Chapter 4:

? ? ? ? ?

Mitchel stopped and looked at Raegan's slender fingers clutching his shirt. His eyes darkened.

"Because?"

Raegan lowered her eyes and lied: “No… I don't like hospitals.

There is something about them that scares me.

She was so afraid of being caught in that lie that she couldn't look him in the eyes. Now she didn't know if he believed her or not.

When he didn't say anything, she added softly, "I've already taken some medicine. "I'll be fine as soon as I get some rest."

Mitchel looked down. From his perspective, he could only see half of her beautiful face.

Her face was so small and her long curled eyelashes trembled as she kept her gaze downcast. Maybe the fever had made her blush, making her look so fragile at that moment.

Mitchel's heart melted against his will.

Without thinking twice, he turned around and opened the apartment door. He then led Raegan directly to the bedroom.

Raegan breathed a sigh of relief. She was so nervous that she was sweating. He even had wet hair. All he wanted was to take a cold shower and go to bed.

«I'll be fine alone. You can go now. It was clear she was pushing him away.

This place was new to Mitchel. After all, he had been used to living in a mansion his entire life.

"Okay," Mitchel said, but he didn't move an inch. He just took off his tie and slowly unbuttoned his shirt.

The sight of him made Raegan's heart skip a beat. It scared him to death.

He widened his eyes and shouted, “What are you doing? Don't take off your clothes! What do you want?

She didn't understand why Mitchel wanted to sleep with her now that she was sick. Was his cock thinking for him? How could he be so petty?

Mitchel stood still and looked at her without blinking.

Raegan's heart was beating fast.

She couldn't stand being looked at like that.

His eyes were different from the others. They were full of lust.

It was like they could see through every piece of clothing I was wearing.

Suddenly, Raegan felt warm again. Biting the inside of his lips, he fanned himself and murmured, "I don't feel well now."

I was telling him that it was not the time to have sex.

Furthermore, he had told her that he wanted a divorce. What was the point of having sex when that façade would soon be gone?

Mitchel still didn't say a word. His expression was grim as he continued to look at her with eyes bright with desire.

The next second, he placed both hands on the bed, leaned down, and whispered in her ear, “Raegan, I'm not an animal.”

His soft tone dripped with lust, contradicting what he had just said.

Mitchel stared at her flushed face before smiling mischievously and walking into the bathroom.

Once alone, Raegan slapped her flushed cheeks. It was all Mitchel's fault. He always had a way of making her blush. Gee!

Minutes passed before Mitchel came out of the bathroom. He turned to look at her and revealed that the bathroom was ready.

As? Since when was he so considerate? Raegan was a little surprised.

Raegan was a neat freak. She was all sticky now, so she wanted to soak in the bathtub right away.

He got up. The sudden movement made his head turn. He leaned back and nearly lost his balance.

Luckily, Mitchel caught her just in time and lifted her up. He took her directly to the bathroom.

His scent made Raegan's heart race. She was so nervous that she stammered, "Put me down."

At her request, he carefully lowered her into the bathtub. Then he sat on the edge and reached out to undress her.

He moved as skillfully as if he had done it many times before.

The cold pads of his fingers brushed her skin, making her shiver with each touch.

Raegan grabbed the collar of her shirt and blushed uncontrollably. Then she said timidly, “I can undress myself. Go now.

"What's the problem?" Mitchel asked, studying her nervous expression.

"It's not the first time I've done this."

Heat washed over his ears at that moment. I could feel them turning red.

Every time they had sex, Mitchel made it his duty to take her to the bathtub and clean her carefully.

Now, as long as she thought about Mitchel and the bathtub, Raegan couldn't bear to stare at him.

Raegan shook off the love scene that appeared in her mind. After taking a deep breath, she said, “I would like to be left alone. Please go."

Seeing that he was serious, Mitchel raised his hands and turned around.

The bathroom door soon slammed shut.

After a good soak in the tub, Raegan felt much better. She came out wearing only a bathrobe. To his surprise, Mitchel was still in the room.

He did his best to ignore it. Just as she lifted the quilt to lie down on the bed, Mitchel grabbed her waist and dragged her back to the bathroom.

"What are you doing? Why do you want to go to bed with wet hair?

With that, she unwound the small towel around her head, grabbed the hair dryer, and got to work.

Raegan's mind was in a mess as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. She noticed that his hair was wet too, but that only made him look more elegant.

The familiar smell hit his nose and made his heart race.

Mitchel's care was torture for her. She was afraid of falling even more in love with him. You might decide not to get divorced anymore.

Once her hair was dry, she looked at his face through the mirror and thanked him in a low voice.

Mitchel remained standing behind her. Their bodies were almost touching.

With one hand on the sink, Mitchel looked at his reflection in the mirror. The corners of his eyes tilted as he asked, "Is that all the thanks I'm going to get?"

Raegan gasped softly. The air in his lungs was going in the wrong direction at that moment. She gaped at him with her eyes much wider.

She usually let him get his way whenever he did something for her, but she couldn't do it now.

Their marriage was about to end.

Through the mirror, Mitchel could see his eyes blurring and his nose turning pink. These changes excited him for some reason.

Suddenly, he became a little angry. He pinched her chin and warned her angrily, “Never look at other men like that. Do you hear me?

Raegan furrowed her eyebrows, confused. What was he referring to?

His eyes darkened even more as he added, “There are a lot of animals out there. Many men are not as good as me. Understood?"

How odd. Raegan thought, not understanding how a man could act impulsively if he saw her like that.

She froze like a deer in the headlights when she noticed him approaching. When an alarm bell rang in his head, he quickly turned his face.

Mitchel grabbed her roughly by the shoulders and pressed her against the sink. He ordered him: "Don't move."

Their lips almost met and their eyes locked. Raegan thought he was going to kiss her. His heart raced and even his eyelids trembled with anxiety.

But Mitchel didn't do anything crazy. He just kissed her forehead as if he were leaving his mark on her.

Then he pinched her cheeks and said in a hoarse voice, "This is your punishment."

He sounded very serious.

His statement left her speechless.

What nonsense!

Raegan rolled her eyes, annoyed and disappointed.

Why did she let his tenderness take her breath away? How could he forget his decision so easily? It should be controlled!

Suddenly, Mitchel's phone rang, bringing her back to reality.

He left in silence to make room for her.

At the same time, Mitchel answered the phone and went out to the balcony.

He chatted on the phone for a while before hanging up and returning to the bedroom.

By then, Raegan had already gotten into bed.

She knew he was about to leave, but she didn't try to stop him.

“Close the door behind you,” she said before he could say a word.

"Okay. Sleep well". After saying that, Mitchel picked up his coat, walked to the door, and turned to look at her before leaving.

It wasn't until she heard the door close that Raegan pulled her head out from under the duvet.

At that moment there was turbulence in his heart. Soon she felt very bitter.

Everyone knew that Lauren was the only woman Mitchel loved.

Did she stand a chance against this stunning woman?

Would the baby change anything? Not a chance.

Thinking of this, Raegan tore up the pregnancy test result in a fit of rage.

She felt lucky that she hadn't told him about her pregnancy yet.

After all, breaking the news would only have brought him more humiliation.

Back at the hospital, Mitchel was standing in front of the window that looked out onto the beautiful night sky. The moonlight accentuated his straight features, giving him an extraordinary appearance.

“Mitchel,” Lauren shouted as she lay on a nearby bed.

She was wearing a deep purple silk nightgown that showed off her figure.

Mitchel snapped out of his thoughts and turned to her.

“How are you feeling now?”

«I'm better now. “I’m sorry I bothered you again,” Lauren said guiltily.

"Jocelyn was making a fuss over nothing."

His face twisted piteously as he spoke. It was like he was reminding Mitchel how special he was to him.

"It's not that big of a deal." Without any expression on his face, Mitchel asked lightly, “Are you hungry? “I can ask Matteo to bring you whatever you want to eat.”

"No, thanks." Lauren asked in a soft voice, “Where were you before?

Did I interrupt something?

“Not at all,” Mitchel replied calmly. He glanced at his watch and said, “It's late. Go to sleep."

"I'm very scared, Mitchel."

Suddenly, Lauren wrapped her hands around Mitchel's waist from behind and sobbed uncontrollably. She buried her face in his back.

«Stay with me, please. Just for tonight, okay?
