Chapter 244: Down on one knee

Curious, Eloise Thompson messaged back and asked where he was taking her.

Hector Rogers returned cryptically, "You'll see in time."

Eloise Thompson had no choice but to oblige.

Taking on the Exley project also kept her busy enough that the days flew by and it was the day after tomorrow.

Eloise Thompson has greeted Layla Davidson in advance and will be leaving work a little early.

She had only just come downstairs when she saw Hector Rogers' car already waiting in front of the office.

When he saw her coming, Hector Rogers got out of the car as a gentleman, pulled the door open for her and shielded her head again so she could get in. Eloise Thompson looked back and didn't think much of it when there was no Solomon in the back seat.

She thought they were planning to pick up Solomon.

However, when she looked back, she realised they were already on the highway.

Surprised, she hurriedly asked him, "Hector, where are you taking me?"

"You've been working for so many days, it's about time you got some rest." Hector Rogers smiled mysteriously, "I'll take you out on holiday."

Eloise Thompson thought to herself that it would be nice to go out for a rare moment of relaxation.

But, on reflection, she couldn't help asking, "Why didn't you bring Solomon with you?"

"Solomon had Rupert bring it over a long time ago." Hector Rogers made it up as he went along and concentrated on driving again.

Along the way, Eloise Thompson didn't talk to Hector Rogers again for safety reasons and just told him to drive in peace.

It took over two hours of driving before they arrived at the resort.

She went inside with Hector Rogers, who introduced her to the resort and led her towards the hotel.

The resort is in the mountains, with great air, pure natural hot springs, surrounded by villa areas and excellent security measures, and it is clear from a glance that it is a place for the powerful and wealthy to have fun. It took a long detour before they arrived at the hotel they had booked in advance.

Hector Rogers received his room card and he asked for two rooms instead.

When she reached her room, Eloise Thompson took a short break and went to his room to look for him, and to her surprise, she did not see Solomon.

A few moments of anticipation lurked within her.

Did he deliberately not bring Solomon with him? Wanted to have a romantic time with her as a couple?

But... is too much for them to come out and play without Solomon!

Solomon will be sorry and sad when he finds out.

Eloise Thompson couldn't help but chide him, "Where's Solomon? How could you leave Solomon behind?"

He saw how concerned she was about Solomon and asked after him several times and smiled, "Probably taken somewhere by Rupert to play."

He pulled her to sit down, "You rest for a while, I'll take you to the restaurant later for something to eat."

He had long since arranged that after dinner, they could still go straight to the spa.

Eloise Thompson was relieved to see him say that, but soon frowned, "But I don't have a swimming costume."

She did not know beforehand that she would be coming to the resort and had brought no luggage whatsoever.

"Don't worry, it's all set up for you." Hector Rogers showed her to her room.

At his gesture, she pulled open the wardrobe and saw that not only were there swimming costumes of all styles, but even replacement fashions were ready. Eloise Thompson blushed and asked, embarrassed, "How did you ..."

Such an awkward question, she couldn't ask in the end.

How on earth did he know her size?

Having just rested as well, the two did not linger much longer in the room, but went downstairs side by side.

Eloise Thompson heard about the hot springs here, which are infused with medicinal herbs and have beauty benefits.

They walked along the pathway and looked at the many beautiful seasonal cherry blossoms planted around the hotel, which soothed their mood.

The landscape, I must say, is so beautiful and scenic that Eloise Thompson couldn't help but exclaim, "The air is so fresh and refreshing."

Hector Rogers, however, had his heart warmed by the smile on her face.

They wandered around and soon it was time for dinner.

Hector Rogers took her and went to the restaurant.

No sooner had Eloise Thompson entered with him than a waiter came up to serve them.

As expected of a high-end restaurant, the elegant seats here are separated from each other.

The style is also somewhat different within each individual small space.

"This restaurant, the decor is chic." Eloise Thompson is never shy about praise when it comes to beautiful things.

She had expected that in such a high-end restaurant, the serving of food must be slow.

Surprisingly, as soon as they placed their order, small dishes were brought up.

Each of these small dishes is very refreshing, both in colour and taste.

The most important thing is that, together, these dishes taste great in the aftertaste.

"Hector, you really know how to order." Eloise Thompson chucked in another piece to try.

"Eat less, you won't be able to eat when the main course comes up later." Hector Rogers said with amusement when he saw how she couldn't stop eating.

It took Eloise Thompson a moment to respond, "Oops, Solomon and the others haven't even eaten yet."

She let out an "eek", why hadn't Solomon and the others come over yet?

Hector Rogers had to say, "Rupert took Solomon to eat elsewhere."

Eloise Thompson didn't ask any more questions, and by now the main courses were coming up in turn.

The first dish of roast duck that came up was not quite the same as the usual fare.

With curiosity, she chucked a piece and took it into her mouth.

"Well?" Hector Rogers eyed her intently.

Eloise Thompson nodded, clearly satisfied.

The restaurant is not only elegant, but the food is also delicious.

"Ready to eat?" Seeing her eating and rubbing her stomach in embarrassment, Hector Rogers got up with a smile and led the way towards the back garden.

"It's getting late too, why haven't Solomon and the others turned up yet?" Eloise Thompson hadn't gone far before she read Solomon again.

Only then did Hector Rogers say cryptically, "See you soon."

A little further on, there is the back garden in front of you.

Here the cherry trees are dangling with colourful coloured lights and pink ribbons that flutter gently in the breeze.

Eloise Thompson exclaimed in surprise: "They are so attentive, being so carefully decorated and natural and dreamy, so fitting ..."

Before she could finish her sentence, a lively music played and Solomon and Rupert Rogers actually walked towards her, step by step, in their white dresses. They were pushing a trolley in their hands and Eloise Thompson was surprised to see a large, novel-shaped cake on it and asked, "Is it someone's birthday?" Rupert Rogers shook his head, "No, it's to celebrate."

It doesn't seem like there's a holiday today either, does it?

Suddenly, Eloise Thompson noticed that Rupert Rogers was smiling meaningfully at Hector Rogers as he spoke.

She turned her head in confusion and Hector Rogers suddenly dropped to one knee in front of her.

Eloise Thompson had the illusion that her heart was beating so hard it was about to pop out.

Hector Rogers was seen slowly pulling a velvet box out of his pocket and opening it slowly with a solemn look...
