*Shelby*

We both lie panting, sweat forming a salty film on our skin. My fingers traced lazy circles across Michael’s chest before slowly working their way down. His breathing became shallow as my soft fingertips brushed against his hardening e******n.

“Ready for round two?” I whispered huskily in his ear.

He nodded, and I moved closer and straddled him. He grabbed my face and pressed his lips to mine with fierce desperation. Carefully, I lowered herself onto him and g*****d as I felt him fill me up. Every inch of him sent waves of pleasure through me as I rocked against him, every movement a tantalizing tease that he couldn’t resist. My head spun with pleasure as my grip tightened around his c**k until neither one of us could deny the intensity of the moment.

We moved together in synchrony, our bodies pressing against each other as we arched our backs and closed our eyes, feeling the climax of pleasure wash over us. I m****d softly into Michael’s mouth, my hands grasping at his shoulders with an intensity that made me quiver. Our tongues intertwined in a passionate dance, and I could feel the tension between us rising ever higher as the wave of euphoria intensified.

I gasped, and my body shuddered with pleasure as he moved rhythmically up to meet me, his h**s undulating in perfect harmony with my thrusts. My hands clawed at the sheets beneath us, pulling him deeper into me. I could feel every inch of him as I clung to him, wave after wave of bliss crashing over us until he finally exploded in a shuddering climax.

We both gasped for breath as we fell onto the bed in a tangled mass of arms and legs. My slickness coated my inner thighs, and I felt his member slowly soften inside me. With trembling limbs, I rolled to the side and nestled close to him. We clung to each other, our skin cool and damp with sweat, drinking in the aftermath of our lovemaking. The air was heavy with the sweet scent of desire.

Then I finally broke the silence. “I’m scared,” I said, my voice quivering slightly. “The turn this case took has me questioning my future, and I’m not sure if I should look into practicing a different type of law.”

Michael reached out and stroked my hair gently, comforting me in his embrace. “You know I support you in whatever you want to do.”

I nodded and snuggled closer into him. “I just wish I could find a way to live a normal life without constantly being on guard. Is that too much to ask for?”

He kissed the top of my head and whispered back, “No, it’s not. You deserve so much more than what you’re getting right now. Just remember, we have a place in France. You can look into working remotely while we travel. You don’t even need to make a decision right now, either. You can take time off and find out what you’re passionate about. You have all the time in the world to figure it out.”

I smiled and looked up at him, staring into his beautiful eyes. “You’re right. Once I hand in the hard drives, we can take a step back and go to France. We both need a damn break,” I said.

He nodded in agreement, knowing that it was long overdue for us to get away from all the stress of our lives. We had no idea what kind of adventures were waiting for us on the other side of the world, but I knew one thing for certain–with Michael by my side, I was ready for anything.

“Our lives have been hectic since we met,” he said.

I sighed and nodded, “Yeah, but it hasn’t been all bad. We’ve grown so much together and become such a strong team. Despite the chaos and stress, our love for each other has kept us going.” I leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips.

He smiled at me, and I felt my heart swell with love for this amazing man by my side. No matter how tough things got or how many obstacles were thrown our way, I knew we’d make it through because of our undying connection with each other.

“We’ll make it,” Michael said with conviction as his arms tightened around my waist protectively.

I nuzzled my face into my chest and said, “I just don’t think I’m willing to give up my career forever, okay? I’m not ready for that. I have so much to give the world, and I know that eventually, I’ll find something I’m passionate about that lets me give back without endangering the lives of the people I love.”

Michael rubbed my shoulders and whispered, “I know. I just want you to be happy. If you find your passion, I’ll be there for you, no matter what. I want you to know that I’m in this with you, whatever happens.”

I nodded, and then grinned up at him, giving him a quick k**s on the lips.

“Thanks, babe. You’re the best.” I grinned and kissed him again.

He smiled at me and said, “Damn right. Just wait until round three when I show you how good I am. You’re in for a world of pleasure.”

I giggled. “Hmm … I can’t wait to find out. I love it when you’re bad.” This man of mine was truly amazing–and incredibly sexy.

“Oh, you have no idea,” he said as he gave my a*s a quick smack. I squealed in delight and kissed him again, our soft lips colliding together.

He tilted my chin up to face him as he said, “Seriously if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing about our lives. I know we’ve had some rough spots, but we’ve overcome them together, and now we’re stronger than ever.”

I nodded.

“That’s right. We’ve survived a lot of ups and downs, and we’ve never lost our way. We’re here, and we’re in love, and that’s all that matters.” I scooted up the bed and planted another k**s on his lips.

“I love you so much,” Michael whispered as he gently ran his fingers through my hair.

“I love you too, babe,” I said.

“I’m so glad Bruce volunteered to watch the kids,” Michael said. “We needed a night like this.”

“I know. I’m obsessed with them, and I wouldn’t change a thing about being a mother, but it’s been a long time since we had a night to ourselves.”

I thought back over the time we had had alone since the twins were born and realized it was far and few between. Parenthood came in like a wrecking ball, and the first few months we were trying to desperately adjust just to stay afloat.

“We need to make a conscious effort to do this at least once a month. Especially once we get back into the swing of having a nanny,” he pondered aloud. “Our marriage is the foundation of the kids’ lives, and to stay united and happy, we have to put it first occasionally.”

“That’s so true. I never want to feel too busy to love you properly, you know what I mean? I think it’s easy as a parent to feel like you have to give the best parts of yourself to your kids, but I want to make sure you’re getting all the best parts of me, too,” I played with Michael’s hair as I talked.

The moment was so relaxing and comfortable, exactly what we needed. I knew Michael hated seeing me afraid and stressed. I knew if he could, he would hunt down every person that had been involved with Henderson Chemicals’ wrongdoings and strangle the life from them for ever making me feel the way I had recently. The way we both had.

“How much longer do you think the legal stuff with Henderson Chemical will take?” Michael asked, bringing reality crashing back down on top of us.

“It’s so hard to tell. Once they’ve located Belfort, the FBI is sure to get him to flip. That alone will be enough for criminal charges to be brought up on Lane and everyone else involved,” I sighed. “The problem is, they could find Belfort tomorrow or six months from now. Lane Henderson has the money and power to hide people if he doesn’t want them to be found.”

Michael g*****d, “Jesus, I hope it’s tomorrow. I am so sick of this bullshit. I just want you and the kids to feel safe without looking over your shoulder. The world is too crazy for me.”

“I know, babe. I don’t like thinking about this s**t either, but we can’t hide from it. It’s our new reality, and so long as we’re together, we’ll find a way to get through it.” Michael kissed me gently then.

I clenched my jaw, and a fire of determination surged through my veins. Marked by a fierce resolve to protect my family at all costs, I was ready to take on any threat that dared stand in our way.

Michael’s eyes grazed over my body illuminated by the muted glow of the moonlight.

“You’re too perfect to deal with the world. I swear, once this is all over, I’m going to make sure you never have to worry about the actions of other people again. I don’t care if I have to lock you away in a tower like Rapunzel.” Michael smiled at me then.

I punched him in the arm and rolled my eyes, “Please, don’t go all caveman on me, okay?”

“Caveman? Do you think that’s how a caveman acts? I’ll show you what a caveman looks like,” he growled.

His hands playfully darted across my body, searching for the sweet spots that would lead to fits of unrestrained laughter. I squirmed and giggled, writhing in his grasp as he continued with the relentless onslaught of tickles. Our laughter filled the room, a sound that was both joyous and contagious.

Finally, I managed to buck away from him, our laughter filling the air like a thick blanket. Panting, we collapsed back onto the bed, and I pressed my soft curves against his hard body and wiggled my a*s against his groin which sent sparks of pleasure radiating through his eyes.

“You’re insatiable,” he told me with a grin. “Are you ready for round three already?”

I laughed and replied, “We don’t have to stop at round three, do we? Professional boxers go at least twelve.”

Smirking mischievously at him, I turned around in his arms to press my lips against his. He tasted of honey and desire as he kissed me gently but passionately. The warmth from his body easily melted the remainder of my stress away. Our tongues intertwined in perfect harmony as both of us lost ourselves within each other’s embrace.
