Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 2931 The Second Generation Durhams Enter The Village
Matthew remained unresponsive to Solon's request for treatment and instead stood quietly with a slight smirk on his lips.
Solon's eyes widened in surprise. "Matthew, are you unwilling to help with such a small matter?"
Matthew shook his head, "Why bother? Just endure it for now and I'll take you to see an interesting show tomorrow. You'll also witness which clan members are eagerly awaiting your demise." Although puzzled, Solon nodded instinctively.
Word of Solon's ambush spread quickly and the following morning, a convoy of luxury cars drove along the new mountain road constructed by Matthew to Whitecloud Village. The young men and women from the Durham Family stepped out of the cars, engaging in playful banter. "What kind of place is this? It's so underdeveloped, it feels like stepping into a primitive society."
"Look, look, there are mud houses over there, how intriguing."
"Wow. Ducks, and even a live rooster."
The Durhams' affluence had provided them with a higher standard of living, but it had also led to a loss of common sense so everything in Whitecloud Village was novel to them. However, a few individuals seemed to have a fixation on cleanliness and were repulsed by their surroundings.
Observing the group from a distance, Matthew shook his head in disappointment. How tarnished was Solon's reputation within the family that his peers, siblings, and cousins were all eager to visit him, strolling leisurely as if on a sightseeing excursion? After some time, Dorian, the leader, could no longer contain his frustration and cleared his throat. "Let's all go see Solon first though he is in no immediate danger according to Matthew. We will need to collaborate in the future, so we must maintain decorum." Upon hearing this, Niall Durham, one of the legitimate descendants, immediately displayed a disdainful expression. "Hmph, he's merely a child born out of wedlock. If not for his stroke of luck, he would be worthless. I fail to comprehend Matthew's intentions. The Durhams boasts numerous talented youths, yet he specifically seeks out Solon."
As Niall spoke, not a single individual in the group opposed him; instead, they echoed his sentiments.
"Perhaps he is simply opportunistic. I heard that, Matthew abducted Solon previously but instead of seeking retribution, he ingratiated himself to Matthew and consequently reaped significant benefits following the Kellers' downfall."
"Yes, he is not only opportunistic but also sycophantic. It truly disgraces our family."
The group derided Solon with the female members maintaining their composure by remaining silent, though their expressions of disgust and disdain spoke volumes.
As the group neared the house where Solon resided, Dorian could no longer tolerate the disparaging remarks. "Enough, let us cease this discussion. Remember, you all represent the Durhams. It is imperative to uphold the family's reputation when in public." "Tsk, that illegitimate child? His mother is just a mistress-"
Niall had intended to make a snide comment but upon noticing Dorian's displeasure, he refrained from speaking further as Dorian held a prominent position among their generation and served as one of the four external affairs executives of the Durhams. His status was just below that of the family head, and any provocation could have serious repercussions.
"Choose your words wisely. While you may hold disdain for Solon, disrespecting your elders is not tolerated within the Durhams. This warning will be issued only once and shall not be repeated." Dorian fixed a stern gaze upon the group of unruly young individuals before turning to lead them forward.
