Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3434 Emil Heads to the Western Dock
Emil watched in horror as the burly men, weapons in hand, approached him with cold, ruthless expressions. His face turned ghostly pale as he stumbled backward, shouting, "I'm here to see Chief Deadeye! What do you all think you're doing?" The men sneered, their expressions turning even more menacing.
"What do you think we're doing?"
"Obviously, we're going to kill you for disturbing our peace."
"Don't worry. After we're done, we'll toss your body into the sea for the sharks."
The men closed in, forcing Emil to back up until he hit a stack of cargo. Seeing the weapons raised and ready to strike, Emil shouted desperately, "My uncle is a captain of the Island Watch! I'm here on important business!"
At his words, a raspy voice cut through the air. "Let him come forward."
The men instantly halted, stepping aside and bowing in respect, each inclining to a perfect sixty-degree angle. "Chief."
From the shadows, a man in rough clothes emerged, not as muscular as Mack but radiating a dangerous, murderous aura. Most striking of all was the black eyepatch covering his right eye.
"Even if you're with the Island Watch, you're still trespassing on Devil Guild's turf in the dead of night," Deadeye said in an emotionless tone that only intensified the chilling aura around him. "If I decide to kill you here, no one would care. So, you'd better say something worth my attention, or you're a dead man."
Despite his face paling with fear, Emil steadied himself, relieved the men had pulled back. He addressed Deadeye directly, "Perhaps news about the other docks might interest you, Chief Deadeye."
"The eastern dock, is it?" Deadeye's single eye gleamed with interest.
"No, the northern dock."
Instantly, Deadeye's expression darkened.
Among the three docks on the island, it was well-known that the eastern and western docks were the strongest. The northern dock, by contrast, was a neutral zone, set by folks who wanted nothing to do with the ongoing conflicts. They maintained a policy of
non-aggression, staying out of
island skirmishes entirely.
But hearing mention of the northern dock, Deadeye's men stepped forward once more, their weapons humming with hostility.
"Are you trying to waste my time?" Deadeye's voice was cold. "If so, your life will be the price for that little joke."
"Hear me out, Chief Deadeye!" Emil
blurted out in desperation, then frantically gathered his thoughts. "Until recently, the northern dock might have been harmless. But today, a dangerous man arrived there. If he's left unchecked,P
guarantee it won't be long before the northern dock dominates."
Emil's conviction seemed genuine, piquing Deadeye's curiosity, though he soon let out a mocking laugh. "So, a single tough guy shows up and the northern dock suddenly grows a spine, huh? Don't underestimate the Devil Guild, Kaiser!"
Seeing that no one believed him, Emil grew even more desperate, shouting, "Even my uncle couldn't defeat him!"
