Chapter 166: I do like Eloise

As Catherine Greaves walked out of the office, a few small colleagues outside the door were whispering about the matter matter.

"Have you heard? Eloise has taken the project in the US."

"Really, it's amazing how easily Catherine Greaves took down a project that she hadn't taken down for a month!" "This Catherine Greaves is pretty bad too, and supposedly someone transferred from corporate HQ! Sheesh."

Catherine Greaves stood still, furious and blue in the face.

She and Linn Dail had almost everything they needed to buy and it was now time for dinner. Egbert Chumley said he was in the area and said he would bring the two of them over for dinner and after thinking about it Eloise Thompson didn't refuse.

A short while later, however, the trio arrived at a restaurant, and as they walked in Egbert Chumley spoke up and asked, "You've managed to take that project, haven't you?"

Before Eloise Thompson could say anything, Linn Dail spoke up with a haughty look on her face, "That's natural, Eloise went to the party sick and it would be a shame not to be able to take this after all that work."

At that, Egbert Chumley frowned slightly at Eloise Thompson.

"Are you sick? Is it serious?"

"Can it not be serious when you're all fainted?" The ever straightforward Linn Dail spoke directly.

At these words, Egbert Chumley's brow knitted even deeper.

Eloise Thompson rushed to say, "It's okay, Egbert, it's just a cold, it's almost gone now."

"Really?"

"Of course, look at me, I'm alive and kicking!"

Egbert Chumley pursed his lips, still a little uneasy at the thought that Eloise Thompson had actually fainted at the party.

The three found seats and Linn Dail took in Egbert Chumley's concerns, one was the gentle and handsome Egbert and the other was the high strung and equally handsome president, tee hee, what envy for Eloise! Linn Dail was thinking about it when two figures walked in at the door and she was startled.

"Eloise, isn't that Mr Hector?"

Eloise Thompson turned to look and her scalp tightened when she saw the familiar voice of Hector Rogers, who was with Reeva Lawson.

Eloise Thompson is bemused by the fact that New York is so big that you can't even have a meal.

Reeva Lawson and Hector Rogers also saw the Eloise Thompsons and for a moment Reeva Lawson's eyes flashed a little darker.

Reeva Lawson was gritting her teeth. They had just finished work and Hector Rogers had agreed to go out to dinner with them, but they had never expected to run into Eloise Thompson again, and Reeva Lawson was already mad at herself. As she thought about it, Hector Rogers had already walked past and she rushed to follow him.

Egbert Chumley, with the same slight start, smiled politely and opened his mouth to greet them, "Mr Hector, Miss Reeva, what a coincidence, are you here for dinner too? Would you like to join us?"

Reeva Lawson tried to refuse, after all she wanted to be alone with Hector Rogers, but the man on the side had sat down without ceremony.

The waiter came over to order, and Egbert Chumley pushed the menu over to Hector Rogers.

"Mr Hector come on?"

Hector Rogers didn't say much and ordered many of Eloise Thompson's favourites. Hearing the names of the dishes, Egbert Chumley was slightly taken aback as he also knew they were all Eloise Thompson's favourites.

For a moment, Egbert Chumley's expression became a little strange and, at the same time, a little uneasy.

After the waiter left, the atmosphere at the table became a little awkward.

Reeva Lawson had mentally given up on the idea of eating alone with Hector Rogers, so she looked for topics to talk about.

"Mr Egbert and Miss Eloise seem to be on very good terms! I've bumped into you together a few times, I heard you both went to the same school, did you two used to be like that at school?"

Egbert Chumley glanced at Eloise Thompson and smiled in agreement, "Yeah! Eloise used to be on the student council too, and we've been in contact with each other a lot, so naturally we've gotten to know each other quite well over time."

"Is that so?" Reeva Lawson smiled, seemingly remembering something, and intentionally spoke up to ask, "Last time I heard you speak at U of J, you said you had a girl you liked, Miss Eloise, I think?"

All three people at the table, except Linn Dail, were shocked that Reeva Lawson would bring this up.

Hector Rogers was already upset that Eloise Thompson and Egbert Chumley were eating together, and his face was even more upset at the moment.

Egbert Chumley did not speak.

Eloise Thompson just wanted to find a hole in the ground, especially when she saw Hector Rogers' unhappy face, and was inexplicably nervous and vain.

Linn Dail is on pins and needles, she's not stupid and obviously senses that Reeva Lawson likes Hector Rogers, Hector Rogers and Egbert Chumley both like them Eloise, and right now it's ... who does Eloise like? The atmosphere was quiet for a few seconds before Reeva Lawson spoke up somewhat innocently, "I'm sorry! Did I say something wrong."

Eloise Thompson was just about to laugh and say how it could be herself that Egbert liked when all she heard was Egbert Chumley speaking up in response to Reeva Lawson, "Nothing, and you're right, I do like Eloise." Egbert Chumley had a faint smile on his face and his voice was gentle, as if he were talking about a commonplace matter.

Eloise Thompson was so confused by the unexpected confession that she felt she was hallucinating, and although she had guessed that Egbert Chumley was probably in love with her, she was still a little stunned at the moment. The atmosphere at the table once again became strange. Even Reeva Lawson did not expect Egbert Chumley to make a public confession, and for a moment, the corners of her mouth ticked.

For a moment, Eloise Thompson really didn't know what to say and had to excuse herself to go to the bathroom.
