Melody’s POV

It was the night of the full moon. After dinner I showered and stretched. As I was getting dressed in a loose dress, someone knocked on my door. “Who is it?” I called out. “It’s Riley. May I come in?” the voice on the other side answered. “Sure thing. The door is unlocked.”

Riley quickly came inside and closed the door again. “Are you excited?” she asked as she walked to me. “I guess we are both nervous and excited. I am not sure how this is supposed to work.” I answer. Riley giggled. “Once you are in the moonlight, instinct should take it from there. Just let Artemis, Logan, Lance, and Remus have complete control.” She said confidently. Their world sounded more and more brutal everytime we asked about it.

“Though I came here to give you this.” She changed the subject and handed me a pretty necklace with a pale baby blue stone in it. “This is a blue moonstone. It is a rarity in our world. Even the regular white moonstones are hard to come across. It will protect you from magical creatures that may lurk in the shadows. Since Kai and I are not gonna come along.” She explained. I laughed a bit. “Yeah it would be weird even for s****l beings like wolves and vampires for two little pups to be on guard for something like tonight.” Riley smiled and grabbed the necklace and walked behind me. “This chain is special. It will expand when you shift into wolf form, and shrink when you shift back.” She explained while clasping the necklace together.

“It is beautiful.” I smiled and hugged Riley close. Even only knowing Riley and Kai for such a short time, I couldn’t imagine them not being here. Artemis’s POV

I felt a bit of pressure from Riley when she told us that the blue moonstone was to protect us from things that ‘lurked in the shadows’. I think that she and Kai sense something that we don’t and are not saying anything.
