Two months later…

I am pacing around in my room as I finish getting my dress on. It was my wedding day and I was feeling nervous. My dress was beautiful and Natalia made it fit me perfectly. It was a strapless dress, but she made sleeves that I slipped on my arms. The sleeves went from my wrist to just above my elbows. Leaving my shoulders still exposed. The silky dress went down to my ankles with a small train in the back. It was embroidered with white gems and pearls in the shape of moonflowers.

I had a bit of a baby bump, but my mates said it only adds to my beauty. Everyone was so excited to not only plan a wedding but to plan for our new arrivals too. Kai has still been keeping a sharper eye on me and doesn’t like it one bit when I go anywhere without him. He has even been hating going to school here because he is away from me for so long and we have gotten a few calls from his teachers about being a bit short tempered with the other kids. Mostly the boys.

Thankfully he is going to a school that only the supernatural attend so no risk of him harming any humans or exposing our world to them, but I have been getting more worried about him fitting into this world. Riley seems to adjust just fine and we even got them to leave their swords home when they go to school. Even Estarossa is stumped on what could be wrong with Kai.

‘Jasmine will be here for the wedding. Maybe she can help us understand what is happening with Kai.’ Artemis said. ‘I hope so.’ I replied. It would be hard for Kai if he can not keep his dragon under control. We survive by blending in with the humans and keeping our worlds divided. I hear a knock on my door. “Come in.” I called out.

I turned and saw just the person I was thinking about. Jasmine walked in, holding a small box in her hand. “Hello Melody. I brought something special for you.” She said with a smile. “Oh Jasmine, I am so glad you are here. I missed you.” I ran up and hugged her. She has been an amazing sister to me and treats my family with nothing but respect. My brothers are so lucky to have her as their mate.

I pulled back from the hug and noticed her eyes. They looked normal. She still had one red and one blue eye, but the whites of her eyes were no longer black. “What happened to your eyes?” I asked. She smiled. “Estarossa and Sabrina have been experimenting with different herbs from both here and Edolas. They came up with some eye drops that make my eyes appear normal to others. That way I can blend in with the human world like you do.” She said.

“That is amazing, and speaking of blending… I am worried about Kai.” I said. Jasmine sat down on the couch and waited for me to continue. “Kai seems so much more aggressive when other males look at me for longer than necessary and we have gotten a few phone calls from the school about his temper with his class, mostly the boys.” Jasmine nodded her head, and then looked at my stomach. “Does he usually try to stand in front of your stomach or at least to the side of you?” She asked.

She does not seem surprised in the slightest. “Yes, and his eyes always slit into his dragon eyes.” I told her. “Are you having a boy or a girl?” She asked. “I am having twins… one boy and one girl. We are going to make the announcement after the wedding and during the reception.” I answered. “What does any of this have to do with Kai?” I asked.

“Because Kai is mated to your daughter.” Jasmine said with a smirk. I felt my jaw hit the floor. “What?” I asked. Jasmine smiled and laughed at my shocked face. “Kai is a dragon. After a dragon shifts they are able to find their mate at any time, no matter if their mate is of age or not. Dragons can live for centuries so after we shift we are able to detect where our mates are.” Jasmine explained. “But my child is not even born yet and Kai told us that beast humans find their mates at 18 like we werewolves do.” I said. “Because that is when all beast humans, even dragons, first shift. Though since Kai was forced to shift at the age of 10, his dragon instincts are starting to kick in.” She said.

“Does he know?” I ask. Jasmine shakes her head. “No, because after his first shift I ordered Titan not to inform him until he was of age. Dragons are very possessive over their mates, even more so than other shifters I have encountered. It is bad enough with Titan knowing. If Kai was to know, he would not be able to hold back his desire for his mate. Hopefully it would be easier for him to understand that he has to wait until she is of age.” Jasmine explained.

“What about Riley?” I asked. She was part dragon even though she shifted into a wolf. “Riley knows about Kai, but she is also ordered not to say anything. As for her mate… she will not find her mate unless they are at least 17, but she would still have to be 18 to sense them.” I nod in response. “Is there anything we can do to help Kai for now?” I ask. “All we can do is ask Estarossa or Sabina to make some kind of medication that will help Titan seppress his need to claim and be with his mate, but the only other option would be to keep your daughter far away from Kai until they are both of age.” She said with a sad look.

“Lets try the medication first and I will talk with Luca, Drake, and Jeremiah about this.” I said. Jasmine nodded and then handing me the little box she had in her hands. “This is a gift that is considered lucky when a female finds their mate.” She said with a gentle smile.

I take the box and open it. Inside was a beautiful golden japanese style hair pin with a bright pink peony flower on the end. “Oh my goddess. Jasmine this is beautiful.” I said as I lifted it from the box. “I made it with you in mind. Peonies stand for a few different things. Love, honor, happiness, and beauty. All of the things that fit you perfectly.” Jasmine said with a smile. I felt tears of happiness start to form in my eyes. “Thank you so much Jasmine. I absolutely love it. Can you help me put it in my hair? I want to wear it today. It will be my ‘something new’.” I said with a small laugh.

Jasmine got up and came over to stand behind me, but she had a weird expression. “What do you me by something new?” She asked as she adjusted my vail and slid the brand new hair pin into my hair. “Oh there is just this old saying about what a bride needs to have the prefect wedding. It goes ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.’” I told her. She nods her head.

“Normally it is suppose to be from a relative or friend that is already married, but I absolutely love your gift and want everyone to see it today.” I said. Jasmine smiled and gave me a soft hug from behind. “Thank you. I hope you will help me when I marry your brothers one day.” She said. “Oh absolutely. You will be my sister and us sisters have to stick together. Especially since the male to female ratio leaves us so out numbered.” I said the last part with a laugh. Jasmine joined in.

We were brought back to reality when someone knocked on the door. “Come in.” I called out. The door opened and mama and my fathers came inside. “Oh my baby girl. You look so beautiful.” Mama said with a huge smile. She came over and hugged me tightly. “Thank you mama.” I said hugging her back.

After breaking free from my mama’s grasp I did a little princess twirl for my dads. “What do you think?” I asked them with a grin. They all smile brightly at me. “You look prefect, my little princess.” Dad said. “Truly beautiful, baby girl.” Daddy said. “You look like the wonderful princess you are, sweetheart.” Papa said. I smile big and hug each of my dads and give them a k**s on the cheek. “Are you ready?” Dad asked, holding out his elbow for me to take. I take it and nod. “Yup. I can’t keep my sexy grooms waiting.” I said with a laugh. Mama and Jasmine joined in as my fathers rolled their eyes as we made our way to the hall where I would marry the loves of my life.
