Chapter 427: Break Her Legs

Her face was glistening with cold sweat, beads of sweat running down her forehead.

"I'll say."

When she spat, Marian let go of her hand.

"It was a woman who reached out to me, I remember she was gorgeously dressed and in her twenties, and dumped a picture on me."

She paused and then continued, "Said she was going to get this Eloise guy killed, promised to send me out of the country when it was done, and gave me a large sum of money." Hector frowned at that, what woman would have a grudge against Eloise?

Suddenly Agnes' face came into view and Hector jerked up from his seat, his face grim and scary.

"Hand her over to the police, I know who it is."

Other than Agnes who would put Eloise to death, Hector couldn't think of a second person.

Plus, now that the Gardner Group was desperate to merge with the Thompson Group, it would inevitably have to go through Eloise's approval.

As long as Eloise was gone, then Josh would rightfully inherit the money.

It must be said that Agnes' calculations were well thought out.

Before leaving the interrogation room, Hector punched the wall as if he were a raging lion.

After a brief explanation, Hector returned to the office.

Sitting in his office, his eyes clouded over as he reflected on the events of the past few days.

First Rupert had been killed, then Eloise had been hacked to death, and each incident had been so shocking.

Would those heartless people set their sights on Solomon in the future? It was still an open question.

It seemed their own previous protection of them was simply not enough.

He pressed the intercom, summoned Thomas in and instructed him, "We need extra men at the old house, and a few more around the lady and the young prince, 24 hours a day." Thomas immediately went to make the arrangements.

At this point, Agnes got word that the police were planning to come and arrest her and was very scared.

If Hector caught her, she would be ruined.

At home, Ela is still dreaming, unaware that the police have arrived at her door.

There is a knock on the door and Ela rises, thinking that Agnes has returned.

But when she opened the door and saw several men in police outfits, Ela panicked.

She asked calmly, "Comrade police officers, what is the reason for your sudden visit?"

One of the policemen, after showing his police card, took out a wanted notice, on which was Agnes' picture.

"Someone has reported that your daughter has bought a murder and we need to bring her to justice."

Ela was in complete disbelief at the police officer's words and she rushed to call Josh out.

Josh was also taken aback at the police officer's words and said with a smile, "Mr. Policeman, are you mistaken, how can my daughter be a murderer."

He even took a box of cigarettes out of his pocket and handed them to the police, but the police did not eat this at all.

The police officer said righteously, "This is the murderer she hired and has now been caught, pointing out that the mastermind behind it is Agnes. please do not hinder our work and let the suspect out as soon as possible." Despite the documents and evidence presented by the police, Josh was still not convinced that Agnes would do such a thing.

"Are you making a mistake, comrade police? Why would my daughter kill someone for no reason? Besides she didn't even have a purpose for doing it."

"Yes, yes, Agnes is a good girl, you must have made a mistake." Ela chimed in.

The police's patience was worn out by the duo's ramblings and they finally had to release the video of the day.

"She hired Miss Eloise to kill her for the Thompson family's inheritance, and now the evidence is overwhelming, so if you try to stop her again, you will be her accomplice."

Ela's eyes flashed harshly at the sight of Eloise on the rooftop, but she quickly hid it.

So that must be what Agnes had told her she had accomplished a great deal about the other day.

With a twinkle in her eye, Ela immediately changed her look to that of a victim and cried out, "Comrade police, you've got it all wrong. Eloise is her sister, not to mention that they have always had a good relationship. One of the policemen interrupted sternly before Ela had finished her accusation.

"That's enough, if you continue like this, you are obstructing the police and we can have you both detained according to the law. Also, you had better be able to provide the whereabouts of the culprit, otherwise you will be suspected of harbouring the criminal."

Taken aback, Ela instantly withdrew her expression from her face and busily explained, "But comrade police, we really don't know where Agnes has gone. She's always been a rather independent person who wouldn't tell us about her trip, and she hasn't been heard from since she left home yesterday."

"In that case, then, we need to conduct real-time surveillance of your place, and we hope you will cooperate with our work." Glancing at Ela, the policeman gestured for the two men beside him to stay behind and left with the others when he finished.

The two men left behind went straight into the door of Shen's house and sat down on the sofa.

Josh looked at the situation now and walked upstairs worriedly, Ela hastily following behind him.

After closing the door, Ela couldn't help but cry, "It must be that bitch Eloise who slandered, we Agnes would never do such a thing."

She said, her anger rising, "Now she's got the inheritance and she's trying to hurt us, Josh, you've got to do something for us! If this goes on, we won't be able to survive!"

Josh was already a bit annoyed, and when Ela made such a fuss, his anger came right up.

He pointed at Ela's nose and said, "Come on! You have the nerve to cry now? Isn't this all because of the good daughter you have taught her? Now you have the guts to buy a murderer, are you going to kill your father next?" Ela was shouting at Josh, not daring to speak, just wiping her tears away.

"Anyway, I don't care about this matter now, I want my life if she doesn't want it, that sinner better not show up for the rest of her life, or I'll have to break her legs!"
