Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 306: Behind the scenes there is a messenger
A flash of panic crossed Agnes' face when she saw Rupert enter, but it was quickly concealed and she piled on a pleasing smile, "Mr Rupert, how did you find the time to see me?" Rupert walked up to her and sneered, "Do you think I'm here to see you?"
Agnes blushed, but recovered quickly, "And may I ask if Mr Rupert is up to something?"
"Was it you who called my sister-in-law to the hospital?"
Rupert stared at her intently, trying to see the slightest hint of a break in her face.
"Sister-in-law?" Agnes was a little surprised, "You mean sister?"
Rupert nods his head.
"I didn't ask my sister to come to the hospital." Agnes smiled shyly, "You should know that my sister and I don't have a good relationship, so how could I have asked her to come to the hospital?" "Not you?" Rupert narrowed his eyes, not believing her words.
"No."
Agnes was calm and didn't look like she was lying.
Rupert frowned, had he misunderstood?
"Mr Rupert, is something wrong with my sister?" Agnes asked. "Nothing."
Rupert gave her a deep look and then simply walked away.
As soon as he left, Agnes breathed a huge sigh of relief.
Scared the hell out of her!
If she hadn't been prepared, she might have shown her hand in front of Rupert.
But she didn't dare let up.
When something happens to Eloise, she will be the first person to be suspected, so she must be on guard and not show her hand no matter who comes.
Rupert came out of Agnes' ward thinking more and more about what was wrong, but he just couldn't figure out what was wrong.
He still thinks that Agnes must have had something to do with what happened to his sister-in-law.
So, as soon as he got back to the ward, he asked his assistant to go through the surveillance video again, not believing that the other party would not leave any traces if they were that clever.
...
When Hector's parents learn of Eloise's accident, they rush to the hospital.
"Rupert, what the hell is going on here?"
Hector's mother's brow was furrowed with worry at the sight of Eloise, who had not yet woken up in her hospital bed.
"Still checking." Rupert hesitated, "... Dad, Mum, my sister-in-law was over a month pregnant when the accident happened, but didn't keep it."
At this comment, Hector's parents froze.
It took a long time for Hector's mother to find her voice: "You, you mean your sister-in-law is pregnant?"
"Hmm." Rupert nodded, "But it didn't keep."
"How could this happen?" Hector's mother was somewhat unable to accept the harsh truth.
If not for this today, in a few months, she would be a grandmother again.
Available now... now...
Hector's mother couldn't help but feel sad and her eyes could not help but redden, "My poor grandson is gone!"
Hector's father, who was also feeling bad, put his arm around Hector's mother's shoulder and gave her a silent pat of comfort.
"What brings her to the hospital? Is she here for a medical check-up?" Hector's mother couldn't understand what a nice person was doing in a hospital.
"I'm not sure. But I guess someone should have told her to come." Rupert said.
"Who?"
Rupert pondered for a moment, "I suspect it was Agnes."
"Agnes?" asked Hector's mother, glancing at Hector's father, then asking, "Do you have proof?"
"She's in this hospital too."
At that, Hector's father frowned, "Even if she was in this hospital too, what direct evidence is there that it was her?"
"No."
Rupert's face became a little stony, "Even if it wasn't, I think it was her."
The Thompson family's situation could not have been clearer to Hector's parents, and there is indeed reason to suspect that Agnes deliberately intended to harm Eloise. But any suspicion is only a suspicion unless there is evidence.
"Did you tell your brother?" Hector's father asked.
"Said he had rushed back."
Hector's father sighed, "Hector must be blaming himself for what happened just after he went on a business trip."
"I shouldn't have let Eloise move out then if I knew this would happen."
Hector's mother regrets that she did not insist at the time.
"Mum, it's useless to talk about this now, the most important thing is that my sister-in-law is safe and sound."
Hector's mother looked over at Eloise in the hospital bed, "It's going to be okay."
...
It was early in the morning when the plane arrived at City J.
Hector rushed to the hospital as soon as he got off the plane and left all his luggage with Thomas.
When he arrived at the hospital, he went straight to Eloise's ward.
"Brother!"
As soon as Rupert saw him, he immediately stood up.
But Hector didn't even look at him, his gaze locked on Eloise in the hospital bed as he took one step over to him.
She was fine when he left the house yesterday.
Now it was lying here, so pale that there was no trace of blood.
"Eloise," he said, taking her hand in his and closing his eyes to hide the heartache that filled them.
Rupert dared not make a sound and stood quietly by.
After an unknown amount of time, Hector opened his eyes, his thin lips twitching as he asked, "What did the doctor say?"
"People are fine as long as they're awake, but ..."
Rupert gave a lurch.
"But what?" Hector looked at him with a sideways glance.
"The baby is gone."
"A child?" Hector's heart seized, it couldn't be what he thought it was, could it?
"My sister-in-law has been pregnant for over a month, but she didn't keep it." After Rupert finished, he hurriedly added, "Brother, don't feel too bad, you and your sister-in-law are still young. You and your sister-in-law are still young. You can have a baby anytime you want, and the most important thing is that your sister-in-law is fine."
"No." Hector's sword frowned fiercely, "Are you saying that Eloise is over a month pregnant?"
"Right." Rupert nodded.
How did Eloise get pregnant?
Hector thought it was strange how she could be pregnant when they had never had a substantial relationship.
Is...
No way!
Given her character, there is no way she would accept another man.
So what's going on?
When Rupert saw that his face was not right, he asked, "Brother, is something wrong?"
"It's fine."
Hector is reluctant to say much until things are clear.
"Did you find anything wrong?" Hector asked.
"Someone witnessed her sister-in-law falling down the stairs and said they had heard a man's voice."
Hector frowned, "Man?"
"Hmm. But when they went after them, they didn't see anyone. Should have run off."
"Seen the surveillance?"
"Watched it. But it's been tampered with so I don't really know what happened then." Has it been tampered with?
Hector's eyes narrowed, "Someone is trying to hurt Eloise, the man, and there's a point man behind it."
Rupert nodded busily, "That's what I thought. And it's someone who's up to no good that my sister-in-law would come to this hospital." "Did you find out something?" Hector turned his head to look at him.
"Agnes has been in this hospital since her miscarriage to get well."
At those words, Hector's gaze flashed, "That's her then."
He sounded very sure of himself.
"I know it's her too, but there's just no proof."
Rupert is distressed that there is no proof that she did what she did when it is clear that the suspect is right in front of her.
