Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) -
Chapter 440
Chapter 440 You Have a Way with Younger Men Damien didn't go home at all. Instead, he led Neil by the hand and strolled around the University of Florin at a casual pace. At the same time, he kept typing away on Whatsapp. "Daddy, where are we going?" Neil asked, sounding very unhappy. "We're visiting an elderly man." "Is he one of Grandpa's friends?" "Yes. He's one of your grandfather's students." "My grandpa had students? It seems Grandpa and that pretty lady are the richest people in this world!" Neil sounded very envious.
"That woman?" Damien lifted an eyebrow.
He didn't know how well Clarissa's studies were in the past, but she sure had a way with younger men.
Till now, the only relationship she acknowledged was the one she had with Zach. What about the relationship she had with Damien? Was that just a valiant effort for Clarissa to sell her body for her mother's sake? Did she think of herself as a victim who was forced to submit to his authority?
The outcome of Clarissa's relationship with Damien left him with a son and a dead daughter.
All Damien could do was to chuckle dryly.
Dannien didn't have Don added as his Whatsapp contact. He found Don's number through other people. After that, he told Don that he would be paying him a visit tonight.
Don was nervous and flattered at the same time. Not only was Damien the grandson of his beloved and most respected teacher, but Damien was also a famous businessman in Genovia. Don did hear of Damien's feats over the years, but he had never gotten in contact with Damien before.
Don currently stayed in the Indigo Hall. He had his wife tidy up their place and make tea for Damien. His wife decided to take a walk outside in the garden in order to let Don and Darnien catch up. "It's been a long time, Professor Mclaurant." Damien studied the interior of the house the moment he entered the front hall. "So, this is what the staff dorm looks like in the University of Florin."
"Yeah. It's pretty cozy here." Don followed Damien's gaze. "Are you looking for someone, Damien?"
"No, I was just looking around."
"Don't mind the mess at home. I already had another house ready, but my son got into a university outside of Genovia. Not to mention, I have students to teach as well. In the end, I chose to move back into the university so that it's more convenient for my career. My wife
doesn't have to prepare meals for me every day since I can settle them in the cafeteria. Back when I met you, you were just as old as your son. So many years have passed in the blink of an eye. This is your son, right?" "Yes," Damien answered. After that, he said to Neil, "Neil, this is Mr. Mclaurant."
"Daddy told me you're the richest man ever, so I must learn from you." Neil had a pretty high EQ, so he was talented at cheering people up. Don didn't know why Neil would refer to him as the richest man, but it tickled him pink. He chortled as he replied, "Actually, your father is the richest man alive. It's rare to meet people who have never heard of him!"
"I heard you've paired Caleb with a woman, Professor Mclaurant." Damien steered the topic to the main point.
"Yes. Are you talking about Clarissa Johnson? She's a professor who returned from overseas who's new to the job. At the moment, she's an assistant lecturer to Professor Franklin and leads her own batch of master's undergraduates. Caleb never got into any relationship over the past four years in this university. Tons of girls yearn to be his girlfriend, you know? Now that he's finally developed feelings for a woman, it turns out that she's out of his league! Matchmaking them is the least I can do for him." When Don talked about how he managed to
get Caleb and Clarissa together, he sounded very proud of himself. "Stop pairing them together. Clarissa's my wife." Don was speechless after he heard Damien's statement. His face turned ghastly white for a moment before forming into a shade of sickly green. Don could only pick up his teacup and sip from it awkwardly. Meanwhile, Neil turned to look at Damien, surprise and delight written all over his face. Had his father finally realized his feelings? "But... I've already paired them together," Don replied awkwardly. "It's fine. Just don't do that anymore." "I'm sorry, Damien. None of us knew anything about Clarissa's background, so we didn't know that she and you had..." Don's gaze fell on Neil's face at that very moment.
There were so many questions bombarding his mind. For example, who did Damien have a baby with? How was Clarissa his wife?
But since Damien had spoken up about this matter, it would be bad to continue pairing Clarissa with Caleb.
Besides, Don was a teacher and not
matchmaker. He had no intention of doing that on purpose. He had simply done it out of convenience.
