Lina and Renee took advantage of the shift change in the communication room, sneaking in multiple times. They couldn't stay inside for long, just briefly familiarizing themselves with the equipment or searching for a manual.

They felt fear and trepidation each time, but strangely enough, they were never discovered. Even when they heard approaching footsteps, they managed to avoid danger, as if a hidden force was guiding them. Lina had a good understanding of the ship's layout, while Renee had a natural aptitude for numbers. Working together, they seamlessly gathered enough information about the communication room through several attempts.

On this particular evening, they found themselves on the deck of the large ship, slowly moving amidst the vast expanse of the deep blue ocean. The moon illuminated the night sky like an everlasting pearl, and the salty sea breeze made them feel cold and sticky.

They were still waiting for the people on the ship to fall into a deeper sleep.

Renee, feeling tired, leaned against Lina's shoulder and asked, "Lina, do you think Toph and the others have any way to find us?"

Lina's gaze darkened, and she remained silent.

Zuko must be extremely worried. She hoped he hadn't informed her parents in Jangasas. Otherwise, Melissa would surely pass out. The thought of her parents brought tears to her eyes. Renee's voice choked up as well. "Lina, I'm really worried about my mom. Her health is already poor, and if something were to happen-"

"It won't, it won't!" Lina hastily interrupted her. "Our moms will be fine!"

"Yeah!" Renee forced a smile and tried to reassure her, "Aunt Linda is so kind-hearted. She'll be fine."

"Renee, what I meant was... my mom." Lina's voice was barely audible, drowned out by the sea wind.

Renee widened her eyes, somewhat surprised.

"I know it's not right..." Lina raised her head to look at the night sky and spoke softly. "But when I'm in danger, I can't help but think of my parents-I mean my mom and dad in Jangasas. Lina turned to look at Renee. "Renee, I didn't grow up with your uncle and aunt. We're practically strangers to each other."

"Lina..." Renee held onto her arm and leaned against her.

Lina forced a bitter smile. These past few days, she even felt a bit depressed, wondering if she wouldn't have ended up in this predicament if she weren't the daughter of Nicholas and Linda. Why did fate make such arrangements? Why couldn't she just be Lina Jenner and not be dragged back into being Pamela Thompson?

However, those thoughts only flashed briefly, and a deep sense of guilt overcame her. After all, they were her biological parents. Besides, if she weren't their daughter, she would never have met Zuko in this lifetime...

Upon thinking of him, Lina's heart throbbed with pain. Subconsciously, her hand went to her chest, and she accidentally felt the star necklace Zuko had given her. She paused, realizing the necklace had been with her all this time.

Lina took it off and held it in her hand, feeling as if she could sense Zuko's warmth.

"Cuz, this necklace is very pretty." Renee smiled. Girls were always interested in shiny things.

Lina told her, "Zuko gave it to me."

"Is it a diamond?" Renee asked, envious. "Can I touch it?"

Lina smiled. Forget touching. Renee could even try it on if she wanted to. She suddenly recalled the scene when Gia saw Zuko gifting her the family heirloom bangle and wanted to try it on. She had rejected her request, citing that it was a family heirloom.

Now, with Renee wanting to hold her necklace, she didn't have as many excuses at all.
