Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1565: There better not be a next time!
"Well, is it worth getting so angry over a slut?" Lisa reached up and gently patted Blythe's back to reassure her. Blythe's face was still ugly.
At that moment, Winston approached from the foyer, his grim gaze swept over Lisa and finally settled on Blythe. "Mr. Winston, you're back." Lisa greeted him with a smile.
Blythe looked up and met his somber gaze, and an inexplicable shiver ran up from the soles of her feet. What was wrong with her ...?
"Lisa, please come back." Winston spoke, his voice cold.
"What's wrong?" Lisa also sensed something was wrong with Winston and smiled a little uncomfortably.
"Blythe and I have something to take care of."
Winston had spoken so bluntly that Lisa could only come away with good judgment.
Blythe was a smart man and he immediately suppressed his raw anger, sketched a smile and asked, "What brings you in so early today?"
Winston didn't answer, his eyes riveted on her face as he took a step closer to her.
Blythe's heart clenched at the strong, oppressive scent of him, and she unconsciously took a step back, but behind her was the couch, and she fell back on her buttocks.
Winston stood in front of her and stared at her with a deadly stare, "If I don't come back, how am I going to see you angry?"
He uttered each word with special clarity, as if he were holding back a great rage.
Blythe was confused, she was angry, but what was wrong with that?
Perhaps reading her thoughts, Winston leaned toward her, reached out and took her chin, lifting her face and forcing it to meet his.
"You're not still mad at Marcos, are you?"
Blythe had a fleeting moment of bewilderment, then asked in turn, "What nonsense are you talking?"
Winston's fingertips were so hard that Blythe wrinkled her forehead in pain.
"Earlene, don't forget that I'm helping you because I like you." Winston leaned into her ear, his tone a little grim, "If there are other men on your mind right now, what exactly do you take me for, a tool for revenge?" He would not allow his wife to be less than dedicated.
Once there was another man in her heart, she was betraying him!
Winston had an awful face and Blythe's heart was beating so fast she feared he would strangle her if he got angry.
He had always been kind and gentle with her, never like this.
Her mind churned and she shot him a look, "How could I have another man in my heart, my heart is with you right now."
Winston didn't flinch.
"Come on, don't be mad. I was just mad at Lisa for talking too much and being annoying to listen to all the time."
Blythe reached over and tugged on his sleeve, pouting, "I know I'm wrong, don't be mad. You've been so good to me and helped me with my revenge, you'll never find another man in the world who will treat me the way you do. Winston let go of his hand and growled coldly, "There had better not be a next time!"
"Of course not." Blythe reached up and rubbed her aching jaw, her eyes lowered to hide the resentment beneath them.
How could she trust a man who claimed he would be good to her and help her get even when he could turn so horrible over such a trivial matter?
She couldn't help but remember how good Mark had been to her during the time she lost her memory.
If it wasn't for Paulina, she would have married Marcos and lived a wonderful life as a couple, and she wouldn't have had to get involved with such a horrible man like Winston. This was all Paulina's fault!
...
From getting beaten up at the casino to being investigated for drugs, Bergerian has fallen several times in a row, and all to the same man.
Never had anyone frustrated him so much, Marcos was the first.
He was so angry that if he didn't fight back, he wouldn't be Bergerian!
"Carl, be careful in the meantime, no more stumbling." Bergerian stressed again and again.
Although he had been acquitted this time, the police did not necessarily believe he was innocent, and they would certainly be especially careful with him.
He had to be careful and cautious if he wanted to gain a foothold here, and he couldn't afford any trouble, or it would all be over.
"Don't worry, sir, the next drugs we get will be compliant ones." said Carl.
Bergerian narrowed his eyes, "Other than that, send someone to keep an eye on Marcos and report back to me if anything happens." Carl nodded, "Yes."
Paulina wasn't too surprised to learn that Bergerian had been arrested for drug non-compliance.
She knew Bergerian could not engage in normal business and, with his mentality, it was inevitable that he would strive to make a profit.
It was only natural that he would be arrested.
I just didn't expect to see him released within hours of being arrested.
Paulina just found it a bit ironic.
No one was innocent, not Bergerian!
Although he had been at home recuperating, he knew something of the match between Marcos and Bergerian.
Bergerian's arrest had something to do with Marcos.
And now that Bergerian had been acquitted, it would be a big deal if he did anything against Marcos or the Leoz Group.
Bergerian's personality would not let Marcos off the hook.
The more he thought about it, the more he worried, and when Marcos returned in the evening, he dragged him into the study and told him his worries.
Hearing this, Marcos couldn't help but smile and reached out to clasp her hand in his arms, whispering, "Don't worry. We were able to sweep away the Bergerian forces before, and we can still do it now." "But once a man is pushed, who knows what terrible things he will do."
If it had been anyone else, Paulina wouldn't have been so worried.
But Bergerian was different; she had been in contact with Bergerian and knew how devious and treacherous he was.
"Is this because you don't trust me?" asked Mark, looking at her and feigning disgust.
Paulina shook her head hastily, "How could I trust you? It's just that I fear your methods..."
"The water will return and the soldiers will return." Marcos hugged her tightly.
Paulina rested her head on his chest and listened to the steady beat of his heart, which gradually calmed down.
She sighed softly, "Marcos, I'm sure you're capable of fixing everything, but still be careful, I don't want anything to happen to you."
"Mmm." Marcos looked down and kissed her hair, "Don't worry too much, as long as you rest at home in peace and recover, I will protect you and your family."
