Kiss of A Titan
Chapter 31

The last lap was the last routine training the day for the athletes and Coach Robbins shifted the next routine training to the next day after dismissing everyone with an order to get back to attend the lessons and it was only after Richard returned back to class without getting reprimanded by the teacher that it occurred to me that those who were athletes were allowed to skip classes but only under authorized supervision of the coach which would explain the reason why Coach Robbins was always seen busy with his notepad whenever the Titans were undergoing a training session.

After settling down in class, Richard didn't pay much attention to the teacher and judging from the way he was uneasy on his seat, I could feel that something was clearly wrong with every bit of how he sat on his chair with his hands on his desk.

During the lesson, He was so lost in thought that the teacher caught him daydreaming twice for acting awkward which didn't seem to arise as a side effect from pushing himself too hard since he wasn't sweating neither was he showing sign of tiredness but what was emanating out of him was signs of distressful discomfort and I could tell that he had a lot on his mind after the brief practice in the stadium which I couldn't pinpoint the reason of the actual cause the entire he uneasily kept staring into space as he sat on his seat behind me and it was obviously written on his face that he wanted to discuss something of great importance I was suspecting had to do with the fact that I was going to joined the athlete team like he had suspected.

The rest of the lessons for the day ended briefly thirty minutes away from the usual time of closure for everyone to leave for their homes and the hallway was again crowded with departing students trooping out of their class for the main exit in different number of pairs just like the three of us walking in the midst of the stampede with intentions of our own. I didn't quite wait long enough to figure out what made her start acting weird around me and left to find Chloe also storming out of her class at the bottom school corridor with Ryan meeting her at the door of her class in the midst of the rowdy passageway.

Richard followed the crowd climbing the stairs from upstairs and came downstairs into the roaming stampede of students plodding towards the main exit. This time he wasn't accompanied by his two friends and once he saw me talking with Chloe and her boyfriend at the passageway, he instantly had other intentions on how he wanted to spend the afternoon for the rest of the day.

He forced his way through the crowd heading straight to where I was, not minding the fact that there were too many people he came across on his way when walking to meet me.

Not only was Ryan and Chloe overwhelmed to see that he came to our midst unexpectedly, but I was taken aback to see Richard intrude into our brief conversation without considering that he awkwardly seemed like a total stranger to all three of us the moment he found his way to our midst. It was all awkward for all three of us to see him standing beside us wanting something that we were too terrified to inquire about.

"Huh...I know this may seem uncomfortable but can I talk to Rosalie for a while?", He asked since he was the first to recover from the awkward situation he landed us in. I stared at him in shock but quickly brought myself back to normal as soon as he questioned Chloe who was too appalled to speak.

"Uh....", "Go ahead, we're leaving anyway...Chloe, let's go, alright", Ryan answered, dragging along Chloe and leaving me behind with Richard. I saw Chloe glancing back as Ryan pulled her away towards the exit and felt a bit awkwardly startled waiting behind with Richard.

"So, let's cut to the chase, what do you want from me?", I said with my hands folded as I tried to put up the best I can to wear an angry look. He didn't seem quite intimidated by the way I looked at him and the strange expression seemed to me that he was truly disturbed by what he had in mind. I waited expectantly for him to say something but he remained silent, searching for answers on my face which he knows too well to be hidden inside of him. I was getting a bit nervous and uncomfortable with the way he intently kept peering at me in a sort of way that his eyes seemed to be boring into my mind.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked, feeling quite uneasy with his silence as well as his queer look.

"I just can't figure out why you keep on getting close to me", "Is it about me joining the athletic team the reason why you want to see me?", I asked rudely but he didn't flare up even though he was clearly angry about something. "Not entirely", "Don't get the wrong idea that you are the reason I'm joining the team if that's what you are here to find out", A brief smirk appeared on his lips and it confirmed that he must have thought of that before coming to confront me..

"I did think of that but that's not the reason why I'm here", "That's a relief. Just so you know I'm have my own reasons for meeting up with Coach Robbins", "I really don't know what your intentions are for joining the athletic team but it is quite clear that we'll be stuck together for the rest of the summer", "Stuck together? What exactly do you mean by that?", "Let me make it simple for you to understand", "I'm listening", I replied and rested my back on the locker. He drew closer and tightened his grip on his backpack.

"I will tell you but here's not the place for a private discussion", "Then where should we talk?", "The gym would be perfect", he said enjoining me to accompany him.
