Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1219: Trees want skin and people want faces

Rupert learns that his big brother has returned to Kyoto and immediately pushes his trip back and heads to Kyoto on his own.

When he arrived at the Khan family, as soon as he saw Eloise, he couldn't wait to ask, "Sister-in-law, what is brother's current situation?" "He's at the Bartram family now."

Rupert frowned, "The other side won't release him?"

Eloise smiled bitterly, "No."

"That won't do, that's my brother, your husband, we must have the man back."

Seeing his agitated look, Eloise advised, "Rupert, take it easy, my brother-in-law and the others are working on something."

At her mention, Rupert remembered something.

'I seem to know what your brother-in-law and the others are up to.'

"What?"

"The Khan Group has suspended its partnership with the Bartram Group and it's hitting the Bartram Group a bit hard." Rupert told her exactly what he had seen on the news. Eloise wrinkled her brow, "But this suspension has had an impact on the Khan Group too, hasn't it?"

"That's for sure. It's the equivalent of ..." Rupert thought for a moment, "Killing a thousand enemies and losing eight hundred."

"That won't work." Eloise shook her head, "Can't have the Khan Group in crisis too because of what happened to me."

"In a crisis?" Rupert raised an eyebrow, "That won't happen, after all, Rogers Group and Khan Group also work together, so there won't be too much of a problem for a while." "That's good." Eloise breathed a sigh of relief.

Rupert pondered for a moment and said, "But we can't rely on the Khan Group alone to put pressure on Earlene, I still have to step in."

"I'll go with you."

Her brother-in-law and the others had told her to behave and wait at home, but she simply couldn't be bothered to wait.

Rather than rush around the house, she could just go to the Bartram family and maybe there was some hope.

Rupert nodded, "OK, we'll go together."

...

Back from the hospital, Hector was tired and went straight upstairs to rest.

Earlene walked into the room and went to the bed, bending over to tuck the covers in, her eyes falling on Hector's to face, a hint of concern surfacing in her eyes. Although the drugs could make him forget his past, they had also made him a lot worse and he tired easily.

She had to think of something to see if she could improve his health.

"Miss."

A small voice came.

Earlene turned around.

It was the butler.

He was standing in the doorway, looking a little anxious.

She walked out and closed the door behind her before asking, "What is it?"

"Miss Eloise is here."

Earlene blushed, having known Eloise wouldn't die, but not expecting it to come so soon.

"Tell her I don't want to see her."

The butler bowed her head respectfully, "Yes."

As she watched the butler descend the stairs, Earlene narrowed her eyes, a gloomy look in them.

No matter what, there was no way she was going to give Hector back to Eloise.

Hearing the housekeeper say that Earlene would not see them, Eloise's emotions flared up and she pushed the housekeeper straight away and ran towards the stairs. She was going upstairs to find Earlene and ask for clarification face to face.

"Sister-in-law!"

"Miss Eloise!"

With shouts of alarm, Rupert and the housekeeper hurried after her.

Eloise quickly ran upstairs, ready to search room by room, but to her surprise, as soon as she reached the upper floor, she saw Earlene.

The two men stared at each other.

Rupert and the butler came up behind Eloise, one after the other.

"Miss, it was she who ran up suddenly and I didn't stop her for a moment." Deeply afraid that he would be blamed, the butler hurried to explain. "You go down."

Upon hearing this, the butler immediately turned around and went downstairs.

"Where's Hector?" Eloise asked out loud.

"He's sleeping." Earlene walked slowly towards her, "Can't you die when he's forgotten about you?"

Eloise sneered, "He's my husband, why should I die?"

"But he forgot about you." Earlene stood in front of her and looked at her with a pitying look, "Eloise, even if he came back to you now, he wouldn't remember the past, you'd only be sad, so you might as well just let it go." "He hasn't forgotten!" Eloise's voice couldn't help but rise a few notches, "He's just forgetting for now, he'll remember!"

"Hahahaha..." Earlene suddenly laughed, her smile full of mockery, "You're simply naive!"

"Naive or not, I must take him back today." Eloise looked unusually determined.

"Take him back?" Earlene raised her eyebrows, "I'm afraid that's not possible!"

"Miss Earlene, you've got to have a face, don't you?" Rupert couldn't help but sneer.

Earlene looked up, her gaze falling on his face, which bore a slight resemblance to Hector's, and curled her lips into a smile, "For him, I would indeed lose my face!" Rupert froze.

He hadn't expected anyone to be shameless to this extent!

Eloise took a deep breath, "Earlene, for the sake of us having been friends, will you give Hector back to me, please?"

Her tone was not as forceful as it had been earlier, and there was more than a hint of begging.

"No more talk, you guys go back."

Whirling, Earlene raised her voice and shouted, "Butler, see the guest off!"

The butler ran up at the sound of his voice and politely said to Eloise and the others, "Please go back, both of you."

Eloise had come this time with the intention of definitely taking the man away, there was no way she was going back so easily.

"Earlene, he doesn't love you, are you going to spend the rest of your life with a man who doesn't love you?"

That poked Earlene in the gut and her face turned a little ugly, but her mouth was still particularly sure, "He loves me, it's me he loves now!"

Eloise laughed softly, "Aren't you afraid that one day he'll suddenly remember what happened before and how dirty you used to force him to stay with you, and how much he'll have to hate you by then!" "No way, no way!"

Earlene panicked and she shouted, "Butler, get them out, get them out!"

"Yes, Miss!"

The housekeeper went straight up to pull Eloise, but was dodged.

Eloise looked behind Earlene at the several rooms with closed doors and a quick glint crossed her eyes.

"Hector!"

She suddenly shouted.

Earlene was startled and hurried back.

That was the moment!

Eloise pushed her to the ground and ran to open the door to the room.

Seeing this, Earlene, who was sitting on the floor, shouted shrilly, "Butler, stop her!"

Rupert straddled his long legs and stopped the housekeeper, smirking, "Don't you dare go through."

Earlene scrambled to her feet and snapped, "Do you know what you are doing? You are trespassing and I can call the police and have you arrested."

"Yeah?" Rupert looked calm and collected, "Then you report it, and when you do, I'll say you're illegally imprisoning my brother."

"You!" Earlene was instantly too angry to speak.

"Miss Earlene, if you have any conscience left, return my brother to my sister-in-law."

"No way!"

Earlene slammed him hard and rushed up to stop Eloise.

Eloise opened the doors to two rooms in a row, but there was no Hector in sight.

There was just one last room left.

She looked at the closed door of the room and her heart, uncontrollably, beat fast.
