Chapter 332 A Couple In Love

After the bath, the lovebirds spent a romantic night together.

Mrs. Faber arrived at around ten in the following morning.

"Please take care of Clarissa today, Mrs. Faber. I'll be heading to the company in the afternoon," Damien said.

"Alright."

Clarissa looked at Damien with eyes full of affection. It was obvious that she didn't want him to leave.

"What's with that look? Do you miss me that much?" Damien walked to Clarissa's side and pinched her cheeks.

"Of course not! You'll be back in the evening. It's not like you're leaving for days," Clarissa lied. After spending three days together, Clarissa felt reluctant to let him go.

It almost felt like they were about to be separated for a very long time.

"Look at the two of you being all lovey-dovey together! What's the point of calling me back so soon?" Mrs. Faber joked. She felt she was disturbing the couple from spending some quality time together "Mrs. Faber! It's not like that!" Clarissa denied, embarrassed.

"Oh, Madam! I've only gone back for a few days, and you look even happier than before.” Mrs. Faber looked at Clarissa's flushed cheeks and commented, "It really seems like I'm disturbing the two of you from having some alone time together."

"I've already told you, Mrs. Faber! It's not like that!"

Being a middle aged woman, it had been a while since Mrs. Faber experienced strong and intense love that only youngsters had the privilege to experience. She looked at the couple, and felt happy for them. Noticing that Mrs. Faber was in a good mood, Clarissa could sense. that something good happened when the latter was back home.

"How's your son's progress in his studies, Mrs. Faber?" Clarissa changed the topic instantly.

Just now, Clarissa was actually peeking at Damien's reaction when Mrs. Faber was making fun

of them.

Alas, he was still as emotionless as ever.

"He's doing very well! His teachers said that as long as he's willing to put in the effort, it'll be a breeze for him to opt for the university he wants. My son told me he wants to go for economics at the University of Florin. As his mother, I only hope for the best for him, but I'm still worried that he might not get his first choice of university." Mrs. Faber voiced her

concerns.

"The University of Florin? Isn't that the university Grandpa Lawrence attended?" Clarissa sounded slightly shocked.

"Exactly. My son is very active in sports. He's almost six foot tall and loves basketball. I'm just worried he'll spend too much time on sports and neglect his studies. My husband and I have

been nagging at him so much that he's sick and tired of us."

"Come on, Mrs. Faber. He's still a kid! Cut him some slack," Clarissa said with a smile.

"I'm leaving," Damien said. He vanished right after leaving that remark.

The place seemed empty and quiet without his presence, even though Mrs. Faber was still chatting away in the living room.

Clarissa felt taken aback by his absence. Deep down, she felt disappointed that he didn't stay behind.

She had never felt this way before.

When she was married to Damien in the past, she was never so attached to him.

It was obvious that her relationship with Damien had won over hers and Zach's, given that she was never this emotionally invested in Zach in the past.

Compared to Zach, she was so much closer to Damien.

Meanwhile, at New East Corporation.

Since Damien had taken a break from work for three days, heaps of documents were piled up on his desk.

He looked through them one by one and put his signature on them.

Soon, Ray arrived at his office.

"President Lawrence, you're back!" Ray said jokingly as he sat on the sofa.

"Hello, Ray."

"How are you? I heard you've been spending time with Clarissa these days."

"I'm good. Spending time with Clarissa is better than spending time with you." Damien didn't even look up as he poured through the documents one by one.

"Janet from the audit department said that she wanted to tell Clarissa something. She wants me to inform you about it."

Only then did Damien look up. "Why can't she inform Clarissa by herself? Why does she have. to go through you to tell me? Besides..." Damien folded his arms in front of his desk. "Isn't the finance departmen busy? Why do you look like you have nothing to do?"

"The reason Janet wants me here is that she thinks it's inappropriate of her to ask Clarissa to the company for a meeting without your approval. Since she's not brave enough to come here herself, she asked me to do it for her. I was sending some documents to the audit department earlier when I bumped into Janet," Ray explained.

"She wants Clarissa to come to the company for a meeting?"

"Yes."

Damien reached for his phone and called Janet.

"Is it okay if Clarissa attends the meeting tomorrow morning?" Janet asked.

After hanging up, Damien made another phone call, this time to Clarissa.

"What's the matter?" Clarissa, who didn't have anything to do at home, answered his call

happily "Janet wants you to come to the company tomorrow for a meeting" "Sure. Should I go with you tomorrow, or by Leah's car?" "You can come with me tomorrow."

"Alright."

Damien hung up "Why didn't you ask Janet to contact Clarissa by hersell? Look at you! You even went out of your way to call Clarissa. It's quite obvious you're in love with her," Ray joked around. "That's none of your business." Damien reached for the cigarette and lit it up

"Come on, tell me! Since when have you gotten back together with Clarissa? I have to say, I didn't notice it before."

"You seem to have a lot of free time. Why don't I assign some tasks for you to complete?"

"Alright, alright! I'm sorry. I'll go now" Having said that, Ray stood up quickly and left.
