Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 650: An Unidentified Wild Child
The moment she bent her head down, Adeline hooked a cold smile.
With a crooked movement of her hand, she pretended as if her hand had slipped and knocked over Eloise's glass. The moment she looked down to pour her drink, Eloise had a premonition that something was wrong.
A woman's instinct made her subconsciously try to get up and duck out of the way.
But Adeline moved one step ahead of her.
The glass was poured straight down in Eloise's direction, and the full red wine liquid poured out at once. The liquid still spilled onto Eloise's gown, which in turn ran down the corner of the table.
Eloise's face darkened a few shades as she looked at the large stain that had been stained on her gown.
The glass would have fallen over in that position just now, it was definitely artificial now.
But before Eloise could scream, the originator exclaimed first.
Adeline gave a very frightened look, covered her mouth and apologised to Eloise.
"Ah, how can this be? I'm sorry, I just slipped and stained your dress, you don't blame me, do you?"
Yet the mouth says sorry, but the body doesn't see the guilt at all.
A normal person, if they weren't careful, would be scrambling to find something to wipe the red wine off Eloise's clothes. But the young lady just stood by, like a spectator.
Not forgetting to add his own performance, the acting is slightly flamboyant.
The corners of Eloise's mouth twitched slightly as she listened.
The commotion here also attracted the attention of people nearby, many of whom stopped to look at Eloise and Adeline.
Adeline takes the opportunity to sell pity and keeps pulling Eloise to apologise.
"I'm so sorry, you can scold me if you want, it's my fault, my hands were clumsy, you got up and I was startled, my hands shook and I knocked your glass over." In a panic, you can still tell the "truth".
Eloise listened on, her eyes heavy with annoyance.
Adeline is clearly trying to use the power of public opinion to keep her from getting angry.
After all, she had apologised so "sincerely", and if she didn't accept it, she would be accused of being unrelenting.
Eloise took the tissue handed to her by the waiter and wiped the water stains from her gown.
Then she looked up, her eyes bursting with an icy, radiant light.
It was as if the ice on the snowy heights was looking straight towards Adeline.
For a moment, Adeline took a step backwards, surprisingly choking a little.
Why did the aura from this woman suddenly become so overpowering?
Eloise spoke with an expressionless face, "Adeline, if you really felt sorry, you should have acted on it instead of standing around not even handing out tissues." In a flash, Adeline's smug face could no longer smile.
Rather, she didn't expect Eloise to embarrass her directly in front of so many people.
In three words, she was described as an uneducated person.
Her face was on fire, and Adeline heard the low murmurs of the bystanders, wanting to burrow into the ground immediately, ashamed and annoyed. Fingernails pinching into her palms, Adeline glared angrily at Eloise.
But Eloise finished her own words and didn't get any more aggressive.
No longer caring about the bystanders, she spread her long, slender legs and headed in the direction of the bathroom.
With the hem of her skirt in her hand, Eloise walks unhurriedly in the direction of the bathroom, leaving with a proud, lonely back, not at all in a state of distress. Adeline, on the other hand, was pointed out by some people who were debating whether it was a deliberate attempt to target Eloise, with panic in her eyes. However, it also fuelled her resentment towards Eloise even more, with a sultry look curling in her eyes.
She turned and left in indignation, returning to her own territory and pulling in a few celebrity ladies.
After speaking to them about what had happened, the men also had angry looks on their faces.
"Mr Hector?"
And as Hector on the other end was talking to someone, his afterglow swept up Eloise's figure entering the bathroom.
Her pace slowly became faster, and she kept looking down at something.
Hector couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, which would be staring off over there, when the man next to him called out to him tentatively. "Sorry, what did you just say, I didn't hear you, please say it again."
Retracting his gaze, Hector suppressed the urge to go to Eloise.
Over here, Eloise entered the bathroom, the coldness under her eyes gradually dissipating.
She took a cupped handful of water and gently sprinkled it over the area where she had splashed the liquor, rubbing it slowly to clean it. Fortunately, she was wearing a dark gown today, and after washing it with water, it wasn't so obvious.
However, it was really quite a bad party experience today.
Eloise sighed and planned to stay inside the bathroom for a while until her clothes were dry before going out. However, a minute later, Adeline barged right in with a group of men and Eloise's nerves were instantly on edge. Eloise subconsciously tried to get out of the way when it became clear that the other party was up to no good.
But as soon as she moved, Adeline instructed someone to block her path.
Seeing her relentlessness, Eloise couldn't help but feel a little headache and looked coldly at Adeline who was leading the way. "Adeline, what the hell do you want?"
"Nothing to do, just catching up, take it easy." Adeline's expression was slightly grim as she reached out to touch Eloise.
Eloise raised her hand to knock it away and said coldly, "I don't remember us being that close, I have nothing to say to you."
With that, Eloise turned away from Adeline and tried to leave.
Adeline blocked her and said not very kindly, "But I did."
At that moment a cleaner came out of the bathroom and saw them surrounding Eloise, his face terrified.
"What are you looking at, don't get lost yet!"
Adeline's attendant yelled, his eyes glaring at the cleaner in disgust.
The man was so frightened that he left at a fast pace.
The door to the bathroom was then pushed open by a couple of people around Adeline, who nodded at Adeline after confirming that no one was inside.
The scene also reminded Eloise of a secondary school student fighting, and a deep sense of helplessness overcame her.
"You're like this because Rowson and I are getting married? Then you don't have to worry about it, I'm getting married to him ..."
It's not certain.
Now that Eloise is outnumbered and she knows what Adeline is after, she patiently tries to explain to Adeline.
That was only because Mrs Darlington's dying promise didn't necessarily count and she didn't really want to marry Rowson.
But her words did poke directly at the scars of Adeline's heart.
Thinking that Eloise was showing off, Adeline's face turned very ugly on the spot.
She shouted, "What are you? Strutting your stuff with me here? You think you're so big just because you're married to Rowson? Don't get cocky. Everyone out there knows you've got an unidentified bastard, and you're dreaming of marrying into the Darlington family!"
