Love beyond the mask ( Whitney ) -
Chapter 715
"I'm Tiana, and you're Parker."
"You've got the wrong guy. I'm not Parker. Get lost."
The man flicked off his wire-rimmed glasses, his long eyelashes tensing in pain.
Tiana paused, letting out a slow sigh, "You are Parker. You've got amnesia, that's why you've forgotten your own name. I've heard your uncle call you Parkie. Maybe that's your nickname." "Get away from me. Don't try anything funny."
His gaze was icy, freezing Tiana in her tracks, as she realized that even peachy eyes could look so cold.
He's supposed to have amnesia, so why does it seem like his whole personality has changed?
Parker wasn't the icy type.
"Parker, I seriously think you might have developed a different persona. Do you know who you remind me of right now?"
His eyes narrowed, tinged with a dangerous crimson.
Tiana pouted, "You're acting just like that jerk, Ludwik. No wonder, hanging out with him all the time, you must've picked up his bad vibes."
"Ludwik? Who's that?" His tone was as cold as ever.
"..." Tiana waved her hand in front of his face, "So, you really don't remember anyone, huh?"
Seeing his cold, untrusting demeanor, Tiana's hope shattered.
Parker used to be familiar with her, and the disparity made her feel strange.
There was no time to explain too much, her heart racing to get him up, "Now that everyone's asleep, Parker, you need to come with me!
We have to get out of this hellhole. You can't stay here.
You're from Emperor City. Staying here won't help you recover your memories.
Once we're back in Emperor City, you'll remember everything.
Your best friend is waiting to uncover the truth with you, to expose that creep, Jarvis!
Everyone's worried about you.
And about your uncle's doctors, they can't cure you.
For poisoning, I think Whitney could help. She's an excellent herbalist.
You go back, and she'll treat..."
"Bang-" Parker didn't listen and threw her to the ground.
"Presumptuous. Do I know you?" The man stood up, his tall frame casting a shadow over her like a towering mountain, "Don't touch me. Don't push your luck."
His coldness suddenly made Tiana realize how strong he was - his skills had always been exceptional.
Most importantly, he might really be a stranger now.
She landed on her butt, feeling both aggrieved and angry, "Parker, what the hell? I'm trying to get you out of here, and you can't even recognize a good person when you see one, and then you push me? Damn it, I already fell once climbing out of that cell, my back is killing me, and who am I doing this for?" Ignoring her, he took a couple of steps away, his back tensed as if he was trying to suppress something, his voice a hoarse threat, "Want me to have someone throw you out?"
He walked towards the door, this damn guy was really going to call someone!
Tiana's eyes widened, too shocked to cry, and she scrambled up to rush at him, "Shut up."
She covered his mouth with her small hand, clinging onto him like an octopus, "Don't you dare call anyone to catch me."
"Let go!"
"I won't!"
"Damn woman, I don't want to repeat myself!"
"Do I look like a bad person to you? Look at me, really look!"
Frustrated, Tiana pressed her face against his, their struggle causing her lips to brush against his mouth and neck repeatedly.
The veins in his neck, already strained, seemed to pulse even more violently.
"Get off me..."
"And what if I don't, huh? I might even twist around a bit..." She was livid, her body grinding against his in anger.
Suddenly, he gripped her waist.
A mouthful of blood sprayed next to her ear.
They tumbled over each other.
Tiana was stunned by the blood, taking a moment to find her voice, her hands reaching out to him in confusion, "Parker, what's wrong with you?"
"Cough. Cough..." His breathing was harsh and irritated as he pushed her away.
He got up, pacing the room before rushing to the desk to gulp down water, his hands trembling, breath hot, making Tiana feel as if the room's temperature was rising.
"Hey, don't scare me. You're not having a reaction to the poison, are you?"
Panicked, Tiana ran to him.
After finishing the water and smashing the bottle, he stumbled and knocked over the desk.
"Parker?!" Tiana was shell-shocked, her eyes turning red as she reached out to support him, astonished to find his body temperature alarmingly high, not just like a furnace, but as if touching him could cook her skin.
"Oh my God, why are you so hot... What kind of poison is this, so powerful that you're almost on fire? What do we do, what do we do... the bathroom! Right, there's cold water in the bathroom."
Tiana, both heartbroken and clueless, dragged him towards the bathroom, then tried to strip off his shirt, "Take off your shirt first, and your pants too. You'll fry your brain if this keeps up, we need to cool you down fast." "Don't touch me." His voice was hoarse, restrained.
Then, Tiana hadn't realized the extent of his restraint.
She didn't understand what was happening, pushing him into the bathroom, struggling to reach up to help him undress, her mind in chaos, "Should I call a doctor for you?
But if I do, I'll get caught, and your uncle might kill me.
No... but I don't know how to treat you.
Damn it, I should've learned some acupuncture from Whitney. Now I don't even know how to bleed you... and why are these pants so hard to take off?"
Tears fell as she fumbled with his zipper and belt... Suddenly, the man before her tensed, a floodgate of terrifying destructive power and strength bursting forth.
When Tiana sensed the shift in the air, she looked up, bewildered, only for her chin to be caught in a strong grip.
Parker had calluses from training, rough and gritty against her soft skin, shocking Tiana into speechlessness, her tears flowing in panic and confusion, "What are you doing?"
He didn't answer, his fierce gaze seemingly void of light.
"Parker," Tiana's voice was laced with despair as she called out to him, repeatedly uttering his name, "Parker, don't be like this, come on, what's wrong with you? Why are your eyes not moving..."
"Are you feeling awful? Then you should probably take a dip in the water, cool off a bit."
"Stop pinching me, my jaw's about to break!" She felt herself being lifted off the ground by his bare hands, nearly scared out of her wits, her fists pounding against his chest continuously.
