Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 304: Can't get locked in!
Eloise gave Rupert a call.
"My brother was indeed on a business trip. One of the companies we work with abroad suddenly went bankrupt and my brother went over to see what the situation was personally." Rupert said truthfully on the other end of the phone.
It's really a business trip.
Eloise sighed with relief.
Rupert heard what sounded like a sigh and raised an eyebrow, "Sister-in-law, are you worried about my brother?" "No."
She wasn't worried, but she was afraid he would get angry and avoid herself.
Of course, she couldn't have told Rupert the truth.
"Sister-in-law, don't worry, my brother was a big iceberg before he met you and no woman could get close."
At Rupert's words, Eloise's expression turned a little strange; was he assuming that she was worried about Hector cheating on her?
She would rather believe in ghosts than in Hector's cheating.
"You're thinking too much. I'll hang up if there's nothing else."
Without waiting for Rupert to respond, she simply hangs up the phone.
Should I give him a call?
Eloise looked at the number on her phone screen and hesitated to dial it.
While she was hesitating, her mobile phone suddenly rang, startling her.
She steadied herself and when she looked at the call alert, it was an unfamiliar number.
Frowning slightly, she pressed the call button, "Hello."
"It's me."
A familiar voice came from the receiver.
The pupils of Eloise's eyes narrowed and her expression became instantly serious.
...
City Women's and Children's Hospital.
The taxi pulled up under the inpatient building and Eloise thanked the driver before opening the door and getting out.
Looking towards the lobby of the building, she took a deep breath, lifted her feet and walked inside.
"I want to see you."
That phone call earlier was from Agnes.
"Haven't you always wanted to know where your child is? I can tell you."
"You come and see me at the hospital and I'll tell you everything."
Agnes had only just lost her baby and should hate her so much, how could she possibly tell her the truth?
But knowing this, she still came to the hospital.
Because she really wanted to know the whereabouts of that child.
"And you're really here."
Agnes was a little surprised to see her.
Eloise walked up to her, "Now that I'm here, shouldn't you tell me where the baby is."
"Take it easy." Agnes raised an eyebrow and said, "Aren't you supposed to be concerned when my baby is gone?"
Care?
Eloise frowned, half-heartedly, before squeezing the words out of her mouth, "You're young, you'll have children again."
A quick glint of grimness swept under Agnes' eyes and a sneer curled the corners of her mouth, "If it wasn't for you, the baby wouldn't be gone." "I'm sorry."
This apology was said by Eloise to the child who was too late to be born.
"One sorry and you want to erase the hurt you've done to me?" Agnes got a little agitated.
Just when Eloise thought she was going to spill her guts again as she had done before, she calmed down again.
At that moment, a masked doctor walked in, his two exposed eyes fixed on Eloise.
"The family came with me to get the medicine."
The look in his eyes was uncomfortable and Eloise subconsciously avoided it.
When the doctor saw that she was not moving, he said again, "The family will come with me to get the medicine."
It was just her and Agnes in the ward and the doctor supposedly thought she was family.
So Eloise spoke up and explained, "I'm not family."
No sooner had the words fallen than Agnes' voice followed.
"Dad and my mum are out, so you can take it for me."
Eloise wanted to refuse, but somehow ghosted into saying yes.
She followed the doctor out of the ward.
"Hey."
She sighed, I think it was the little bit of guilt in her heart that was at work.
The doctor walking ahead glanced sideways at Eloise and a quick glint of light flashed under his eyes.
Only Eloise wasn't paying attention.
She followed the doctor into the office.
"Wait, I'll go and get the medicine."
The doctor went into the inner room and Eloise waited outside.
In a short while, the doctor came out and handed her the box of pills in his hand, "Take this medicine three times a day, after meals."
Eloise picked it up and looked down at it.
She didn't notice the doctor creeping around behind her.
"Is there any other medicine?" She looked up and realised the doctor had disappeared.
She sensed someone behind her and tried to turn her head to get a better look, but the other person moved faster and reached out and covered her mouth. The force is great.
She tried to wrench it away, but couldn't, and could only keep struggling.
The other party dragged her towards the inner room.
No! Can't be dragged in!
Her eyes were full of fear and she knew that once she was dragged in, she was finished!
Not knowing where the strength came from, she flexed her elbows and thrust them back.
With a painful grip, her opponent loosened his shackles on her.
Freed, Eloise hurriedly turned and opened the door and ran out.
But the other side soon gave chase.
Strangely there was no one in the corridor, so quiet that the only sounds heard were her footsteps and the man's, and her heartbeat.
Seeing the other side about to catch up.
Eloise could only run into the stairwell, she tried to run down the hall and there was someone there.
But no sooner had the person run in than the man caught up with her, grabbed her hand and flung it hard against the wall.
"Ah!"
Eloise hit the wall so hard that she blanched in pain.
"Still trying to escape?"
The other man cornered her and pulled the mask off her face, revealing a face familiar to Eloise.
"It's you!"
Eloise stared at him in shock.
It was none other than the bandits who kidnapped Solomon that day and shot and wounded her.
The man smiled grimly, "Yes, it's me. It's been a long time."
With that, he reached out to touch her cheek.
"Don't touch me!" Eloise turned her face away in disgust.
The words angered the man and he grabbed her by the collar, forcing her to meet his eyes, "I'm telling you, you fall into my hands, I can touch anywhere I want."
Speaking of which, he surveyed her with an obscene smile, "I can't believe you're not bad looking and have a nice body."
At those words, Eloise was scared inside, but kept her composure on the surface, "It won't do you any good if you move me. Why don't you just let me go and pretend that today never happened." He was a fugitive wanted by the police and if he was smart, he should not have committed another crime.
Unfortunately, he is not a smart man.
"Put your mother's bullshit, do you think I'm going to take your word for it? Hector shut my brother down and I'll play with his woman."
When the man finished, he moved up to kiss her.
"You let go of me, let go of me..."
Eloise struggled hard, but he held her tightly against the wall, and the more he struggled the more obscene his smile became.
"Move, move again!"
Eloise gritted her teeth in anger as she watched his lewd and nasty appearance.
"You might as well behave yourself and I'll be gentle." The man patted her cheek.
Eloise didn't struggle any more, which appeared to the man to be a compromise, so he slackened off a little.
He didn't notice the stern glint under Eloise's eyes.
Suddenly, Eloise flexed her legs and slammed them hard against his crotch.
"Oh!"
The man bent over in pain.
Eloise took the opportunity to run for the stairs.
The man reacted quickly too, not caring about the pain, and went after him.
"Stinking woman, don't try to run away!"
Eloise glanced back, panicked, didn't notice her feet and stepped on them, rolling her whole body down the stairs and hitting her forehead against the wall.
It hurts!
She opened her eyes and they were a blur.
"Someone's coming, someone's fallen!" Someone shouted.
The voice sounded like it was coming from a great distance, and she closed her eyes and passed out.
