Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 644: So, don't blame her
Seeing this, Mr Fletcher and Mrs Matriarch did not know what to say for a while.
On the outside, the Rogers family looks happy and content, but only they know that this happiness is just a facade.
As long as Eloise does not return, there will always be a corner missing from the home.
Eloise is his son's life and his son is theirs, and as Hector grieves, they only grieve more.
"Hector, it's not the end of the line yet, everything has a chance to turn around." Mrs Matriarch advised.
Hector nods his head, this is what has always sustained him, otherwise he would have gone mad.
Looking at the side of Hector's face, Mrs Matriarch paused a little, but spoke anyway, "Hector, you'd better control your emotions if you're at home, or Solomon will be easily affected by you." "I know, Mum, I'll talk to Solomon."
With those words, Hector left.
Solomon's room was still closed and Hector knocked for a long time without any sound coming from inside.
"Solomon, it's Daddy, open the door, I have something to say to you."
Only when he heard it was Hector did Solomon open the door to the room.
His eyes are red, he has just cried, and his small figure is a little lonely and silent.
The painting he had just finished was still on the desk, and Hector's heart was in his throat when he saw it.
Solomon has drawn a small house with four people inside, Daddy and Mummy, and him and Sweety.
Hector's eyes moved away from the painting and fell on Solomon's face, saying gently, "Solomon, what are you doing?"
"I'm drawing a picture, I'm drawing daddy and mummy and sister, and we're living happily ever after as a family of four."
Solomon's voice slowly lowered, "But will this wish never come true?"
Seeing the forlorn look in Solomon's eyes made Hector's heart hard, but his face didn't show it.
Only saying warmly, "Why, when Mummy was away in the past, did Solomon think that it would be nice if Mummy just showed up?"
Solomon nodded his head vigorously, he was dreaming of his mummy at that time.
Hector stroked his son's head and whispered, "Now that Mummy is back, she can be seen and touched, so the next time she appears, it will be back to Solomon."
Hearing Hector's words made sense to Solomon and made him feel a little better.
He looked down and thought for a while before looking up and saying, "Daddy, I want to put this picture on the wall so that when Mummy comes back she will see it." Naturally, Hector had no objection and he helped Solomon to put the painting on the wall.
At the end of the day, father and son said some more words.
Only after watching Solomon's mood gradually recover did Hector get up and leave.
When he reached the door, he stopped again and said in a serious voice, "Solomon, it's not that Mummy doesn't want you, she must have had a reason for doing what she did. There are a lot of things that adults can't help themselves with, and you'll know that when you're older, so don't blame her."
Solomon sniffed and nodded vigorously, "I don't blame Mummy, I'll stay with Daddy and wait for Mummy to come back."
Hector nodded and turned to leave.
He was far less calm and open-minded than he appeared on the outside. Those words, which were only comforting to Solomon, were clear in his mind.
Solomon, however, was much more cheerful with his comfort.
The next day, Solomon went to school dutifully and got on well with his classmates.
Hector, meanwhile, shaved, changed his clothes and drove to the office.
Thomas was darkly alarmed to see Hector, and his boss's aura grew colder and deeper.
In less than a morning, three department directors in quick succession were reprimanded by their bosses and emerged from the office wiping their sweat and slinking.
Thomas was so solemn that he hastened to take his work seriously, fearing that he too would be singled out by his boss and given a reprimand.
Hospital.
Mrs Darlington is recovering well and was in an even better mood when she saw her son and Eloise turn up.
She kept looking at Eloise with the complete look of a daughter-in-law.
Eloise was a little uncomfortable, but barely tolerated it.
Mrs Darlington took Rowson's hand and enquired, "Rowson, are the wedding preparations about to begin?"
Eloise's spine stiffens involuntarily as the subject comes up.
Rowson didn't notice though and replied gently, "It's not too late for us to get ready when you're out of hospital."
"It's good that I can give you a hand when the time comes."
Mrs Darlington then asked about Sweety.
"She's very well behaved and has been talking about Grandma at home, so don't worry, I'll bring her to see you next time." Eloise replied in a slow voice.
The curve of Mrs Darlington's mouth grew more pronounced as she took Eloise's hand and said at length, "Eloise, you are a good boy and Rowson is a good boy, you two will be happy together." Eloise kept her head down, unable to smile, and it was hard to pretend to be happy even if she was.
Mrs Darlington went on to say to herself, "Eloise, at my age, I don't want anything more than for my children to be well.
Now that you are my child too, I see how thin you are and it hurts me. Don't keep everything inside you, talk to Rowson more, there is nothing in life that you can't get through."
Eloise fidgeted a little when she heard this and just felt as if a handful of nails had been scattered on the stool.
She wanted to escape from the ward, but she couldn't move her feet, as if she was pinned to the spot.
Looking at Mrs Darlington's still pale face, she finally smiled helplessly and said softly, "I know, don't think too much about it and get well."
Seeing that there was nothing else to do here with Mrs Darlington, Eloise went back.
It was as if two little people inside her body kept pulling, one saying let her escape, the other saying how could you bear it.
Eloise was in agony, as if her flesh and blood were being pulled.
Rowson looked on but could do nothing about it.
He knew how Eloise could cheer up, but he couldn't let her go, he couldn't let her go.
Deliberately broaching a subject, he asked her, "Eloise, do you have any ideas for a wedding dress and engagement ring?"
In his hands he was clutching several large atlases and flipping them over to Eloise with great interest.
Eloise, however, was not at all interested and said tersely, "It's up to you."
She really wasn't in much of a mood to think about that.
The smile faded from Rowson's face as he gazed deep into Eloise's eyes and said seriously, "Marriage is a two-person affair, once in a lifetime, and I don't want to be hasty." Although he had expressed his displeasure, Eloise continued to sit there without saying a word.
Seeing her like this, Rowson couldn't help but be a little hurt, but didn't say anything.
Turning the catalogue over, he pointed out some of the rings he was pleased with and showed them to Eloise, explaining the brand's philosophy to her in great detail. The same goes for wedding dresses.
