Chapter 177: The humiliation of Catherine Greaves

After the two men finished talking and hung up, Hector Rogers got up and washed up.

In the ground floor dining room, Rupert Rogers was eating his breakfast and as soon as he saw Hector Rogers walking down, he spoke with a gossipy face, "Brother, you're good, aren't you? You don't even know that you went out drinking with Egbert Chumley for your sister-in-law, I was shocked to see how drunk you both were when I went to pick you up yesterday."

Hector Rogers glanced faintly at Rupert Rogers and ate his breakfast without speaking.

Layla Davidson was naturally very grateful to have appreciated her and it was time for her to work hard and live up to the expectations she had of her. Sitting in her seat, Eloise Thompson also ignored Catherine Greaves.

The busy time passed quickly and at lunchtime Layla Davidson did approach Eloise Thompson with the intention of setting her up with a couple of new projects.

Everyone in the office was happy for Eloise Thompson, except for Catherine Greaves, who spent the whole day in a sulky mood.

All the way through the afternoon, Eloise Thompson went to the coffee water cooler to make a cup of coffee and the two ran straight into each other, with Catherine Greaves walking over and bumping into Eloise Thompson as if she was deliberately looking for a fight.

Eloise Thompson was unprepared and spilled the coffee in her hand directly onto her sleeve, soaking her white shirt, luckily the coffee wasn't too hot, but Eloise Thompson couldn't help but frown slightly at the sight of her sleeve. "Oops, I'm so sorry!" Catherine Greaves spoke falsely, apologising but with a smile on her face, posing as if I did it on purpose what can you do to me.

"Eloise Thompson, didn't you just pick up a few big projects? What are you so proud of? I'm telling you, the higher you climb the harder you'll fall, and I'm waiting to see how you fall." Regardless, Catherine Greaves always believed that Eloise Thompson could not have won the project on her own merits.

"Just mind your own business, you don't have to worry about what happens to me."

With that, Eloise Thompson once again intended to leave, but Catherine Greaves clutched her wrist, the words Eloise Thompson had just said making Catherine Greaves feel like she was defying her. Catherine Greaves had been upset for a long time and this was made worse by Eloise Thompson's attitude.

"Eloise Thompson, you're a recent college graduate, what can you do? I think you just sold your body to get this opportunity!"

As was the case that day, Catherine Greaves went further and further.

"You're just a good-looking girl, aren't you? Eloise Thompson, if your mother wakes up, she'll probably faint at the way you've been treating her!"

Eloise Thompson grimaced and slapped Catherine Greaves straight across the face.

A hot pain came from her face, the second time Eloise Thompson had struck herself, and Catherine Greaves, also angered, reached out and pushed Eloise Thompson in front of her.

Catherine Greaves was in a bit of a panic and her colleagues around her gasped when they saw it.

"Eloise, are you all right?" Linn Dail rushed forward to help Eloise Thompson to her feet, and colleagues around her spoke up in concern.

Layla Davidson was also alerted to the scene and her face sank as she saw it, first calling for Eloise Thompson to be taken to hospital and then looking at Catherine Greaves and reprimanding, "What the hell is going on?"

Eloise Thompson was taken to hospital by Linn Dail, and listening to Layla Davidson's sombre voice, Catherine Greaves rushed back to speak in her defence: "Manager Layla, it was Eloise Thompson who started the trouble, look She hit me in the face and I pushed her in a fit of anger, she didn't stand still before she hit the table."

Catherine Greaves actually started out with the intention of picking on Eloise Thompson and pissing her off, anticipating that Eloise Thompson's temper would not let her go and that she would then be able to tell Layla Davidson off. She wanted the crowd to know just how arrogant she, Eloise Thompson, was now.

But Eloise Thompson hit herself and when Catherine Greaves' temper got the better of her, she pushed Eloise Thompson and who would have thought things would end up like this.
