Love at the Door
Chapter 47

Chapter 47

Linda had always kept her cool these few years because there was no other woman around Andrew at all.

However, Melina had appeared out of nowhere.

Linda was provoked by how harmonious they looked eating breakfast together and had lost her mind. She was bawling and shrieking out her complaints. Her tone of voice was shrill and painful.

Melina stopped eating. She lifted her head to look at Andrew.

She didn’t say a word. Her clear, bright eyes were fixed upon Andrew.

Was someone that he had known for barely a month comparable to someone he had a relationship with for a decade and more?

Melina didn’t think so.

“Look at all these people calling me a maid. Andrew didn’t even say anything,” Melina thought.

They were both waiting for Andrew’s reply.

They wanted to know who was more important.

Toby looked left and right and felt like his head was pounding. What was this?

“You two aren’t the same,” Andrew finally responded.

Linda was very unhappy with this answer. Her tears were still pouring non–stop. “I won’t stay overnight at Oakread, Andrew, but you gotta chase this maid out too! Can you chase her out, please?”

Toby’s heart dropped after he eard what Linda had to say. Andrew had done so much so Melina would stay. Chasing her out would be the last thing he would do.

No one, especially not Linda, should make the rookie mistake of ordering Andrew around like this.

Andrew’s gaze grew cold. He glared icily at Linda and snapped, “Thi is none of your business. You know I don’t have much patience.”

Andrew was getting impatient.

When Andrew got impatient, he didn’t care about anyone.

Linda saw Andrew’s steely gaze and realized what she was doing.

The color drained out of her face as she swayed. She looked like sh was going to collapse.

Linda suddenly went into a coughing fit. “I’m sorry, Andrew, I’m so sorry. I–I’m just too worried about you, that’s why I wanted to stay.

Linda was coughing so badly it felt like she was going to stop breathing.

The steeliness in Andrew’s gaze halted. He frowned and said, “I heard Louis say that you’re sick. Have you gone to the hospital yet?

“Why are you coughing like this?”

Linda replied weakly, “I haven’t. I didn’t want to go to the hospital alone.”

Andrew got up immediately. “Let’s go. Come with me to the hospital.”

Linda reached out her hand without prior warning and held onto Andrew’s sleeve.

She stole a glance at Melinda, almost like she was marking her territory.

When she looked back at Andrew, her gaze was careful yet gentle.

The both of them were about to leave when Melina finally said, “Eat some breakfast before y leave, Andrew?”

It was food that she had spent a long time preparing even before the sun was up. Andrew had only taken a few mouthfuls.

He was already injured. If he didn’t eat, how would he recover?

Linda heard what Melina said and tugned tightly onto Andrew’s

sleeves. “Andrew, I’ll get someone to order breakfast. We can eat it in the hospital.”

Andrew left with Linda. He didn’t even look back.

Only Melina was left in her silence, along with Toby and his awkwardness.

Melina looked at the spread before her and was in a little daze.

Toby was speechless. “What’s with Andrew?” he thought. “Once the little lady had fallen for his schemes, he’s just going to blow his disguise?

“Even if he was worried about Linda’s health, he shouldn’t be so obvious about it. Shouldn’t he leave some dignity for the little lady?”

“Erm… Mrs. Wentworth, Andrew has been friends with Linda for many years. Linda’s health isn’t the greatest. Please don’t mind her.”

“Are you still eating?”

“Erm… No thanks.”

“I’ll clean up then.”

Melina started gathering the dishes quietly.

“It’s only normal for Andrew to pick Linda, right?” she thought.
