Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1201: Just want to see Miss Eloise
Brimlad sighed heavily, "If your cousin had made sense, I wouldn't have gone to Edwina."
She knew her son best and was a very persistent person, it was hard to change what she had decided.
"That's true." Eloise nodded approvingly, "But it's never true that relationships can be swayed by others, so you'd better be prepared for that, Auntie."
"I know that. I'm going to throw a party, get Elva to come to the house, and then try to set her up with Edgar."
Eloise frowned at Brimlad's ready look, "Auntie, you can't set them up, or you'll make your cousin resist Elva even more."
"Don't worry, it won't."
Despite Brimlad's words, Eloise was still a little worried.
Who knew if she would do something shocking to set up her cousin and Elva.
Maybe she should warn her cousin.
...
Edgar had deliberately left work early for the evening's party.
"Eloise, are you ready?" He came to the door of Eloise's room and lifted his hand to knock on the door.
After a moment, the door to the room opened.
Eloise had changed into the dress Bergerian had given her.
She was unadorned, even her hair was just worn casually, but her whole air had become very different.
"It's beautiful." Edgar looked at her with a gentle, light smile.
"Is it?" Eloise looked down at the gown on her body with a vague hint of disgust in her expression.
If Bergerian hadn't specifically said she had to wear the gown he had given her, she really wouldn't want to touch it again.
"Do you want to get it styled?" Edgar asked.
"No, I can do it myself."
It wasn't an important party, she didn't need to go to all that trouble, she could just put on her own make-up.
"That's fine, I'll meet you downstairs."
Eloise nodded, "Hmm."
Edgar went downstairs.
Brimlad sees him coming down and asks suspiciously, "Isn't Eloise ready yet?"
She knew Edgar and Eloise were going to a party and didn't think much of it.
"Yeah." Edgar walked over and glanced at the fashion magazine she was holding and raised a sabre brow, "Mum, since when do you like reading magazines like this?" "It's not that I like to read it, it's that there's someone I know in it."
"Who?" "Elva."
At the name, the smile on Edgar's lips froze for an instant, and then he tugged at the corner of his lips, "So that's it."
His tone was a little cold.
Brimlad couldn't help but frown, "You don't want to see it?"
"Not interested."
The simple statement was enough to explain his attitude towards Elva.
But Brimlad was not happy, "Edgar, do you dislike Elva that much?"
"Mum, I've made it very clear that I don't like her."
"And what about Edwina?"
Edgar's eyes flashed slightly and he fell silent.
"Is this your acquiescence?" Brimlad asked tentatively.
"Mum, leave Edwina out of this in future, it has nothing to do with her."
He still hadn't answered his own question positively.
But knowing her son, the answer was eight. Nine.
Brimlad thought about it for a moment and decided to lay it out on the table.
"Edgar, I've told you before that Edwina isn't right for you, and I wouldn't approve of you being together."
At that, Edgar smiled, "Mum, I've also said that I don't want to talk about relationships for the time being."
"Is that what you say with your mouth and what you think in your heart?" Brimlad stared at him intently.
Edgar inexplicably felt a little weak, "I ... certainly feel the same way."
"Better be." Brimlad closed the magazine and placed it on the table, making his attitude clear once more, "I wouldn't approve of you and Edwina being together anyway, and if you have such thoughts, you'd better put them out today to save yourself a bunch of trouble later."
This was probably the first time he had heard such an authoritarian statement from his mother.
Edgar couldn't help but laugh, "Mum, I make my own decisions about my feelings."
"But it's not about you anymore, it's about the whole Khan family," Brimlad's expression turned serious.
"Since your grandfather has put the Khan Group in your hands, he wants you to run it well, even better and better, so you need a wife who can help you in your career."
"I don't want to rely on a woman." Edgar said.
"Is that relying on a woman? No, it's a very real thing."
Brimlad tried to break it down for him, but just as Eloise came downstairs.
Edgar took the opportunity to interrupt her, "Eloise is coming down." Brimlad had no choice but to give up.
As Brimlad looks on, Eloise and Edgar walk out, one after the other.
Once outside, Eloise looked up at the already darkening sky and took a deep breath, hoping that everything would go well tonight.
"Eloise, don't worry, I'm here."
Eloise turned her head and what fell into her eyes was Edgar's reassuring smile, she curled her lips in a smile, "Mmm."
...
The car pulled up in front of the hotel and Eloise, sitting in the car, caught a glimpse of Matthew standing in the hotel lobby. "Get out of the car."
Edgar shook her hand and whispered.
The door opened and Eloise bent down to get out of the car.
As soon as Matthew saw her, he immediately ran out.
"Miss Eloise."
The next second, he saw Edgar walking over and frowned, "You brought someone else?"
"I wasn't brought by her, I was invited." Edgar walked over to Eloise and stood on his feet.
Matthew ignored him and instead said, "Miss Eloise, Mr Bergerian is waiting for you upstairs."
Eloise turned her head to look at Edgar.
Edgar, Edwina smiled, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Eloise took a deep breath and lifted her steps into the hotel.
Edgar followed.
But before he could take a few steps, he was stopped by Matthew.
"Mr Farabee, I'm sorry, my husband only wants to see Miss Eloise alone."
At that, Eloise was shocked and turned around to run back to Edgar.
But then two tall men appeared from nowhere and grabbed her left and right, dragging her inside.
"Let go of me, let go of me."
She could not break the shackles of the men and women and could only turn to Edgar for help, "Cousin, cousin..."
But Edgar was controlled by Matthew and could only watch as she was taken away.
"What the hell do you want to do?" Edgar glared at Matthew with a stern gaze.
MatthewEdwina smiled, "Nothing, Mr Bergerian just wanted to catch up with Miss Eloise."
"Catch up?" Edgar snorted, "I don't remember Eloise and your husband having any old times to catch up on."
"Mr Farabee there's no need to rush, we won't hurt Miss Eloise, you'll see Miss Eloise later if you get to the party first."
Edgar clenched his fists, his eyes narrowed slightly as he gave a vicious warning, "If you dare to hurt her, I will never let you go." Matthew was still smiling, not taking his warning in the slightest.
