Legend Of The Moon Princess -
Episode 45
After Lunch we were getting ready to go to the mall and shop for the twins, when Kai came inside. He looked normal, but his eyes looked drained, like he was half alive. “Hey Kai. Ready to go into town with us?” I asked him. Kai looked at me and nodded. He stretched and cracked his shoulders and neck. “Sounds interesting.” He said. I was about to ask where he was after training, but the sound of people coming down the stairs interrupted me. I don’t want to talk about it in front of everyone, because it may be a personal reason.
Riley is coming down with mama, and it looks like mama found some of my old clothes for her. Cause Riley was wearing some light blue skinny jeans with a red flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. She kept wiggling her shoulders around. “This thing is a bit weird.” She said to mama. “Oh it will be something you get use to, sweetie. Trust me we will see if we can find some more comfortable ones at the mall.” Mama said to her, Riley nodded. “What’s wrong?” Kai asked Riley. “Oh it is something called a ‘bra’ it just feels weird wearing it.” Riley told her brother while wiggling her shoulders some more. “Then why wear it?” He asked. I found it so funny when we taught these two about normal everyday stuff in this world.
“Because Lady Jess won’t let me leave the house without it.” She said, looking like she was about to cry. Mama then popped her in the back of the head. “I told you to stop calling me lady. It is either Aunt Jess or just Jess. Especially in the human public. They don’t know we exist so you can’t talk about us to random people.” Mama lectured Riley as she held her head in her hands. “Yes ma’am.” Was all Riley said. “Well before we go, Riley could I have help with a little headache.” Kai asked. Riley smiled and nodded. She came over and stood right in front of Kai. He then bent forward and placed his forehead on hers.
Riley cupped his face in her hands, and they both closed their eyes. “Desmós aímatos, moirásou ti dýnamí mou.” (Bond of b***d, share my strength.) She said. The same pale green light came from her palms and a small whirlwind circled the twins. When it died down and the twins separated, I looked at Kai’s eyes. They went from looking drained and lifeless back to full of energy. “Better?” She asked. “Much.” He replied with a smile of his own. Kai only ever seems to smile at Riley. The twins never really seem to talk much, even to each other. The most they talk about is when we ask them questions about their world or how they did stuff. EJ, TJ, Drake, Jeremiah, Luca and Star came in and we loaded up into a few cars, so everyone had room because dad wanted us to take along a few pack warriors for protection, and headed to the mall.
Riley looked at the mall in wonder. “Wow this place is so big. Are you sure we can go in? Usually buildings this big are only for important leaders.” Riley asked. “Yup this is the mall. It is where everyone comes to do some shopping.” Star told her. “Oh, speaking of shopping, here you two go. These are your wallets with your bank cards. Leo, Zero, and Hero said to get whatever you wanted or needed.” Mama said as she handed a black wallet to Kai and a navy blue wallet to Riley. “We will show you how to use them.” She added. Riley and Kai nodded and slipped their new wallets into their pockets.
After hours of shopping, we found out that Riley and Kai like the similar style of clothes. They both like the stereotypical casual type of clothes. They mostly got jeans most with a ripped style, t-shirts of all kinds, sneakers and boots, some hoodies and a few jean jackets. Riley hated it when Star dragged her into a dress shop, and Ethan had to drag Kai into a shop to get him some formal wear too. “Come on Ri-Ri, you need something nice to wear at the party when you go to Royal Moon.” Star said as she just grabbed some samples and pushed Riley into the changing room. “I think Riley is more like us than we think, mama. She hates formal wear just as much as we do.” I said with a laugh. Mama just smiles and nods.
After getting a few formal outfits each for Riley and Kai, we had the pack warriors take them to the cars. Riley still wanted to look around so we window shopped. We passed by an arcade and Kai seemed to be interested in one of the games. “What is that?” Kai asked while pointing at a Dance Revolution game. “Oh that is called Dance Revolution. It is a game where you dance on the same arrows the little icon is dancing on.” TJ answered. “Dance? Can we play?” Riley asked, jumping up and down. “Sure.” EJ said with a big smile. My brothers enjoyed seeing the twins smile and excited about something.
We walked up to the game and waited for some other kids playing to finish their turn. “Is it our turn now?” Riley asked as the kids were getting off. Luca smiled and nodded. Riley smiled and started to head to the dance platform, but she was suddenly pushed back by a boy that came out of nowhere. Kai moved and caught her before she fell to the ground. “Hey!” Kai called out to him. The boy turned around and glared at Kai. The boy smelled human. “What?” He snapped back. “You cut in front of my sister and pushed her. Don’t you think that is a bit rude?” Kai asked, through gritted teeth. Riley was quiet as she stood in front of Kai, her eyes down casted on the floor.
“I wanted to play and not have to waste time waiting for some baby to take their time.” The boy answered. Riley then walked over to the bigger boy and looked up at him with a smirk on her face. “Alright then how about we play together. One on one, unless a big bad boy like you is scared of getting beaten by a baby like me.” She said with a smile, but the aura I was feeling off from her… she was anything but happy. “Ha deal. Just down cry to you mommy and daddy when you lose, little girl.” He snarked. Luca put in the money for Riley to play.
The boy selected the dance off mode, which would show which player scored the highest. The song that they would dance to was a kpop song called “Crazzee Boi” By Sara Choi. Riley took her shoes off and rolled her shoulders. Kai stood back with a smirk on his face. “You seem ok with all this.” I said to him. He looked at me and his smile grew. “Because you have not seen Riley dance before, I have.” He said in a cocky voice. As soon as the music starts, Riley is nailing every single move, you would not believe that just a few minutes ago she had never seen this game before. She was practically break dancing and not missing a single move. The boy, on the other hand, seemed to have been cut off guard because he wasn’t doing even half as good as Riley.
By the time the song ended, the boy was panting for air and Riley was jumping up and down at her perfect score. Instead of rubbing it in the boy’s face that she beat him, Riley turned to him and offered him her hand. “So, how about next time you try and make friends first before you act like a jerk.” She said with a smile. The boy looked at her wide eyed and then took her hand. He held her hand until Kai, who seemed irritated, came over and pulled Riley back while glaring at the boy. That was when I noticed that the boy was blushing while looking at Riley. It was just a little harder to see, even for us with night vision, because of all the different colored lights flashing everywhere in the dark room. The boy took that moment to just run off.
“Wow Riley, you were so good.” I told her. “Yeah, I thought you never played before?” Jeremiah asked. “Are you a hustler?” Drake joked. Riley looked at him confused. “Um no, and it is true I never played this game before, but I never said it was my first time dancing.” Riley said honestly. “Mother taught us both how to dance, and when we learned it honestly wasn’t different to our battle training.” Kai said. “Okay, then let’s play some more games before we leave.” Mama said with a big smile. We spent a few hours playing different games with the twins. Luca beat everyone at air hockey, and Kai beat everyone at a basketball game. He was able to swissh the ball through the net every time. Even started showing off by throwing the ball off the wall and making it in the basket. It was nightfall by the time we got back home, mama had gotten us dinner at the food court. I discovered that Riley loves sweet treats, but Kai doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth.
Mama told me on the way home that she would teach Riley how to use the tub and shower in the bathroom. She knew I still had to go meditate to talk to one of my dad’s wolves to find out about this ‘Alpha bond’ Riley told us about. So I went and showered and got ready for bed, myself. Then I sat with my legs crossed in the middle of my bed to meditate and talk to the wolf I thought would know the most, Dad’s wolf, Fang.
