Love beyond the mask ( Whitney ) -
Chapter 976
Parker was drowning in a sea of shame, his handsome features shadowed by regret and frustration.
"I completely lost it this afternoon, thinking she was just being selfish, deciding everything about our child without even telling me. I felt so betrayed, and I lashed out at her without thinking."
Whitney squinted her eyes and snorted coldly, "Now you realize your son is still here, and suddenly you're playing the repentant card? If you truly feel sorry, what are you still doing here moping around? Go make it up to her!"
She crossed her arms, hardly able to contain her anger. "Tiana's at the hospital crying over a jerk like you. Go tell her yourself about the baby, and while you're at it, get down on your knees and apologize." "...Really?" He was exasperated.
But Parker couldn't shake the image of Tiana, tear-streaked and vulnerable, especially knowing there was still a warm little life inside her, which made him treasure her even more. Nodding solemnly, he admitted his fault, "I've been a jerk. I'm going back to her." "That's more like it." Whitney kicked aside a beer can and strutted out with her head held high.
Turning around, a smirk played on her lips.
You think you're too tough to handle? Think again!

Parker was speeding down the road, his heart as restless as a wildfire, desperate to see Tiana and embrace the woman who had suffered so much because of him...
As Whitney followed in her car, watching Parker push his Lamborghini to the limit, she couldn't help but draw parallels between them and herself with Ludwik three years ago.
Without personally ensuring they cleared up their misunderstandings, Whitney couldn't rest easy.
She remembered something and made a call to Ashton, hoping to ask him to pick up Cherry from the Doonan Mansion and bring her to Skyfaith Hospital. Whitney had some important questions for Cherry, and she wanted Ashton to hear them too. But before she could speak, Ashton's brisk voice came through, "Whitney, I can't talk right now."
Then Whitney heard the faint sounds of a woman in pain and the chaos of a medical team in the background. Clearly, it was Elaine.
Ashton, ever the responsible jerk, had actually taken Elaine to the hospital.
Frowning, Whitney hung up the phone, her mind whirling with thoughts.
When she arrived at Skyfaith Hospital, she saw Parker jump out of his car and rush toward the admission building. The setting sun cast a fiery glow on his lean, determined figure.
His shirt stuck to his back with sweat as he ran towards his beloved, a sight that made Whitney smile slightly.
Taking a deep breath, she followed in her heels, determined to catch up.

The ICU's visiting hours were at 4 PM, and Tiana had just walked out of her father's room with her mother, removing her mask and protective gear. Tiana's face, once round and full, was now drawn and pale, prompting her mother's concern. "Are you feeling alright, Tiana?" Celine asked, noticing her daughter's discomfort.
"Just a bit of back pain," Tiana replied, though it was more her abdomen that ached, but she dared not say.
Celine, however, saw through her, guiding Tiana to a nearby chair. "You've been running around non-stop since the procedure. You haven't properly rested at all. How could your body handle it?"
The mention of the procedure pulled Tiana back to reality, and she checked her phone for messages from Whitney, hoping for some explanation or reassurance.
But instead of waiting any longer, Tiana decided to call Whitney herself.
As soon as the call connected, however, she was met with a man's voice, "... Tiana, it's me."
It was Parker. His voice was deep and breathy, as if he was walking quickly. "Our child is still in your belly. I was wrong. Please, forgive me."
Tiana's world stopped. Her heart exploded with a mix of shock and joy, her fingers instinctively moving to her belly. Despite her doubts, Parker's words confirmed her deepest hopes.
"Parker... are you serious?" Tears filled her eyes as the realization set in. The baby was still there, alive and growing inside her.
"It's true. Whitney told me. She did something wonderful. Tiana, I was wrong to take out my anger on you. I was just so scared of losing our child, and I took it all out on you. I'm so sorry..." Tiana could hardly breathe through her tears, overwhelmed by the rush of emotions.
Then, suddenly, Parker's voice wasn't just coming from the phone anymore. She turned around to find him standing right behind her, his phone still in hand.
Parker looked weary but determined, his eyes filled with a raw intensity that Tiana had never seen before. In that moment, all the pain and misunderstandings seemed to melt away, leaving just the two of them and their unborn child.
Tiana felt as if she was being scorched by his intense gaze, a tumult of emotions swirling within: pain, regret, and a tender guilt that spoke of his care for her. His eyes, a piercing crimson, reflected her image in every aspect.
Parker put away his smartphone, and from a distance of a few feet, he cast a tender look down at the petite woman before him, his love for her spilling over. "I'm the one at fault here. During this past month, while you were carrying our child, I've been nothing but a complete mess.
In life, they say there are three great joys, and one of them is finding what was once lost.
Tiana, give me another chance to make things right.
You can hit me, yell at me, but you can't leave me!
Because I'm a father now, to not just one, but soon to be two! Our second miracle is on its way, and it hasn't slipped away. I'm over the moon. You feel the same, don't you?"
With those words, he approached her, a commanding presence, and gently took her cold hands into his.
Pulling her into his embrace with a delicate tenderness.
Soon after, Whitney arrived, catching the tail end of his confession and observing the scene before her. A sigh of relief escaped her, bringing with it a faint smile of liberation.
