Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1460: Yes, as ordered!

Arriving at the office, Paulina pushed open the door to the president's office, only to see Marcos sitting behind his desk, head bowed in serious paperwork. Because he was so serious, he didn't even notice she was there.

Paulina gently closes the door and approaches him with light steps.

Marcos feels someone looking at him and looks up, surprised, into a pair of sincere eyes.

He slowly lifts the corner of his lips, "What brings you here?".

"Alvaro said you hadn't eaten all day." Paulina put the lunch bag on the table and opened it as she crumpled angrily, "Do you really think your body is made of iron?"

It was nice to see her cheeks swell with rage.

Marcos couldn't help but laugh, "How am I going to go a day without eating, you didn't bring me food?"

He pointed with his eyes to the bento box she had just taken out.

Paulina

gave e him a nasty look, "If I hadn't come to bring you food, were you planning on not eating?"

"No, I'm going to ask Alfredo."

Despite what Marcos was saying, he had actually had a very busy day and wasn't hungry at all.

"Then why don't you come and eat?".

Paulina smiled helplessly and sat down on the couch with her lunch box, opening it one by one.

Mark walked over and sat down next to her.

"They're all your favorites." Paulina handed him the toothpicks.

Marcos looked at them and smiled, "Yes, they are all my favorites."

Seeing that he didn't move the chopsticks, Paulina became uneasy and urged him, "Eat, and by the way, drink your soup first. You haven't eaten all day, have some soup to nourish your stomach." With that, he handed him the soup.

Mark stood for a moment and then took it, "Okay, drink the soup first."

He took a sip of the soup and out of the corner of his eye he saw Paulina sigh in relief.

Suddenly, he had mixed feelings.

Guilt gripped his mind.

He had been so busy with the company lately, so busy that he hadn't had time to be with her and the kids, and it had made her worry about him. His heart felt like it was clogged with absorbent cotton, a little congested.

When he finished his soup, Paulina took the chopsticks and gave him a piece of beef tenderloin: "Eat more so you'll have energy to work."

At this, Marcos smiled and carefully ate the food she had brought.

Paulina stared at Marcos as she finished her meal, her heart pounding and settling back down.

"I'll make you a coffee with lemon to take the stress away."

Paulina picked up the bento boxes before getting up to leave.

When Paulina walked in with two cups of lemon coffee, she sighed quietly as she saw that he had gone back to work.

She couldn't bear the thought of him working so hard, but then she knew without a doubt the responsibility and burden he carried.

She reached over and put the coffee in his hand, her eyes fell on the computer, so dense with data that she felt a headache as she looked at it. But she asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Mark looked at her, his eyes full of tenderness, "Go home first, I'll do that."

"No, I want to stay with you." Paulina looked at the stack of papers in her hand, "I want to help you."

Marcos looked at her for a moment and nodded, "Okay, then you can help me with the paperwork." Paulina immediately smiled, "Yes."

Marcos asked Alfredo to bring a laptop and gave Paulina all the information she needed to sort through.

The office fell silent as Paulina sat across from him with the laptop in front of her and a stack of papers beside her.

She stared intently at the screen, her thin, white fingers tapping on the keyboard, compiling information about all the Leoz Group's projects for this year.

Paulina asked nonchalantly, "Are all the projects on hold?".

She had seen the news and some experts were saying that things were going badly for the Leoz Group this time and that many of their partners had chosen to suspend their cooperation with the Leoz Group. Marcos raised his eyes to look at her, "No."

Paulina stops moving her hands, looks up and speaks softly, "Marcos, you can tell me the truth, you don't need to hide it from me."

Even if she couldn't help much, she still wanted to help him bear some of the burden.

Marcos was silent for a few seconds before speaking slowly, "All the important projects are still on, the partnerships that were being negotiated have been withdrawn."

Paulina frowned, "By who, the Rawlins?".

Marcos scoffed, "How could they let such a great opportunity slip away?".

"I've had contact with Rawlins and I remember it wasn't like this before." Speaking of which, Paulina couldn't help but sigh a little.

Ever since Earlene had died, Rawlins had held a grudge against Marcos and had crossed everything with the Leoz Group.

"People change." Marcos narrowed his eyes, looking grim. "This time they've stolen a lot of clients from the Leoz Group."

"When something like this happens to Grupo Leoz this time, clients are more or less worried because if they don't work with Grupo Leoz, they will work with other companies. So there is no need to worry too much." In Paulina's opinion, it is understandable for a client to make that decision.

"It doesn't worry me." Marcos took a deep breath: "The clients we lose now, we can always get them back. I just don't like the way Rawlins and the others are falling into the trap."

"I understand. Sooner or later they'll pay for what they've done."

Paulina, seeing that he was still pouting, got up and walked behind him, squeezing his shoulders. "Don't think too much, I'm sure you'll be able to improve the Leoz Group."

Marcos took her hand between his and looked at her tenderly, "Thank you, Paulina."

"I'm your wife, so no thank you." Paulina gave his shoulders a light squeeze, then reached down and slipped her arm around his shoulders and said, "Marcos, I want to get back to work, okay?" Marcos had told her not to go back to work for a while when he found out that morning that the company had been compromised.

She knew that Marcos wanted her to stay home because he was worried that her tracking anxiety and anger would affect her health. After all, having the kids at home would distract her a bit.

She had only agreed to do it because she didn't want to distract Mark; things at the company were already enough of a headache for him, and she didn't want him to have to worry about himself. But now that she was watching him work so hard, Paulina didn't feel bad....

Seeing his hesitation, Paulina pouted like a little kid, "I promise you that everything will be done to your body first, okay?"

Mark couldn't help but smile and looked at her with an increasingly tender look, "Okay. But now you have to remember what you said."

"Yes, as instructed!" Paulina nodded curtly and then smiled in satisfaction.

Even if she couldn't help, it would be nice to keep her company.

Paulina cheerfully returned to her laptop and continued to sort through the information, while Mark concentrated on his work.

With her by his side, the mood that had been heavy gradually improved.

The night was getting late.

Paulina could no longer stay awake and when she was almost done with her work, she fell asleep on the couch.

Mark feared she might catch a cold, so he fetched a blanket and gently covered her with it.

Reaching up to push aside the hair that covered her cheeks, Mark's eyes rested on her peaceful sleeping face, and the corners of her mouth slowly curved up, her eyes almost dripping with tenderness. "Good night."

Marcos sat back down on the couch, one hand gripping hers, his nerves slowly relaxing after a long day.

He really was very tired these days.

If it weren't for his great willpower, he would have collapsed long ago.

Relaxing now, the tiredness overwhelmed him like a wave in an instant, and his aching eyelids slowly closed. Sleep.

But it was a little after four in the morning when Marcos woke up.

He looked at Paulina, who was still sleeping, put a hand to his sore neck and quietly got up to head to his desk. There was still too much work to do to allow him to sleep too long.
