Although Zedran didn't know what deep-seated hatred Rocco and Matthew had, he sensed a sharp, icy aura from Rocco and could tell he wasn't lying. After weighing the pros and cons, Zedran made up his mind. "Screw it! If this works, our fortunes will soar."

"Lord Zedran, congratulations on making a wise choice. While I live, your beloved son will take the throne.

For some reason, even though Zedran thought Rocco was boasting, a voice inside him told him this man could make it happen. It was an undeniably persuasive power. Prince Garrett sensed it, Arabella sensed it, and Zedran sensed it too. "Here's to our success."

They toasted with tea instead of wine.

"Lord Zedran, please act quickly. I'll buy you as much time as I can on my end."

"Time is short, so I'll take my leave now."

As Rocco reached the door, Zedran suddenly called out to him.

"Mr. Rocco, I have a question. You serve Prince Toby. Why are you doing this?"

Rocco turned and smiled slightly, "Lord Zedran, didn't you say curiosity killed the cat? I'll return that saying to you. Knowing too much won't do you any good."

With that, he disappeared. Rocco wasn't worried that Zedran would expose their plan to Prince Toby. After all, a man who would risk his life for his son's sake wouldn't be so heartless.

Of course, Rocco's promise to support Zedran's son's rise wasn't made lightly. Whether he would be a true king or a puppet was another matter.

After Rocco left, Zedran summoned

his deputies. That night, a dense convoy of armored vehicles sped towards Basha's Sacred Mount, followed closely by rows of rocket launchers. Dark clouds covered the sky making the air oppressive.

Upon returning to Prince Toby's side, Rocco briefly explained the situation. As expected, Prince Toby threw a fit, smashing the newly replaced porcelain in his quarters. Rocco didn't try to calm him, and he merely watched coldly.

He chose to infiltrate Prince Toby's

circle not because the prince was exceptional or promising but because an irritable person was the easiest to control. Additionally, many matters were easier to handle under the prince's identity.

Once Prince Toby finished venting, Rocco stepped forward.

"Your Highness, I don't understand why Lord Zedran is desperate to challenge the Sacred Mount. However, his actions benefit us. If, we succeed and capture Matthew's wife, we can completely control Matthew. Plus, we might obtain the rumored treasure on the mountain, a treasure that could transform a

person. Who wouldn't be tempted by that?"

Moreover, since Zedran was publicly aligned with Prince Toby, if he failed, he would take the fall alone. If he succeeded, Prince Toby would share in the victory. There was no downside.

Prince Toby nearly fainted with rage. "Why didn't you say this earlier?" He lamented over the shattered vases. "This was all money!"

After explaining to Prince Toby, Rocco contacted Arabella. Upon hearing the news, she wholeheartedly supported the plan, especially since it targeted Matthew.
