Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3386 Frenzied Investment
The next day, a message spread throughout Cathay: Matthew Larson, the Summit Warden and renowned Holy Doctor, was opening unlimited investment opportunities. This immediately caught the attention of wealthy individuals who had long sought to build connections with Matthew. People were bound to face misfortunes at some point in their lives, after all. Matthew's reputation for miraculous healing, even bringing the dead back to life, had long spread across the country, and eager to form a personal connection with the famous healer, billionaires threw money into the project, hoping to gain his favor. Even those who were skeptical about Matthew's capabilities jumped on board, seeing an opportunity in the promising future of Montiria.
"Thane, did you invest in that project Dr. Larson launched?" a wealthy man asked his neighbor as he returned to his home in an upscale neighborhood in Bainbridge.
"Of course I did. How much did you put in?" Thane replied with a grin.
The wealthy man looked surprised. "I thought you didn't believe Matthew was as great as everyone says?"
Thane chuckled, shaking his head. "I don't believe he's as miraculous as people claim, but I see potential in Montiria. The country's about to rise, and with Mortimer Zedler overseeing things, any investment there is bound to be profitable!"
This scene repeated itself across Cathay. Everyone was talking about it, and the amount of money flowing into Matthew's project skyrocketed. One billion, five billion, 10 billion, 50 billion, 100 billion... The investment grew at an incredible pace. Even smaller investors who had some savings joined in, eager to ride the wave of opportunity.
Meanwhile, in Cunningham Manor, the mood was far from celebratory.
Smash!
The sound of breaking porcelain echoed through the room as Terrance Cunningham hurled one of his favorite vases to the floor. His aged face was contorted with rage.
"To think Larson would pull such a move!" Terrance seethed, his voice thick with suppressed anger and cold bitterness. He had assumed that by leading a coordinated
economic blockade, they could net
cripple Matthew's businesses. But instead, not only had Matthew emerged unscathed, but he had also gained nationwide attention and attracted an enormous influx of capital.
The butler stood nearby, silent and stiff with fear, too terrified to say a word.
After a few moments, Terrance managed to calm himself down. As he glanced at the shattered remains of the vase, a flicker of regret crossed his eyes. He scolded the butler, his tone sharp, "Don't you know this was my favorite vase? Why didn't you stop me?" "Master, I tried to stop you, but I couldn't..." the butler replied, his voice filled with helplessness. It was a no-win situation-if he hadn't tried to intervene, he would've been blamed for that too.
"If you couldn't stop me, you
should've at least caught the vase!
What are you here for, if not to prevent things like this? Useless!" Terrance's furious outburst made the butler lower his head even е further, too scared to defend himself, for he knew all too well that angering Terrance further could cost him his life.
"Go send word to the Damron and Lullaby families. Tell them we must spare no expense in acquiring liquidity. don't care if they have to use threats or underhanded methods-whatever it takes. And make sure they borrow from every relative or ally they can find. We've been around for centuries we are not going to lose to some upstart who's only been around for a few decades!"
Meanwhile, Mark sat in his family home with a smug smile, his eyes gleaming with confidence. His family had survived for centuries, weathering every storm. How could they possibly lose to someone like Matthew Larson, a man who had only recently risen to prominence?
"Yes, Master," the butler replied, bowing before rushing off to relay the orders.
