Love Comes To Me
Chapter 553: Preparing for the Engagement

The butler is aware of the kind of presence Solomon is to Hector.

Although Hector is usually very strict with Solomon, at heart he loves him very much.

Over the years, father and son have lived in this foreign country, relying on each other, healing each other, and have long since become each other's spiritual pillars.

If something else goes wrong with Solomon, Hector may not really survive.

Hector waved his big palm and shook his head to dismiss the butler's proposal.

"No, let him play, he'll come back on his own when he's had enough."

The well-boned hand moved upwards and stopped at the bow tie.

With two casual tugs, he pulled the tie off and set it aside.

The knot in his throat rolled and he felt just a little bit of dryness in his mouth as he pressed his temples together and got up to stand. "Okay."

The butler was secretly relieved to hear this.

It didn't look like Hector was blaming Solomon very much.

"It's all right, you go on down."

Hector waved his hand and sent the butler down to work for now.

When the butler had gone, he dropped his arms and for a moment, the weariness in his brow was evident.

He walked to the front of the wine cabinet and stopped for a moment.

The tall glass wine cabinet is furnished with a full range of precious bottles of wine.

The most important thing is the wines produced by the estate, and he has collected all the famous ones from basically every era.

These were the three years when he was most likely to feel exhausted.

Although he was not a drinker, he needed to rely on alcohol to numb his nerves.

I always have a couple of glasses to refresh myself when I'm not busy.

So he kept a wine cabinet at home and brought back any wine he saw when he was out and about.

Without realising it, it became a habit, and the family's wine stash grew.

Opening a bottle of Krug champagne, he slowly poured it into a highball glass.

White fingertips turn the bottle and the liquid flows down the body, reflecting Hector's handsome face.

The production of this champagne is extremely low and the grapes used to make it are basically grown on small estates and are extremely valuable. The quality all needs to be maintained at the top level, so each one is well cared for.

It takes at least twenty years to make a great Cuvee Champagne in terms of colour and flavour.

The bottle in Hector's hand is no less old, only older.

The wine falls into the glass and the aroma fills the air.

Hector gave it a few gentle shakes and put it to his mouth for a sip, the bitterness turning to a mellow aroma as the wine entered his throat.

At the same time, the mobile phone in his pocket vibrated.

It was a video call invitation from Rupert.

Looking at it, he frowned and picked it up.

"Brother, where's Solomon, why haven't I seen him again, I haven't seen my sweet little nephew in ages."

Rupert's grumbling words came through, the same opening line customarily asked of Solomon.

Hector's thin eyelids rolled upwards and he returned a blank stare without good grace, "He's off playing, you guys don't always secretly chat on ins, what's the point of pretending?" At the thinly veiled words, Rupert gave a sudden tigerish shudder and laughed twice in embarrassment.

He rubbed his head and said sheepishly, "You know all about it."

Solomon's ins account was signed up with his help, and the two often go dark and troll Hector behind his back.

Hector grunted coldly, not meaning to pursue the matter, and asked coolly, "What is it you want?"

"It's not really a big deal ..." Rupert said, deliberately tuning in with a breath and selling the story.

With that, Hector made a move to hang up.

He was in a hurry and shouted, "Don't hang up, don't hang up, there's something I really need to tell you!"

A look from Hector shot through like a cold arrow, and Rupert didn't dare tease his brother any more.

Speak honestly. "Aisly and I are getting ready to get engaged," he confided.

Then it was a matter of staring nervously at Hector's expression and trying to restrain from smiling too freely on his own face. He was worried about stirring up his brother's sadness.

After all, before Eloise disappeared, the guys were still gleefully discussing the wedding.

Three years have passed and the scars of the Rogers family are still fresh in their minds.

But any mention of anything remotely related to Eloise becomes cautious.

On the other end, Hector sniffed, first stunned for a second.

And then nodded, with a little more warmth in his tone.

"That's fine, you've been in a relationship for a long time, it's good to settle down and give Aisly a name."

His brow was tinged with a hint of joy, and it was clear that Hector was genuinely happy for them.

"So will you and Solomon be back for our engagement?" Rupert inquired cautiously.

A phone call had also been made earlier to test the possibility of Hector returning to the country.

But the results were disappointing to him.

So now it was prepared for a loss, not expecting a positive answer from Hector.

On the other end, Hector's thin lips parted lightly, "Back."

The words of certainty fell to the ground and he gave his answer without the slightest hesitation.

Rupert wasn't paying attention and subconsciously assumed that Hector had refused.

With a hurt brow and a downcast look, she said, "Oh, well, that's okay, I can manage ..."

Halfway through his sentimentality, he reacted with a jolt.

He looked up at Hector in a daze and asked ecstatically, "Brother, what did you just say? You said you were going back home, seriously?"

At the moment Rupert is as happy as a two hundred and fifty pound fat man and is close to dancing in celebration.

Hector raised an eyebrow and said, "What's the point of lying to you, you're getting engaged and of course Solomon and I have to be there for such an important occasion." His tone was bland, but with an inexplicable certainty.

It was said with such deservedness that it made Rupert's nose tingle as he clasped his hands, propped them at his chin, and whispered, "Thank you, brother."

Thank you for being willing to come back for me and Aisly.

Hector looked away uncomfortably as Rupert kept staring and said breezily, "Come on, as far as I'm concerned."

Rupert nodded heavily at his words, beaming with joy.

"As for that, I'm going to tell Mum and Dad, they'll be so happy to know."

"Nothing more, I guess, hang up."

A faint smile also lifted the corners of Hector's mouth and he was the first to hang up the phone.

On this side of the square, the little girl in the pink princess dress runs back into Eloise's arms when she gets tired of running.

Tugging at her coat, she smiled and pouted at Eloise, "Mummy, I'm hungry, I want some cake."

"No, it's time for dinner later, you won't be able to eat cake now for the evening."

Eloise instinctively refused, shaking her head at the little girl.

Reach over to pick her up.

The little girl ducked and avoided her, her little hands waving wildly in the air as she looked at Eloise in aggression, the little girl purring with watery tears. "No, no, no, I want cake, I'm hungry, I can't walk, please Mummy."

Eloise narrowed her eyes and looked at the little girl with some seriousness.
