breakfast that morning and was unable to resist the tantalizing smell of the food. Food was one of the most important things in life. Without food, the world would come to a standstill.

When they finished eating, they ordered a pot of fragrant tea and continued chatting. As their conversation faded to nothing, they sat quietly reading novels on their phones together. Their concentrated silence was broken only by an occasional comment on their respective novels. Close friends didn’t need to talk constantly to be comfortable in each other’s presence. Sometimes it was nice to just sit together in silence, each occupied with their own thoughts and actions. But if someone had something to say, it was always nice to know someone was listening. A good friendship was like a steady stream; always present and unstoppable.

“Okay Sophia, I think I need to go. I don’t want to miss the plane. Next time we meet, let’s go out for a drink,” Lucia said, glancing at her watch. , then to Sophia, who was still reading her novel.

“So soon? Let me drive you to the airport. I’ll leave S City tomorrow too,” Sophia said, also looking at her watch. She was quite amazed at how quickly time passed when you were having fun.

Lucia shrugged her shoulders and did not refuse. They called the server and paid the bill. They quickly checked that they had everything then got up and rushed to Sophia’s car. It didn’t take long before they were speeding down the road towards the airport.

Sophia stopped the car at the entrance to the departure hall. Lucia got out of the car, waved at Sophia, and turned to leave. But she stopped when Sophia called her.

“Lucy.”

“Yes? Is something wrong?” Lucia asked, turning around to face her friend.

“Promise me you’ll be happy,” Sophia said slowly, enunciating each word deliberately. “I don’t care why you married him or if you love each other. Just promise me you’ll be happy.”

“I will. Have a good trip. Goodbye, Sophie.”

That said, Lucia turned and headed towards the departure hall without waiting for Sophia’s response. Malcolm was waiting for him at the door.

Now their journey has officially begun.
