Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1406: Nothing but multiple opponents.

Edwina saw the manager leave and got up in a hurry.

As soon as the latter saw that it was her, his face instantly filled with surprise as he quickly approached her, "Edwina, what brings you here?"

"Manager, how are you?" asked Edwina with concern.

"I'm fine, how are you?"

"I'm quite well."

"I saw the news of your engagement, congratulations."

The director was surprised to see the news, but at the same time genuinely happy for her.

All these years she had had an extraordinarily hard time with the baby on her own, and it was really nice to finally have someone willing to take care of them, mother and child. "Thank you, director."

After the two took their seats, Edwina looked around, "Looks like there are a few more new faces."

"Well, a few new people have been recruited since you left." The director sighed, "None of the hires are as smart or as savvy as you."

At that, Edwina smiled, "Manager, I always made mistakes at first too, but you taught me little by little and I got things right."

"That's because you're smart and you learn fast."

In the manager's eyes, there was no one who could compare with her.

Nor was it possible for her to work at the restaurant again.

Thinking about it, the manager couldn't help but sigh again.

"What are you doing here today?" it was then that the manager remembered to ask.

"I came to take a look around."

The manager nodded, "So that's it."

Suddenly, something occurred to him, "By the way, this restaurant has been sold by the owner."

"I know." Said Edwina, "And I know who the owner is."

The manager frowned, "How do you know?".

Edwina curved her lips into a smile, "Because the new owner is me."

"Huh?" The manager froze.

"Manager, I'm here today mainly to see how everyone is doing and to tell you the news in the meantime."

The manager replied that he wasn't kidding and smiled with relief, "So the new boss is you, then I'm relieved."

Edwina lost her smile, "Why are you relieved that the new boss is me?".

"I was worried that the new boss was one of those rude and unreasonable people." The director shrugged his shoulders in embarrassment. "If that's the case, then yes you can rest easy."

The manager stood up, "Edwina, welcome to the restaurant in your new position."

Edwina stood up as well and looked at him with a Dulce smile, "Thank you, we'll be able to work together again."

Edwina was looking forward to the next few days.

...

A few days after the party, Paulina realized that Chris had not contacted the Leoz Group and there was no movement.

It was as if the conversation about cooperation the night of the reception was actually a polite comment.

"Alfredo, what exactly does the other party mean?" Paulina's fine eyebrows furrowed slightly as she remembered Chris and Rawlins' familiarity.

"Paulina, are you trying to work with Chris?" asked Alfredo.

"Working together or not is another thing, the main thing is that he doesn't work with the Bartram Group, otherwise he's a big threat to us at the Leoz Group." That was what really worried Paulina. Alfredo also frowned, "Why don't I try to contact the other side and we'll see."

Paulina thought about it for a moment and nodded, "Sure, sound him out in the meantime."

"I'm on my way."

Alfredo hurried out.

Paulina turns to Marcos, who has been silent, and asks, "Marcos, aren't you worried?"

The Bartram Group was attacking the Leoz Group all the time, doing everything from stealing projects to stealing clients.

If we could get the Bartram Group to work with Chris, it would really be like a tiger with wings, and a major threat to the Leoz Group.

"Don't worry." Marcos' tone was subdued.

You could tell it really wasn't a worry.

Paulina stood up and walked over, blinked and asked curiously, "Do you already have a way to deal with the Bartram Group?"

"You guess."

As soon as she heard that, Paulina deflated, "With your personality you must be waiting to see what happens again and not taking the initiative." After all, she wasn't going to take on the Bartram Group over Earlene saving her life in the first place.

"Or do you have an idea?" Mark looked at her with derision.

Paulina shrugged, "I did before, I don't now."

"You want to work with Chris that badly?" asked Marcos.

He remembered that she had warned him to be careful with Chris, so how could she want to work with someone else now?

"The enemy's friends can be our enemies, so we might as well make them our friends." said Paulina.

At that, Mark laughed, "If it were that easy to turn enemies into friends, there would be no enemies."

He thought for a moment and continued, "Chris didn't want to work with the Leoz Group on the day of the reception, so don't get too genuine."

Paulina sighed, "I know."

Alfredo contacted someone from Chris' company and they told him that they had plans to work with Grupo Leoz, but they really didn't have time to meet and talk about it, and they needed Grupo Leoz to wait a little longer and that Chris would contact them when he was free.

When Alfredo told Paulina, she laughed coldly, "No time to meet? It seems disingenuous to me."

If she had known this was going to be the case, she would not have let Alfredo contact the other party, it was simply too demeaning, as if the Leoz Group was begging them to work together. "What now?" asked Alfredo.

"The Leoz Group never wanted to work with Chris in the first place." said Marcos.

"My brother was right." Alvaro broke in, "That Chris long ago made a pact with the Rawlins to work together and they are both conspiring on what to do with the Leoz Group."

"So it's true." Paulina's mouth curved into a grimace, "Do they really think the Leoz Group is easy to deal with?"

Alvaro frowned, "Clearly Chris was up to no good to begin with, just... have we offended him in any way?"

Alfredo thought hard, "No. The Leoz Group rarely offends anyone in business, let alone a company far away in Europe."

"Then what's going on?" wondered Alvaro.

Since Chris wanted to enter the domestic market, he should have chosen a large company with strong assets, and the Leoz Group was certainly the best choice.

But Chris had chosen the Bartram Group. Was the Bartram Group offering better terms, or did it have some kind of hidden deal with Rawlins?

"No need to delve too deeply into it." Marcos spoke casually, "For the Leoz Group, it's just another rival."

Alvaro bristled, "I'd rather have more partners than one more rival."

Too many rivals, even if the Leoz Group was too powerful, it would still take a certain beating.

Marcos narrowed his eyes and his voice was extremely cold, "It doesn't matter, but anyone who goes against the Leoz Group will not end well."

If the Bartram Group didn't know how to stop, then the Leoz Group would take action.

Do you really think the Leoz Group is easy to intimidate if you don't teach them a lesson?
