Carmen gasped and stumbled back a few steps, caught just in time by her maid. Staring into her son's resolute eyes, she was taken aback, her lips trembling slightly with anger. Pointing at the woman Parker was holding tightly, she exclaimed, "You... Are you planning to elope? Foolish! You might escape now but not forever. If you dare to do this, the Doonan family will truly face a scandal because of you this time!"

Parker had his doubts, but at this moment, he couldn't care less.

Wasn't this supposed to be a joint rant about Parker? Why drag Ludwik into it?

If it weren't for Whitney's recent good deed, Ashton would've been tempted to argue back.

Swallowing his irritation, Ashton took the crying Cherry from Whitney, softening his tone for once, "Hey, little one, don't cry. Your mommy and Parker eloping is a good thing!

If you want them to truly be married and give you a family, give them some time."

Whitney nodded, reassuring Cherry with a sly smile, "Don't worry, sweetie. Seeing how Parker acted, he's ready to face the consequences for your mommy. She'll be fine. And if anything happens, I'll make sure your family is reunited."

Ashton squinted, whispering, "When's the paternity test result coming?"

"It should be soon, just about an hour and a half from the airport here."

Ashton glanced at Cherry, then said, "You follow them, I'll meet the courier."

Whitney shook her head, her eyes sharp as she surveyed the chaotic wedding scene. Carmen stood aside, supported by a maid, her face a mask of frustration and silence.

Beside Carmen, Doonan family relatives were pointing and gossiping.

Whitney sighed softly, "Things are calm now because Winston isn't here; he's at the police station. Look at those Doonan elders, definitely blaming Parker. Carmen looks so upset because Parker left. We need to stay, ready for any trouble, to protect them for now." Ashton, not as quick to catch on, thought it over and agreed.

The best man bolted at his own wedding, leaving a mess for someone else to clean up.

He touched his straight nose, raising an eyebrow, "I bet when Winston finds out what Parker pulled off, there'll be hell to pay!"

"So, we've got to sniff around for info here." Whitney, hand in hand with Cherry, had a touch of blissful tenderness in their gaze, "Hopefully, they don't turn on each other. If there are any issues, they should just face them head-on and deal with them." "That all depends on whether Tiana's willing to open up," Ashton snorted.

Whitney snorted back at him, "Don't just blame the ladies. First off, Parker needs to shed his prickles. Which woman can stand a man who's all over the place, moody and quick to anger?"

"He's only like that because Tiana's pushing him to it," Ashton stubbornly believed Tiana was hiding something.

Whitney was too frustrated to engage with such a typical insensitive guy.

She covered her pale lips, sneaking peeks at the man next to her, who sat unmoved by the chaos.
