Brielle's car was still parked outside when she noticed another vehicle pulling out of the driveway. The windows were tinted dark, but she was almost certain it was King behind the wheel. Quickly, she started her car to follow him, curious about where he was heading. Tailgating wasn't exactly Brielle's strong suit. Any half-attentive driver could easily spot they were being followed and shake her off. But the car ahead maintained a leisurely pace, showing no signs of trying to lose her.

As she followed at a safe distance, her mind wandered back to the pieces of evidence she had been piecing together. The jewelry counter where she had seen the kid at the mall was the same place where she and Max had once shopped for rings. That kid must have been buying a ring as a gift, not for himself. And, coincidentally, it was the exact same design as the one on her finger.

Glancing down at her hand, she noticed the two rings she wore one for women and one for men, both perfectly matching her ring size. A honk from the car behind snapped her out of her thoughts, and she quickly refocused on tailing King's car.

Eventually, King's car stopped at a suburban mansion. Brielle watched as he got out and headed inside. Her car was so close to his that it was blatantly obvious she was tailing him. Yet, nobody seemed to care or stop her.

Stepping out of her car, Brielle approached the front gate, half-expecting to be stopped. The security guards acted as if they were blind, completely ignoring her presence. For a moment, she wondered if they were actually blind, until a soccer ball came flying toward them and one of the guards skillfully kicked it back, drawing a cheer from a nearby kid.

They weren't blind; they were just pretending not to see her. It reminded her of the time she had entered the casino-everyone turned a blind eye to her wandering into restricted areas.

Inside, before Brielle could even knock, she heard pleading voices followed by a gunshot echoing from within. Hesitating only for a moment, she cracked the door open.

King sat there, a sleek pistol in hand. It was clear he was the shooter. The lives of those around him seemed as insignificant as ants to him. But Brielle wasn't deterred by the gore. Instead, she stared intently at him, as if trying to see beyond the mask to the face underneath.

Soon, professionals arrived to drag the body away, and the bloodstains were quickly wiped clean. Brielle stood in the doorway, overhearing King's order to "clean up thoroughly."

Then, he rose and walked towards the door. Brielle stepped aside, blending into the background like a piece of furniture. But he and his bodyguards ignored her as they returned to their car, continuing to disregard her presence. Lagging a few meters behind, Brielle boldly followed them out. Once he drove away, she stood still, enveloped by the darkness, the bloodshed, and the indifference.

After a while, Brielle got back into her car, massaging her temples, when her phone rang. It was Dustin calling.

"Tonight, I'm taking you to the Lynch family estate. Remember the butler I mentioned before? You'll meet him. Since you arrived in North America, I've been keeping my dad from meeting you. In the Lynch family, has to play the role of not welcoming this daughter. Dad's always been good at hiding his feelings, and he hasn't let slip any desire to find his daughter; it's always been me and Mom who've been actively searching. So, he can perfectly play this role. But don't worry, he's eager to meet you. We just need to catch that fox, the butler, before making any moves."

Brielle knew there was something off about the Lynch family's butler. But the butler, being in his seventies and having watched her father grow up, raised the question: had the Lynch family been infiltrated?

"Don't worry, little falcon," Dustin

reassured her "I've got your back. Ever since I took over the Lynch family operations, I've replaced all of Dad's old guards with my own people. The butler's influence had indeed infiltrated his ranks because, in my dad's eyes, the butler was almost like a father figure, We just need the evidence to understand why he's been lurking in the Lynch family for so long."

Brielle wasn't concerned. She had been thwarted by these people for so long, and yet, here she was, finally returning to the Lynch family fold.
