Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 383: Who are you looking down on?
After the two of them had been cuddling for a while, Eloise had the good sense to let him go, even though he was her own man, she couldn't keep holding him up. After Hector left, she went back to her job and started to work like a maniac, trying to do the best she could within the company since she couldn't help elsewhere. On the other side of the room, Rupert was not as chummy as the two of them, having been up all night due to last night's events, and only after dawn did he drift off to sleep. Aisly came to Rupert's place after her usual shift, opened the door and called out a few times, but heard no answer.
She wondered why Rupert was so quiet today, when he would have been screaming his head off.
Aisly didn't know what had happened here yesterday, but if she did, she wouldn't have dared to come.
When she came upstairs, she knocked on the door a few times, but when no one answered, she opened it and found Rupert asleep on the bed.
When she saw Rupert's sleeping posture, Aisly couldn't help but snicker, he was a really rough sleeper.
When she opened the fridge, she found that there was a wide range of ingredients. It was a bit of an eye-opener for Aisly to find that a gentleman like him would go shopping for his own food. But on the top shelf of the fridge were mostly instant ingredients, so I guess he bought them to save time.
What she didn't know was that all these were but what Hector's mother had forced Rupert to buy, even if he couldn't cook anything, he wouldn't have starved himself to death.
Once everything was ready, Aisly started to show off her skills in the kitchen, often alone, she was very good at some home-cooked food and soon the smell was coming out of the kitchen. Rupert, who was asleep upstairs, smelt the smell of the food and came down sleepily.
The corners of his mouth curled up slightly when he saw the small, busy figure in the kitchen.
Leaning quietly against the door frame and watching her, Rupert suddenly felt that his life would be complete if he had this wife.
Aisly was unaware of the hot eyes staring at her from behind, a slight bead of sweat was forming on her forehead, but she didn't care.
The microwave went off and Aisly hurriedly took the porridge out, intending to put it in the living room, when she turned to see Rupert looking at her with a smile in his eyes.
"You scared the hell out of me, why didn't you tell me you were coming down?" Aisly couldn't help but grumble.
"If I had made a sound, then I would have disturbed you, I didn't think you were really good at it, a good wife and mother." When he saw Aisly's cooking, Rupert couldn't help but praise him. Aisly gave him a blank look and said, "Why don't you come and help?"
Rupert's mouth was watering as he set the table with all the food.
For some reason, the sight of these home-cooked dishes made Rupert feel that all the delicacies outside were inferior to them.
When he took a bite of the fish in his mouth, the meat was so delicious that Rupert gave it a thumbs up.
Aisly's heart felt good when she saw how happy he was eating.
But the next moment Rupert opened his mouth, she wanted to strangle the man straight away.
"It's a shame you're a nurse, find a good man and marry him, no man would turn down a woman who cooks for him."
Aisly disliked her, "How come I can't be a nurse, who are you looking down on?"
At her words, Rupert spat out his tongue and spat, "You're not a good nurse when you can't even get the needle in right now? I'm the only patient you've met who's been nice to me, if it was anyone else you'd have gone to the head nurse and sued you."
Aisly blushed a little, he was right, but still defiantly said, "Who can be a good nurse the first time, it takes time and effort, I'll get better and better."
"Better be, but I wouldn't mind if you came to be my personal nanny." Rupert said with a wicked grin.
At this, Aisly's cheeks reddened even more and she threw a chicken leg straight into Rupert's bowl, saying fiercely, "What a no-good, you can't even stop your mouth from eating."
At the sight of her blush, Rupert was in a good mood, and his displeasure from last night was now gone.
After they finished eating, Rupert cleaned up with her while Aisly washed the dishes and he put the kitchen trash together.
Why did he feel that he and Aisly were now spending time together like two newly married couples?
Rupert couldn't help but be shocked by this thought, and hastily dismissed the idea as not his own, what with being married and all, he hadn't had enough.
Had he been abused by his brother and sister-in-law recently? Or was he more lacking in love now?
But seeing Aisly's busy body, he thought this dull life was also quite interesting.
The kitchen was tidied up by Aisly and she was ready to go back since she had to go back on duty.
Seeing her packing up, Rupert stood by the door and said, "I say, you should quit your job at the hospital and come and look after me full-time, am I paying you very little?"
"It's my job to go to the hospital and be a nurse, and I can't give up what I've learned because of you." Aisly said seriously as she put on her shoes.
Rupert could not help but grimace at this, he did not know how he had gotten so carried away asking this question and was hoping that she would stay, but since she had said that, there was no need to hold her back. After leaving the villa, Aisly took a taxi and left.
There were two pairs of eyes watching her in the shadows, the two mercenaries from before, who had not left, but were looking for an opportunity.
The woman was a little puzzled and asked, "Hasn't it already failed? Why are you still looking for a breakthrough from him?"
The man smiled at this and responded, "In my dictionary there is no failure, it is the impossible that is most likely to become a turnaround, did you see that woman just now, she comes over every day at nine in the morning and comes and goes freely, she must have some kind of indescribable relationship with Rupert, if we follow her up, there is no way we will get something unexpected in time."
The woman nodded, there might be some truth in what he said.
"So what are we going to do?"
"You just need to follow her up properly, always report her location, and leave the rest to me." The man looked at the villa with a wry smile.
