Married By Mistake -
Chapter 40
LUNA
“Dylan, I’m tickled.” I giggled as I pushed Dylan’s face away from my neck.
“This is the first time that I have woken up that I am complete, Luna.” He whispered close to my ear.
I felt his warm chest on my back. His palm caressed my now nine-month-old belly. I lay down and gave him a sweet smile.
I caressed his face. “I’m not leaving again, D.”
“I won’t let you go anywhere, Baby.”
“Did you miss me?”
“I miss you so much.”
I let our noses touched. “Let’s eat. We’re hungry.”
“Come on. I’ve already cooked.”
We got up and went down to the kitchen. He took care of me and put food on my plate. It was fun to watch Dylan change.
“Aren’t you going to be in the office today?” I asked before munching on the small slice of meat.
“I’m supposed to be. But I’m cancelling all my meetings so I can be with you.”
“Oh, you’re so sweet.” I smiled. “Anyway, why does your porridge doesn’t have cabbage?”
He looked at me and frowned. “Uh, baby, cabbage doesn’t put in the porridge. It’s stewed.”
“You can put cabbage in the porridge, ah!”
“W-Wait, why are you fighting me?”
“Because you’re saying I’m wrong!”
He held my hand. “I’m sorry. Okay, go ahead. You’re right. You’re right. You can put the leaves on the porridge. I’m sorry, I didn’t put it on because I didn’t buy it. So, please, baby, let’s not fight.”
My expression softened when I saw the pleading in his eyes. “I-I’m sorry, too. I yelled at you.”
He nodded. “Hormones. I understand.”
We finished eating and I immediately went to the sink to wash some pots when I felt Dylan’s arms on my lap. “Let me do it, Baby.”
“No. You are the one who cooked, eh.”
“Why are you rude to me again?”
“I do not know.”
I winced when his soft lips touched my neck. “Did I do anything wrong?”
“Hmm. Nope.”
“I love you. Do you love me?”
“Yes,” I said with no doubt.
“Will you marry me?”
“Yes. But ..”
“But what, wife?”
“When my stomach isn’t big anymore.”
“Why?”
I reached for the breakable glass and started lathering it up. “I want to be beautiful and sexy in my wedding gown.”
“Even though you still have a big belly, you’re still beautiful and sexy for me.”
I would have spoken verbally when the pain in my stomach grew. I let go of the glass and broke it.
“Wait .. wait ..”
“Why?” I tinged the concern in my husband’s voice.
I sighed as I felt the water dripping down my thigh. “Ah! Oh, no .. no .. Dylan!”
“What? Are you feeling weird? Does your tummy hurt? Do you want a massage?”
“Ooh!” I looked down and cupped between my thighs.
“B-Baby, y-you’re leaking—”
“Quit asking the question! I’m going to give birth! Get your damn car!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice.
He picked me up and proudly opened the door of the house. “Yeah. Got it. Baby, relax. Breathe in. Breathe out.”
“Ah! If you are not going to move fast, I’m going to give birth here!”
“Here it is. Calm down. Do what we practised!” His hand trembled as he stars the car.
“Are you yelling at me ?! f**k!”
“I’m just explaining.” A*****e!
“Dylan! Hurry up!”
I don’t know how many hours it takes to travel. All I care about is the excruciating pain that childbirth is causing me right now.
“Just .. a little longer, Baby.”
“A little longer ?! Can’t you see? Our son wants to come out! F**k you! Ah!”
“Here we are.” He went down and get into my side. The hospital staff quickly picked us up and took care of me.
I could feel the sweat dripping down my forehead and neck.
“Sir, you’re only up to here.”
“What ?! No! I’ll take him inside! If you don’t let him in, I’ll kick you!” I said emphatically to the woman holding Dylan.
I was moved to the bed in the middle of the delivery room. My chest is tightening. I could hardly breathe because of the ache and pain.
“Ma’am, we need you to have a caesarean. You can’t afford a normal delivery because of your medical history.” The doctor promised.
I shook. “No. I want normal. I want to see my son when he comes out.”
“But, Mrs.—”
“I can do it!”
The doctor took a deep breath. “Mrs., a little more push. I haven’t seen the child’s head yet.”
I stayed as far as I could. Dylan held my hand. Strictly and as if reminding me that he was always by my side.
“You can do this, Luna.”
Tears fled my eyes. I gasped. “The pain, Dylan! Make the pain go away!”
“What? What am I supposed to do, Baby?” I can also see in his eyes the suffering.
“It hurts, D.”
“Mrs., push. Please, the child might suffocate.” The doctor ordered me to obey immediately.
My grip tightened on Dylan. Wants to close my eyes. Gradually, my chest tightened as well. I can’t breathe anymore but I’m pushing for my son … for Dylan.
How many times have I endured aches and pains? I keep fighting. I cried one last time. My eyes felt weak. I also have difficulty breathing. My grip on Dylan loosened. The doctor says something to me but I can’t hear him anymore.
I was hurriedly fitted with an oxygen mask by a nurse. “S-Save my baby. P-Plea …”
“Luna!”
“Doc, the patient’s heartbeat is dropping!”
