Episode 34

Jayde’s POV

I had to follow that b***h all the way here. I am even more pissed that she is not only Luca’s mate, but mated to the sexy vampire king. Now they were in the territory of the werebear king. For her to have so many powerful mates is a crime. That should have been me, not some little runt. I mean, I am the daughter of the royal packs gamma… She is just the runt of a regular werewolf pack. The only thing special about her is she has three dads. I bet she is only strong because she had to keep up with her sexy brothers.

I am pulled from my ranting thoughts by a strange smell in the air. I sniff and it is getting stronger. The smell of oranges. I felt Roxie stir a bit, but not wake up. I knew what this was, my true mate was near. That would be the only thing strong enough to stir my wolf after the serum that the master injected me with. It seals my wolf down, but it is so painful. I would prefer wolfsbane or silver over the master’s own concoction. Though anyone’s pain brings the master joy. I heard a rustling coming from a nearby bush and jumped back and got into a defensive position.

Then I was met with a tall muscular man. He wasn’t big and bulky like the werebears I poisoned to get through the patrols, so he must be a werewolf from that b***h’s group. ‘Oh the irony that my true mate would be someone from her pack.’ I thought to myself as I internally rolled my eyes. I looked him up and down. He wasn’t bad looking, but he wasn’t as hot as Luca. He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He had a nice six pack on him and he was at least 6’4.

He smiled at me as he said “Mate.” in a deep voice. I felt Roxie stir again at the sound of his voice. I smiled at him. ‘Maybe I can use him to lure that little b***h out here. I am his mate and he should do whatever I want so that I am happy. All males want their mates to be happy. “Hello.” I said in a sweet voice. He smiled. “Hi, my name is Tucker. Tucker Delgado. I am the future beta of the Raven Moon pack. What is your name?” I smirked. ‘This might be easier than I thought.’ “My name is Jayde. I am just a rogue.” I told him.

His smile did not move an inch. “Let me introduce you to my future alphas. I am sure they would allow you to return to the pack with us.” He said practically shining in happiness. I had to think of a way to avoid that. Her brothers were there at the banquet, they would remember me. I started to shake and hide myself behind a tree. “NO! Alphas kill rogues, and males are ruthless.” I screamed out. My mate seemed concerned and thought for a moment. “Well if alphas and males scare you so much, I can introduce you to Melody. She is a female alpha. She can give you some encouragement and strength to meet her brothers.” He spoke fast. “Bring her here. I wanna meet her first before I meet your alphas or any other males.” I said, while trying to sound like I was on the brink of tears. I peeked out from behind the tree to see my mate nodding. “Ok, I will go get her now. Just wait here and don’t move.” He said as he ran fast back to where he came from. I smirked. ‘Males are so easy to use.’

Tucker’s POV

I am walking around the grounds of the werebear king’s reservation. It is so beautiful here. I feel a light breeze coming from the east. Then smelled something nice in the air. It smelled like roses. My wolf, Cerberus, started pacing in my mind. ‘Dude is that what I think it is?’ I ask him, as I take a deep breath smelling it more and more. ‘Yes. Mate is near. Find her.’ he yelps. I start walking towards it. It was leading me into the woods. I pushed through some thick bushes and saw a pretty girl. She was small, around 5’10, had nice blonde hair that had some dry dirt mixed in, and beautiful hazel eyes.

They looked like mine, but a bit lighter. “Hello.” She said in a sweet voice. Cerberus yipped at the sound of her voice and I smiled. “Hi, my name is Tucker. Tucker Delgado. I am the future beta of the Raven Moon pack. What is your name?” I asked her. She returned my smile “My name is Jayde. I am just a rogue.” She said. Her voice was sweet. ‘Tucker, she must be weakened or hurt. I can’t contact her wolf.’ Cerberus said to me. ‘Ok, let’s get her back to the house and after we introduce her to Ethan and Terrance, we can ask King Drake to use his medical center.’

I looked her in the eyes. “Let me introduce you to my future alphas. I am sure they would allow you to return to the pack with us.” I told her. Her eyes immediately filled with fear and she ducked behind a nearby tree. “NO! Alphas kill rogues, and males are ruthless.” She screamed out. Cerberus and I grew worried about our mate. She must have had a bad experience with alphas and makes in general. Maybe she was only speaking to me because of the mate bond. I had to think of something quick. ‘Get Melody. A strong female may help our mate relax.’ Cerberus suggested. ‘Great idea.’

“Well if alphas and males scare you so much, I can introduce you to Melody. She is a female alpha. She can give you some encouragement and strength to meet her brothers.” I spoke a bit fast. I wanted her to hear me before she lost her nerve and ran away from me. “Bring her here. I wanna meet her first before I meet your alphas or any other males.” Jayde said, slightly poking her head out from behind the tree. She seemed really frightened about something. “Ok, I will go get her now. Just wait here and don’t move.” I told her. I made sure she nodded before I turned back and ran as fast as I could back to the house. The sooner I got her back the sooner I got her checked out.

Third Person POV

As Tucker was running back to the house, two figures were watching Jayde with scorful eyes. They were high in the trees, but decided to communicate telepathically so Jayde would not hear them talking. ‘Brother, should we intervene now? You can tell she means to use her poor mate.’ The girl says, while gripping her kunai tightly in her hand. ‘No, not yet sister. I want to see what this beta will do. Where do his true loyalties lie?’ The girl snapped her head to her brother in shock and disbelief. ‘That is a hard and cruel decision to force upon someone, brother! His and his wolf would be shattered without their mate.’

The brother looked at his sister with a sad glint in his eyes. ‘I know. We saw it happen to our mother when that man came into our lives. I believe this beta will make the right choice, but the choice has to be his to make. We can not interfere with fate’s challenges and tests.’ His sister looked down at Jayde. She clenched her jaw tight enough to crack a tooth as she saw Jayde wearing a sly smirk on her face. ‘Alright brother. We will wait and see the outcome of this test.’
