Chapter 54

Early morning of 1 January

Miami, Florida

If I had been told one day that I would be walking on the beach with Gael, I wouldn’t have believed it and I probably would have laughed in the face of anyone who would have dared to tell me such a crazy thing. Despite my disbelief, despite the fact that this still seems like a joke to me, and despite the fact that at times I’m still waiting to wake up, here I am holding his hand while he looks around again and again.

-I tell him, “Handsome, it’s three o’clock in the morning, believe me there’s no one there, and if there was, he’d probably be drunk, because he’s had so much to drink for New Year’s Eve. – I tell him with a chuckle, as his paranoia makes me laugh.

-I know, it’s just that this freedom is a bit strange for me, do you think your parents are upset that we ran away after the toast? he asks me with a lot of doubts and I deny.

-How do you think? You’ve got my parents in your pocket; besides, they think we’re in one of the most exclusive clubs in South Beach celebrating together,” I say mischievously and he laughs.

He stops in the middle of the beach and faces me, “Are you sure you don’t want to go? There’s still time. – He asks me and I deny with a huge smile on my face.

-No. I don’t want to go anywhere where there are people. I just want to be with you and enjoy all this. – I say very sure of my words and there’s a sensual smile on his face making me delirious.

-And what’s all this?” he asks, playing dumb and I laugh.

I stare at him as I slip my arms around his shoulders and cling to his body, “All this is being in love with you. You drive me crazy, Gael Enriquez,” I tell him firmly and bite his lips.

One of his hands releases my waist and goes to my hair. He tangles his fingers in it and combs it delicately, “I’m very much in love with you too, Serena Hausser. You have no idea how much I like you… how much you provoke in me when you look at me the way you do now with those big green eyes of yours. – He says, making me sigh. -Spending the holidays with you and our families has made me see what a beautiful future there could be between the two of us, it makes me want to do crazy things with you. – He continues, and I feel my legs tremble as I listen to him talk like this.

-A lot of crazy things,” I ask and bite my lips.

He nods and smiles, “Too many…” He says and brushes my lips with his fingertips.

My mind becomes dangerous with him looking at me and talking to me like that. I take courage – How to make love to me in the sea under the moonlight? – I ask him and he laughs.

-That sounds very, very exciting, but aren’t you afraid of sharks,” he asks me and I can only laugh at his question.

-Don’t be silly,” I tell him and k**s him.

-Not silly, honey, just cautious,” he replies against my lips and I k**s him again.

-Stop watching so many movies,” I joke and we laugh.

-I’ll keep that in mind, Miss Hausser…. And really, if I die, I’ll die happy with you, won’t I? – He asks me and k****s me harder.

We’re kissing as if there’s no tomorrow, his tongue roaming over every corner of my mouth as if he wants to learn it by heart. It tangles with mine, and we continue in a game that makes the temperature rise with every moment.

His hands begin to search for a way to slip out of my dress as we walk towards the shore. My hands unbutton her shirt and once they manage to get rid of it, she throws it on the sand.

We undress each other, kissing, touching, biting. He knows exactly what to do to make me delirious. Our feet begin to feel the waves of the sea and so we submerge until our bodies are almost completely covered.

He looks into my eyes and smiles triumphantly, “I love you in every way, baby,” he says and makes my legs wrap around him.

-I love you, I love you…” It’s only two words that leave my lips, but they are the most important of all.

-And I love you…” He says in agitation and it is in the middle of our confession that he enters me, making me cry out in pleasure.

What a strange sensation to feel his body in me as I feel the waves crashing against our bodies. He moves mercilessly and each thrust takes me higher and higher.

We’re leaving everything in this moment and I feel it in every detail of him. I cling tighter to his back until my body surrenders to his. It takes him a few seconds to follow me and we can only look into each other’s eyes – I love you – he says again and k****s me to seal the moment.

I can hardly breathe, but I manage to tell him that I love him too and I stare at him knowing that this man is the one I’ve been dreaming of all my life.

-Everything all right?” he asks me worriedly and I nod.

-Yes love… Much more than fine,” I reply with a smile.

He caresses my face and narrows his eyes, “It’s just that you look at me differently? Did I hurt you,” he asks and I laugh.

-No! I’ve been fascinated… it’s just that I’ve just realised that it was you with the man I’ve been dreaming of all my life. You complement me in every possible way. – I confess to him and he stares at me with a huge smile on his face.

-I know I still have fears to overcome, but I can only imagine overcoming them with you,” he confesses and in those words I find the answers to each of my doubts.

I know we can be happy together; I’m sure of that.
