Episode 24

Luca’s POV

After a few hours of training with my wolf. I feel a bit tired, but also more connected with Remus. I should be able to protect Melody or at the very least fight alongside her now than the last time we ran into rogues. We were having lunch when Ethan dropped his sandwich down on the plate, and Terrance dropped his glass of tea, shattering as it hit the floor. Both of them clutched onto their right shoulder. “What is wrong?” I asked. Ethan and Terrance looked at each other. “Melody!” They yelled in unison. I shot up from my chair, knocking it over. “ZEZAR! FIND HER NOW!” I roared.

Without hesitation, Zezar rummaged through his bag for something. “I need a map of the territory here.” He asked of the twins. Terrance zoomed out of the room and was back within a few minutes with a map in hand. He laid it out on the table and Zezar came over with a crystal pendent in his hand. “Ok I need a drop of b***d from both of you.” He said looking between the twins. Ethan and Terrance both bit their fingers and held them out to Zezar. Zezar let a drop of each fall onto the crystal. Then he swung the pendent over the map while chatting a spell.

After he said the final words, the pendent pointed to a spot on the map. “She is there.” He said. “What the hell is she doing in St. Petersburg already?” Ethan roared. “Doesn’t matter, we need to get to her now.” We head outside and strip, stuffing our clothes into a backpack, and shifted into our wolves. Zezar put the backpack on and climbed up on Terrance’s back. We booked it. Running as fast as our wolves could go.

We got to the area where the spell said Melody was and started looking around. Then a man came outside, with about 20 to 30 men following behind him. He looked us up and down and I saw his fangs elongate and his eyes turned a bloody red. ‘A leech.’ I snarled in my mind. Remus, Thor, and Apollo all sniffed the air. Remus and I were seeing red. Our mate’s scent was all over this leech and his black shirt was soaked in b***d. ‘HER B***D!’ Remus snarled as he hunched down getting ready to attack. I will kill anyone that harms my mate.

Melody’s POV

I kept going from in and out after that bastard stabbed me with silver. He was willing to go through an innocent little girl to get to me. The next thing I know I am on some kind of bed with three women around me. My arm hurts like a son of a b***h. Artemis whimpered. ‘Artemis?’ I reached out to her, even though my head felt like it was splitting in two. ‘Our mates…’ She replied back weakly. What? I wondered and worried what was happening with our mates.

I pushed through my pain to reach out to her again. ‘What is wrong with our mates?’ I could feel my breathing quicken and my heart rate speed up. ‘They are… fighting each other. They are… gonna kill each other.’ She spoke. I didn’t need to hear anything else. I need to stop them. I need to get up. I tried to push myself off the bed. One of the nurses was speaking to me and trying to push me back onto the bed, but I was so focused on what I was doing that I couldn’t hear her.

I took deep breaths and pushed myself off the bed and ran out the room before someone could grab me. I didn’t know where I was going. My shoulder was killing me. I looked at it and it was half stitched up and was still bleeding heavy. I shook my head. ‘Mind over matter, Melody.’ I repeated to myself over and over as I ran around. Then I caught the scent of both of my mates. I stopped and looked out the window and saw Luca’s wolf, Remus, fighting with my vampire mate. Artemis whimpered and I felt my heart and soul were tearing apart seeing them fight.

“STOP!” I heard a voice come from down the hall. I saw the woman that was treating me on one side and Robert on the other side. “You need to be treated, you are losing too much b***d.” She said as she slowly made her way to me. I saw Robert doing the same from my other side. “No, I need to save my mates.” I said and I did something that only my mother would do. I jumped out the window, crashing through the glass. I landed on a nearby roof and kept jumping from roof to roof. It seems EJ and Apollo heard the sound of the window, because they snapped their large wolf head in my direction and I could see the shock and anger in their eyes.

He sprinted quickly over to the bottom of the last building I was on and I jumped onto his back. “I don’t have time to explain, but take me to my mates.” I said and pointed over to where my mates were fighting. ‘ARE YOU f*****g CRAZY?! You look half dead and you wanna go over there and get in the middle of two pissed off alpha males?!’ He snapped through the link. I started to feel dizzy, but shook my head and pushed through the blurry vision. “If you don’t want to help me, then I will do it myself.” I snapped and slid off his back.

I fell to my knees and felt like my body was on fire. I felt like s**t, but I knew that if I didn’t stop my mates now. They would kill each other and I would lose a part of me forever. I felt Apollo’s soft fur underneath me again. He had scooped my back up onto his back. ‘Fine we will take you, but stay close until they calm down.’ EJ’s voice said in my head. I leaned into him. “Ok big brother.” I held on as Apollo ran towards my mates.
