I was getting nervous because Natalia was still so quiet. She has not said anything yet. “Um, what is a date?” Her cute voice asked in confusion. ‘What? She doesn’t know what a date is?’ I thought. “Oh, Aunt Natalia. A date here is the same as males courting the female they like.” Riley said with a big smile. “Though most of the males here take the females without chaperones.” Kai added. “Oh.” Natalia said as she turned her head slightly away from me. I could see a blush creeping up one her neck. “If it would make you feel more comfortable, we can bring someone to be a chaperone.” I said. Though in all honesty I would hate not having alone time with Kayla and Natalia.

Natalia’s POV

My mind was racing. Tucker wanted to start courting us? Normally he would have to ask either our alpha or living male relative for permission. ‘Kayla, I need you to come back to the dining room please.’ I linked my sister. ‘Why?’ She snipped back. She was still in a foul mood… great. ‘Tucker wants to start courting us. Without Jasmine or Parker here to ask permission, I don’t know what to say to him.’ Then there was a gust of wind and Kayla was beside me in the dining room again. I glared at her. “You better not have put any holes in the walls.” I said while raising an eyebrow. “I do know how to use the doors, sister dear.” She said with a teasing smirk.

“So our mate wants to court us?” She asked me. I nodded. “Yes but without Jasmine or Parker here I am not sure it would be alright.” I told her. “Why not just ask Kai? As of right now he is our only male family here with us, plus he is the son of our alpha.” Kayla said while crossing her arms. “Why would you need your alpha?” Princess Melody asked. “Well, princess. When females don’t have fathers or brothers for the mate to ask permission, then our mate would start the courting process by asking our alpha.” I explained. “Is that really how things are done here?” Kayla asked, looking at Tucker. “Well back in the old days yes, but nowadays when a guy asks a girl out it is usually just between them.” He said.

“That sounds a little more fun than our way. Why not just go for it sis?” Kayla asked me. “You know perfectly well. I wanted to follow our traditions when we found our mate, not like you.” I snapped at her. While I was waiting and saving my first time for our mate, my sister has been with her fair share of men. Either in the red light district or on a mission. Kayla rolled her eyes. “Fine, how about we meet halfway. If Kai is ok with us being courted by our mate, then we go with just our mate. NO chaperone… Deal?” She asked. Using her magic energy to float in the air while she crossed her legs and folded her arms behind her head. I thought for a moment. It would look a bit odd doing things too traditional if that is not how things work in this world. “Alright I can agree to that.” I told her and then turned my head to Kai. “Kai, do you give your permission for Tucker to court us?” I asked him.

Kai set his silverware down and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He looked between Kayla, Tucker, and me. Kai usually keeps his face void of emotions, just like Jasmine, but he gave the three of us a small smile. “If there is one thing I learned about mates here… Is that they honestly love and care for them and would do anything for their mates. I know Tucker would never hurt either of you, so I say that he has my permission.” I turned to look at Tucker and he had a huge smile on his face. Kayla was grinning. “And if mother says anything about it when she gets here, then I will cover for you.” Kai added. “Yeah, especially if you come back marked and mated. The mate process seems to happen quite fast around here.” Riley added.

Kayla’s grin grew as she looked over at me. I felt my face heat up even more. “So if we are lucky… Tucker will pop-” I stood up and covered her mouth with both of my hands. “You said one more word and I will kill you.” I growled at her. Kayla started to laugh. ‘Your face is so red dear sister, it is too much fun teasing you.’ She said through our link. “Well ok now that you guys are going on a date… Kayla and Natalia can come to my room and we will get you something to wear.” Star said, getting up from the table. I bowed my head to Princess Melody and her family before leaving the room to follow Star. Dragging a still giggling Kayla behind me.

Tucker’s POV

After my mates left with Star I turned to Kai. “Thank you for that, Kai.” I said with a smile. Kai nodded. “Though some advice. Please tell them about your first mate. I would hate for Aunt Natalia to feel even a bit betrayed that you used to belong to another first.” He said, looking me in the eyes. “Yes. Aunt Natalia has always wanted a mate that would love both her and Aunt Kayla. Even though only one of them is pure.” Riley added. I tilted my head in confusion. “Only one is pure?” I asked. Kai nodded and went back to his food. I wonder what he meant by that.

After breakfast, I went to my room to change into some nice clothes. Not over the top fancy, but a little better than sweats and socks. I settled on a short sleeve dark blue flannel shirt with some gray jeans. “I wonder what Kai meant by only one of them being pure.” I wondered aloud to myself. “Because I have been to the red light district many times.” I snapped my head to the door. Kayla was there leaning against the wall. “Huh?” I asked. Kayla just looked at me with hopeful eyes.

“I wanted to apologize for making you assume that I thought you would tame us. Being part of an identical set of female multiples usually ends up either being ‘tamed’ or rejected. Male twins or triplets have an easier time.” She said with a small bow. “That is ok.” I said. “But I also want you to be aware of something that is no secret back home. I was not one of those females that waited for their mate. I have been to the red light district a lot, and I am sure you don’t need to hear what happens there.” She said and Cerberus growled. “Natalia on the other hand had faith in whoever our mate was supposed to be. She had more faith than I did.” She said looking down with a sad smile.

I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her. Kayla stiffened a bit, but then relaxed and laid her head on my shoulder. “I am not going to hold it against you, Kayla. The past is in the past. Now that I have both you and Natalia, I will be the one to love and cherish both of you.” I told her. She pulled back and smirked at me. “I am not the kind of girl that would be unfaithful, sweetheart. I just wanted you to know about my past before you marked me.” I smiled. “Then I should tell you about something from my past too.” I said, letting her go and sitting down on the edge of my bed. She raised an eyebrow in confusion, but then she nodded and sat next to me.

“I had a mate before you and Natalia. Her name was Jayde.” Kayla was not saying anything. She just stood there listening to what I had to say. “But it turned out that she wanted to harm Melody. Melody is like family, so I rejected her. Even though she didn’t accept the rejection. Then Artemis connected Cerberus to her wolf, Roxie. Roxie and Cerberus rejected each other and broke our bond. After the bond was broken, I killed her.” I said, fiddling with my hands. Kayla placed her hands over mine and when I turned to look at her, she had a gentle smile on her face.

“I understand and I am proud you stayed loyal to Melody. Honestly, it is no different than how I would have been. All of us back home were very protective over the twins, so anyone that threatened them ended up dead too. Thank you for telling me and I know Natalia would understand too.” I smiled while I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her cheek. “Thank you. For understanding and for giving me a chance with you and Natalia.” Kayla let out a sweet giggle. “Well, then how about we get this date thing going?” She asked and I nodded and followed her out of my room to go get Natalia from Star. Hopefully, by the end of tonight, I can mark both of them and once their alpha got here we could have that mating ceremony.
