Chapter 915

Hayden took out his phone and made a call. "There's a car falling me and my wife. Find out their identity, but make sure they don't realize we're onto them," he instructed.

"Why don't you want them to know we've noticed?" Keira asked, puzzled.

"Don't startle the snake. If they really have ulterior motives, taking care of this might just bring another wave," Hayden explained. His reasoning made sense, and Keira nodded in understanding.

They picked up Lena's suitcase and were on their way to deliver it when the car behind them got rear-ended. They stopped to check, and Hayden received a message-a series of photos and some information. "Windy City... the Mitchell family?" Hayden muttered under his breath.

Keira leaned over to look at the photos. One showed the driver partially visible, cautiously keeping the car windows barely open. The backseat passenger was only captured in silhouette. But Hayden's people were well-prepared and used high-definition cameras, managing to capture a clear shot of the backseat-a white-haired old man.

After going through the photos and information, Hayden made another call, this time on speaker so Keira could hear as well.

"We caused the rear-end collision, but they don't want to pursue it. They clearly don't want to escalate. Should we keep tailing them?" the voice on the other end asked.

"Yes. Keep following them, but make sure they don't notice. Also, send me all the information you have on the Mitchell family from Windy City," Hayden instructed before hanging up.

"Do you

have any history with the Mitchell family from Windy City?" Keira asked.

"No, but the Mitchell family is well-known there. I've heard of them. Apparently, they recently had some trouble-a family member fell into a coma and is now essentially a vegetable," Hayden replied, leaving Keira momentarily stunned. "That has nothing to do with us, though," she said, confused.

Hayden nodded lightly. "Exactly. That's why we need to investigate further to figure out why they're tailing us.

Keira chuckled. "You're impressive-turning their stalking into your own counter-surveillance."

Knock, knock!

The sound of knuckles on the car window interrupted them. Hayden and Keira turned to

see Lena standing outside. Neither of them had noticed her approach.

Hayden lowered the window, and Lena leaned against it, smirking at the two of them." What's this? Sitting in the car doing nothing? Why aren't you getting out?"

"Well, we were about to, but then you interrupted," Keira teased her.

"Big belly and all, don't let your imagination run wild," Lena said, glancing pointedly at Hayden.

The joking tone made Hayden uncomfortable. He quickly got out, opened the trunk, and began unloading Lena's luggage and the gifts they'd bought. "Thanks for helping me out," Lena said as she opened my car door and helped Keira step

out.

"If you hadn't insisted on moving, maybe your uncle wouldn't have gotten into that car accident," Keira teased.

"That's not on me. He brought it on himself," Lena huffed, though she didn't mention the fact that Aaron had been drinking and driving.

Hayden walked ahead of them, his long strides quickly creating some distance. Lena and Keira followed at a more leisurely pace. "Your Mr. Hart sure has long legs," Lena commented.

"Of course, he does. They're beautiful long legs," Keira replied, not catching her teasing

tone.

"If his legs are so long, why is he so slow to act? Even when it comes to running away," Lena quipped, her words full of hidden meaning. Keira ignored her jab and instead told her about the car following them. Lena immediately tensed up. "Can't you two catch a break?"

"I don't know. We'll figure it out once we get more information," Keira replied, equally frustrated.

"It's someone from the Mitchell family of Windy City. Doesn't seem to have any connection to the Drago family," Keira said. But as soon as the words left her mouth, Lena stopped in her tracks. "Did you say Windy City's Mitchell family?"

Keira nodded. "Yes. Do you know them, or do you know something about this?"
