Chapter 405 Spare Some Mercy

After receiving the phone number, Damien dialed it.

The call soon connected. Caleb turned out to have a rather nice voice, and he was very polite with his words.

"Are you President Lawrence?"

"Yes."

"Apologies for the trouble, sir. Where are you now? I'll go to you."

"I'm at Imperial. Contact my driver directly, and he'll pass the things to you."

"Okay. Thank you, President Lawrence." Caleb hung up after that.

Damien stared at his phone and muttered to himself, "Youth."

That stunned Ray, who was enjoying his steak. He looked away from his food and turned to Damien with an incredulous stare. "What on earth are you talking about? You're still young." "I am?" Damien looked at Ray.

"Well, you're still single."

Damien immediately frowned, obviously unhappy at Ray's cheeky answer.

Ray chuckled, and resumed eating.

"Seems we're not returning today. Let's stay the night at my grandfather's place," Damien

said.

"Sure."

After dinner, they went back.

The next morning, the chauffeur dropped by to pick Damien and Ray up and send them back to Genovia.

"Hey, Damien. I think Eden Investment Corporation would be the better option. What do you think? The CEO looks like someone we can trust," Ray suggested. "Since when do you know how to analyze people?"

From how Damien didn't take his words seriously, Ray knew that Damien had already made up

his mind.

"Have you passed the things to Caleb?" Damien asked the chauffeur.

"Yes."

"Is the boy handsome?" Ray interrupted abruptly.

Damien shot Ray a disdainful glare. "Should I ask about your sexual orientation as well?"

"You're the one who mentioned youth, so I thought you were interested." Ray patted Damien's shoulder. "I'm doing this for your sake, okay? So, how is he? Is he good looking?" "Uh..." The strange question obviously turned the chauffeur tongue-tied.

He didn't want to offend President Lawrence by praising someone else's looks.

Damien turned to look out through the window. Judging from the driver's reaction, it was easy to assume that Caleb was indeed rather fetching in terms of appearance. 'I knew it. Youth.'

Damien and Ray carried out a few more work-related tasks before finally heading home.

"Mrs, Faber, I've already passed the things to your son," Damien said as he took off his blazer once he reached his house.

"Oh, yes. He told me that yesterday, sir. I asked him to buy you a meal in return."

"I was busy yesterday. He can treat me next time," Damien said.

"Daddy! You're back!" Neil ran out of his room like a runaway pony and pulled Damien into a warm hug.

"Did you miss me?"

"Yeah! I missed you so much!" Neil gave Damien a soft peck on the cheek.

His sweet gesture reminded Damien strongly of Clarissa. Without realizing it, Damien began to wonder if she missed him just as much as he missed her.

The next day, New East Corporation decided to cooperate with Eden Investment Corporation. This collaboration meant Damien would be making frequent visits to Florin.
