Love at the Door -
Chapter 55
Chapter 55
Melina thought for a while before a bright idea struck her. She quickly dialed Toby’s number.
“Dr. Ludwig, are you busy right now?”
Toby almost didn’t recognize the number. It took him a moment to realize who it was.
“Mrs. Wentworth, is everything okay? What can I help you with?”
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Melina replied, “I’m at Wentworth Corporation to bring Andrew dinner, but I can’t go inside. Could you let him know and ask him to send someone to pick it up from the entrance?”
Toby immediately understood and didn’t ask any further questions. “Got it. No problem at all.”
“Thank you, Dr. Ludwig, I really appreciate it.”
After hanging up, Toby clicked his tongue a couple of times, seemingly lost in thought.
Someone outside his office was calling him to prepare for surgery. He was actually very busy, but remembering those incredibly pure eyes of Melina, he decided to send the message to Andrew anyway.
Toby quickly called Andrew. “Hey, Andrew, someone brought you dinner. Head down to the entrance and pick it up. Alright, I’ve passed the message. I gotta go prepare for surgery now.”
After delivering the message, Toby rushed off to handle an emergency operation.
Andrew, on the other hand, didn’t pay much attention to the call and quickly returned to his work.
Meanwhile, Melina continued waiting downstairs.
The sky grew darker, and still, no one came to collect the food.
She began to wonder if Toby had forgotten to pass on the message. She considered calling him again but hesitated, not wanting to bother him any further.
Maybe Andrew was simply too busy. Or perhaps he had already eaten. Or maybe he wasn’t even at the
office.
She thought of countless reasons for Andrew’s absence and sighed, thinking it was probably time to g
- go.
She turned to leave, feeling awkward about waiting so long outside. The security guard had glanced at her several times already, and if she didn’t leave soon, he might ask her to go.
Just as she was about to walk away, she instinctively looked back–and froze.
A figure emerged from Wentworth Corporation.
Melina’s steps halted as she recognized Linda carrying a food container, walking out of the building.
At that moment, Melina’s thoughts were crystal clear. Linda could only be here because of Andrew.
So, Andrew wasn’t absent from the office. He just didn’t need the food she brought.
Linda could walk right up to Andrew openly, without having to hide, unlike Melina, who couldn’t even step Inside
Melina felt a wave of dejection wash over her. She didn’t understand–if Andrew truly liked Linda, why had he said those things to her?
What did Andrew’s heart really want?
Melina didn’t leave. She sat with the lunchbox in hand, hidden in the shadows of a streetlamp, watching

the crowd come and go from the towering building.
She sat there for a long, long time, until finally, Andrew appeared. From a distance, Melina watched him, and suddenly, a deep sadness overwhelmed her.
Andrew seemed to sense someone watching him and looked around, b
the night had already fallen.
Melina was sitting in the dark, out of sight unless someone approached her closely.
She didn’t move even after Andrew’s car drove away,
Something inside her told her that things weren’t supposed to be this way.
On the other side, Toby finished his surgery and, not caring about the time, immediately called Andrew again.
“So, Andrew, did you get Mrs. Wentworth’s lovely homemade dinner?”
“Hm?”
“You didn’t forget to pick it up, did you?”
“No, I didn’t pick it up.”
“Uh… Andrew, even if you weren’t planning to eat it, you could’ve at least taken it upstairs. Now she might think I didn’t deliver her message properly.”
